While it has been seven weeks since my TKR surgery, I am finally rounding the bend in that today I stopped pain medication and drove my truck for the first time. My visit was with. Dr. Kaufman. He immediately recommended surgery for a soft tissue injury in my right foot. My foot nor my toe were mishapened in anyway. I was surprised. Stated he would have to shorten the bone in my toe. We agreed to give it a month and reconvene. The 2nd visit he reinforced his surgical recommendation, stating i would be non-weight bearing for at least a month...wot?? I asked about prosthetics he stated it would be more than the surgery (his nurse/assistant, Mary, was not present during the visit). He then proceeded to state that I was going through "the change". I was appalled and angry. He started discussing neighbors he played tennis with in Florida. I concluded the visit and went to a different doctor. This doctor advised a shoe insert to support my toe. Told me to give it 1 year. That was 2 years ago. My foot is fine. No more problems. Surgeons wanna do surgery. Oh and very dismissive and disrespectful. Shame on you Dr. Kaufman trying to gaslight a patient. read more

I have had a very positive experience with physicians in this group but the communication system ...i.e., getting an appointment, getting information and the ability to get questions answered is terrible. This level of impersonal cumbersome inefficiency within a system that is totally unconcerned about the patient experience results in a terrible experience regardless of the physician. I've been going to OAA for eighteen years, with that said I have had four doctors....back, knee, shoulder, pain management and their MD....I thought I had the best doctors. However I realized that some had changed their attitudes, I was in serios pain, they acted as if I was lying....I thought it was my hip but it actually turns out to be my back....I have changed several doctors there at OAA....wih the exception of Dr. Bris***. He's fantastic....please dont get me wrong, I can't complain about any surgery for they were the best, it was their attitude that I decided to move on.... read more

I LOVE this place. I have never had a bad experience there. Everyone is wonderful. Parking is difficult sometimes but they offer free valet if you have trouble walking. Dr Dunne is the BEST Dr Hawk is awesome also. Recommend this place to everyone read more

I'd been waiting to see a Doctor Hawk for some time now. I made the appointment I waited for 3 months. I took the day off from work on the morning of the appointment. On the morning of the appointment, I found myself running a bit late. I placed a courtesy call to the office. I was @20 mins late and they told me that I would have to reschedule and that the doctor would be in surgery at my arrival time. Wow. I had a 9:45 and 15 mins would be for paperwork and intake. I'd have gone in to see the doctor at 10 he would have been done with me by 10:15 which would have been my approximate arrival time. I was trying to schedule for a hip replacement. All I would be allowed to interact would have been less than 15 minutes? So in 15 mins I would have had intake X-rays and a face to face with a the great Doctor Hawk. These guys are duds. I would not recommend nor will i have any dealings with them in the future. The Hospital for Special Surgeries here I come. OAA you should be ashamed. read more

OAA is so concerned with fast efficient service that they have neglected personal care! The office staff are courteous and kind but this is precisely who you spend the majority of your time with while at OAA. Arrive and check in, move to waiting area, assistant brings you to the evaluation room, doctor walks in spent literally 6 minutes with me, bam back to the assistant who walks you, to another office team member to schedule and then to yet another office staffer to check out. If you are looking for any type of personal care DO NOT go to OAA; Unfortunately OAA is so concerned with volume, moving people in and out that they neglect the most basic human interactions. I'm not going to beat around the bush. OAA has a great setup for fast in and fast out with appointments. Easy parking and a dedicated staff. Most of all they are a highly qualified specialists. I have gone to several Doctors at the facility, they make it possible for me to continue to garden in spite of my arthritis! read more

I'm not gonna mention the dr's name but I went there and was given a script for a lot of blood work and some of it came back high the dr said I didn't mention any symptoms of the results. However since then I've been having severe pain and troubles and it turns out that the blood work that was high is a cause of what I'm struggling with. I would not recommend OAA to anyone. read more

Dr. Kalawadia went out of his way to ensure that I received the care that I needed. After my MRI he posted the results on the online portal for me to read that very same day, well before my follow-up appointment. After determining that my knee pain was not due to a structural issue, he recommended me to a physical therapist and pushed to get me in 2 days later for an evaluation, since I was going to be traveling. I highly recommend Dr. Kalawadia-- he practices at OAA in Allentown and Bethlehem. read more

Dr.Corba is the Best ! He is Pain Management. He has been my savior for 15 years !

