Love this place. The coaches are young professionals and all of the kids loves coming here. The staff is knowledgeable, and they let the kids have fun while learning about Gymnastics & Ninja. Best prices for classes on the island!

Really fun escape room. They have 4-5 rooms. Medium to low level of technology for the rooms. The puzzles were challenging enough that it kept up entertained. They weren't so difficult that it was overly frustrating. Been back a couple times. Every room I've done was well planned and fun. Highly recommend.

It's in a bit of a random spot off the street, and really can't see it from the outside until you walk in a bit to see the entrance area, which is a small area. Staff here were friendly, and also helpful in helping us with the escape during, especially since this was a family event with a younger kid, they probably felt bad for us, and we were not doing great overall, lol. Definitely exceeded that 3 hint limit! The room we did was the Y2K one, which was certainly a fun blast from the past room. For those who were 90s kids or fondly remember the 90s, this will definitely be your jam. The room itself was wide ranging of difficulty, while I wouldn't recommend for beginners, it's certainly got a good balance between difficult puzzles and easier ones. The room is also good for kids. Nothing jumpy with it that happens with this one, though, they might miss a lot of the references. But hey, if you're bringing your kids here you can tell them all about the things in there, "Back in my day...", and remind yourself how old you are! Anyways, don't want to say too much and give anything away. Have fun with the escape at Breakout Waikiki!

We were looking for something fun to do with our daughter on the long Labor Day weekend especially…read morebecause we rarely get weekends off together, so we wanted to make it as special as possible. She loves the idea of escape rooms, but panics when we're in them LOL! I scoured the internet for something we haven't done before and all the escape rooms were either too pricey, wouldn't explain how to escape when we inevitably didn't breakout, or didn't have private escape rooms. Then Google suggested Scaventours which in all my days of searching never appeared! Scaventours is on the ground floor of Marriot Waikiki. Opposite side of the hotel from the Valet. The side with the tour bus pickup. The sign says they're open daily from 9-7 I believe, but you can look up the games and book online. We booked our game morning of and all went well. There's no parking, so we parked at the Zoo like they suggested. We parked at the back half of the zoo (Mauka side) and just followed that road straight pass Denny's. That path lead us straight to the correct hotel entrance to find Scaventours easily. ALSO, the Zoo Parking wasn't taking debit cards and my husband only had a $10. He paid for 2 hours but the machine didn't give change so we got ripped. Be aware of that when parking there. After reading up on the games, I decided we would do Kanaloa's Curse. A scavenger hunt that stayed INSIDE the hotel with various puzzles fit for ages 6-11 even though some of them had me stumped. I appreciate that the game isn't timed and that there was an option to stay inside the hotel because I'm not trying to take my 7yo scavenger hunting on the streets of Waiks. It was super reasonably priced at $23 for my husband and I and $14 for my daughter. We were given the map and a clipboard of puzzles, complimentary pens and candy and we were off. The hunt took us through the ground floor of the hotel finding different things and solving puzzles. It took us just about an hour with my 7yo finding everything and doing every puzzle, so it was PERFECT for her!! At the end, we returned to the store, unlocked the treasure, she got