OAA and in particular Breslin and Ony are only fit for working at a meat deli. I went there with limited motion in my left leg. Breslin said no problem, removing a little meniscus to smooth a tear and good as new. Not only did he remove the whole side of the Meniscus, he let Ony do the surgery, practicing on my knee, (Ony's own admission to me). When I tried too see Breslin to ask him what had happened I could not follow up with him, just with Ony who really couldn't describe the work that had been done. They have affected my life in a horrible way and it is sad to think they're still continuing. Ony does not have the maturity to converse with a patient and Breslin has forgot his oath and obligation to his patient but not his wallet. Disgusting! read more

After spending $700 in copay and deductible, my situation did not change. Maybe no doctor could have improved my situation, but I think it is treatable if the physician would have spent more than two minutes looking at my chart. I don't think they care. It's a private practice. I will not go again. It might be better to go to a group that is under the hospital. read more

First, showed up on the wrong day, ok, my mistake. But I was taken into the waiting room and they let me sit there for 45 mins before they came and got me and said, oh, wrong day. Really? Way to waste my time! Then when I came back on the correct day, the doctor was in with me less than three minutes, never touched my shoulder, had me show if I had strength in my arm, said it was arthritis, nothing can be done, buh bye. I subsequently went to another office, where my shoulder was fully examined, I received a cortisone shot, and my shoulder is now improving greatly. Do not go here for OT (Lymphedema) after breast cancer. The therapist complains about her personal life. She is also disorganized, prob due to her personal issues. She also had the balls to pick my brain about a friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer and ask me how she should eat. Moreover, both ladies who worked with me told me not to work out or weight train. The best thing anybody can do is workout and move around and you can get lymphedema even if you DON'T workout so I don't know what idiot would say that to anyone. Makes no sense! We all know exercising can do wonderful things for whole body like improve blood flow, help us stay happy, keep weight down, BP, etc, I can't believe I even have to say this! What a bunch of idiots. Stay away from Lehigh valley for this kind of stuff. Lymphedema isn't curable but at the right facility is treatable! I'm highly educated and find this whole operation quite shady! read more

Scheduled a follow up appointment from surgery. They never scheduled it. They ended up telling me that there is nothing they can do for me and I could be seen 2 days later. I explained to them that it's a FMLA issue and I need to be seen today. It is not my problem that the appointment was never registered. Maybe they should hire people who know how to do their job. And they take forever to fill out paperwork so the patient couple be paid from their short term disability claim. Never coming back here again read more

I'm very happy with OAA. I had a hip replacement. I never needed pain meds at home. Before surgery, I was in severe pain after only walking 1 block, had a severe limp & needed a cane. Postop no more pain, limp or cane. Woo hoo! read more

Unethical billing practices - they order unnecessary tests to make money. Similar issues have been noted in other reviews. I told Dr. Weiss i didn't want a carpal tunnel test, and that the issue i had was not carpal tunnel, it seemed more like arthritis. He said "just get the carpal tunnel test so we can rule it out" fast forward a few weeks when i get the bill - they charged $1,600 for that test!!! SUCH A SCAM! The machine they used for the carpal tunnel test is from 1970 - since this should be fully depreciated i have no idea how they value this at $1,600. Unfortunately the lehigh valley medical community is turning into a monopoly, so this may be your only option. Just make sure you pump the breaks on them when they order different tests and stuff. Since everything is on-site you don't realize that when they send you down the hall for a quick test or x-ray that you will be in for a huge bill!!! read more

I am not a huge fan of OAA Orthopaedic Specialists since 2017. I was in an automobile accident and needed to be seen for injuries. They never called me back. That being said, the most annoying issue is that they keep calling my house despite me telling them three times they have the wrong phone number. It is funny how when I needed them to call me back they never did and I had to go elsewhere, but when I want them to stop calling me, they call once or twice a week! read more

This place was supposed to be so good ? Their Dr refused to see me after I had my records faxed to them saying I need to be seen at the Hospital and I need surgery, but the lady on the phone could not tell me why or whats wrong that I need surgery,so the Dr diagnosed me without looking at me, and blew me off, and refused to see me and refused tell me whats wrong, or why I need surgery. Funny thing, it's workers comp and they are on the panel of Dr's that I need to see and the Hospital where they want me to go is not on the panel. Talk about getting the run around......so here I sit. The lady who called me could not answer any of my questions when I asked whats wrong that I need surgery ? I just wanted to see a DR so someone could tell me whats wrong, what a let down......so here I sit in pain and no where to go-they were no help at all and the person on the phone , well she was no help either and could not answer my questions, just left me with more. UPDATE: same day as first review....Just talked with my insurance claim agent and she said the Dr at OAA called her earlier today and said I had a prior surgery in same area 25 years ago and thats why he didn't want to treat me or see me. So that means he and the lady who called me back from OAA, LIED to me.....said one thing to insurance agent and said something else to me.....double tongue. These are professional people telling lies to patients and or insurance company ? You can't trust anyone these days, so sad. read more

We were LIED to about the office charge! We were told going in that the office visit would be $150 plus an X-ray charge, which would be waived. We told them my son had no insurance. My son knew he had a fractured hand because it had been x-rayed in the hospital, he was wearing a splint for weeks, and this was just a follow-up. When we received the bill, the charge was $145 for the office visit, $65 for the x-ray and $1,145 (!!!) for "treating of fracture." All the doctor did for $1,145 was look at the x-ray and say that it was fractured but healing and he could take the splint off! He saw him for all of 2 minutes and we were LIED to about the cost of the visit! We were told it was $150 total for the visit, plus the x-ray charge would be waived as a concession to our financial situation. There was NO mention of any additional charges, certainly not a charge for over a thousand dollars for a two minute visit! Now they are threatening to put it in collections if it isn't paid, even though we did not agree to any other possible charges and were told what the total charges would be. We have made numerous attempts to have this situation properly redressed, and OAA refuses to budge on the issue. This office is manipulative and preys on the poor, to take advantage of people in such circumstances is the definition of predatory business tactics, and this office should be ashamed of itself. But wow, it sure is a pretty lobby! read more

I have been going to OAA for a couple of years now. Have seen Dr. Corba, who is such a sensational pain specialist, who works with you to come up with a plan to help you get pain relief. Best ever, wouldn't see anyone else. Also see Dr. McConnell, spine surgeon. has such an exceptional bed side manner and is willing to spend the time you need to discuss your case. Did surgery on my neck and I was pain free when I woke up - couldn't have asked for better. Also see Dr. Crossan for injections into my knees. Very easy to work with and make getting an injection not as scary or painful as you thought. She is a fantastic doctor. So as you can see I spend a lot of time at OAA for different problems and I wouldn't go anywhere else. From front desk staff, to surgery scheduling, to the surgery center, and most of all the doctors and their expertise, it is a positive place to have your care done. read more

I had a wonderful experience with both my hand surgeries at OAA and Dr. Battista. All my appointments were prompt and on time. My day of surgery went smoothly. From pre-op to recovery and my car waiting for us in the garage. Very organized with all the little details handled well. I would recommend them to everyone. read more

I've been going to OAA center for cervical neck issues for two years on and off. I've went through multiple doctors starting with Dr Corba, miles and now Dr. Millet. I've went to 5-6 sessions at PT center onsite and although the exercise gave me temporary relief, it did not fix my problems. I can't seem to get any comfort and then started getting Vinacane shots and muscle relaxants. Once again they are masking my symptoms... I don't know what it is but I've spent a lot of my out of pocket $$ at this facility and not getting results. I think their expertise at diagnose problem is limited and treatment they provide appears to be money pit for most part. I am not looking for magic fix but the sessions I've attended especially PT, the bill in was ridiculous and same exercised over again and again. They recommended that I get cervical retractor for home use but very expensive, found one on Amazon at fraction cost and hope that will help ease pain on neck. I am going to Rothman institute get second opinion as OAA is going nowhere for me. read more

First, not all doctors are bad here. Dr. Cohen is terrific, and has great skills as a Chiropractor. In fact, the ONLY reason why my wife and I do not go to him is because of the "you are just a number" healthcare system of OAA. I have had several disturbing encounters with OAA, and continue to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the straw that broke the camels back for me is the following: See My reviews of Dr. Corba on HealthGrades. The Patient Advocate, Susan had stated that she was not surprised at my issues with Dr. Corba, and that in only three short weeks, being at OAA as a patient advocate, she has heard numerous complaints (If you research Dr. Robert Corba on line, you will notice that he has received numerous complaints about his rudeness and how his bedside manner toward patients). A few weeks later, I went to follow up on my complaint, and Susan explained that my complaint has gone nowhere, abd will remain so. She stated that I am free to see my Chiropractor, elsewhere, and that Dr Corba would be happy to forward my 'chart'. She also stated that I would indeed have to pay for a full office visit. Really? So a D.O. can allow an LPN with lack of assessment skills to do an assessment, be rude to a new patient, then follow the patient out of the office after the patient states that this office visit will not continue, get confrontational with the new patient in the lobby, in front of staff and patients, the patient advocate admits that this is one of many like complaints, and the office still feels that they have a right to bill for a complete office visit? I would not think of ever billing for my time if, when my attitude forced a patient out of my office. And, BTW this review was written after multiple offers to resolve this situation, OAA would rather have a bad review, than to refund a minor co-pay for rude, incompetent service. Dr. Kaufman and staff were first class and did an amazing job with my Achilles surgery.

Dr Weiss, Much pain in my left hand. I also ride motorcycles, asked him if the pain could be stopped, shifting a motorcycle requires the use of the left hand. He gave me the options to end the pain, shots, and if it didn't work surgery. Shots worked for only a short time but as the Dr said the success of the shots are patient dependent, good for some not for others. After a week long trip ending early of riding I decided for the surgery. He performed the surgery and there's no looking back. My hand is 100% again and riding is enjoyable again. Dr Weiss knows his business, he told me every step of the way what to expect and his predictions were right on. Helpful office staff and never waited very long to see him. I also had trouble with the right hand but he told me since I was left handed I'd probably won't need surgery on the right hand because I'm now using the left as I should and the pain would subside in the right. I had a microdisectomy 2 years ago by Dr. James Weiss. He told me it was , and I quote "the tonsilectomy of back surgery". I was in severe pain and had sciatica down my entire leg. After seeing him in the office several times and begging him to do the surgery, he told me he thought the sciatic pain would resolve itself and we should give it more time. After waiting approximately SEVEN WEEKS, he finally performed the surgery. He told me and I quote again "it was more herniated than I thought". Just what you want to hear from your surgeon. To make a long story short. I had two EMGs performed on my leg and was diagnosed with L5 NERVE ROOT DAMAGE.. I could barely walk after the surgery and my leg kept cramping up. When Dr. Weiss ordered the first EMG, he told me at that point I had to take up my issues with another physician because he told me "i'm just the surgeon". I had asked him before this if this was all nerve damage and of course he vehemently denied it. He wouldn't even go over the results of the EMG that he ordered for me with me! After that he became very rude and tried to hustle me out the door. When I received the surgical notes, Dr, Weiss had stated in his words , "definite nerve root impingement. He never told me. I am currently unemployed and can no longer perform my job due to all the nerve damage in my leg. In my opinion, he waited too long to perform the surgery, but of course it cannot be proven. I am utterly depressed as my life will probably never be the same. He may have helped some people, but would YOU want to be the one he misdiagnoses and causes permanent nerve damage? read more

My kid went to OAA for a simple fracture. They took Xray; voila simple fracture. I asked Dr. Weiss how they would bill this as I have an $11000 out of pocket. He said global. I told him this was a simple thing; get cast; remove cast; done. He said "that's how they bill" and "at the end of the day it all evens out". Evens out in his pockets! I almost dropped off my chair. Total time in his office MAYBE15 minutes. I am a single mom that cannot and do not have funds for him to "even out". Finally, got the EOB and they charged for a surgery which he did not get AND a visit (which is the only thing they refer in their website) WATCH OUT PEOPLE. Bottom line, my insurance got involved. OAA replied "that's how we bill". SO, they wash their hands. Why? BECAUSE THEY CAN. The insurance "they can't do anything". SO, I get screwed. It is such a racket!! Why: BECAUSE THEY CAN BE! This is the only industry that can charge you for services not received. I would not refer anybody to OAA. read more

OAA has been EXCELLENT to say the least. They have helped my 5 children with sports related injuries from broken feet, broken leg, broken hand, dislocated shoulder, to a host of knee injuries. They caught fractures that the ER missed and from 8 years old right through four years of college basketball I wouldn't go anywhere else. In addition to my children my mother had her hip replacement done at OAA. I have referred multiple friends here with all having positive results!
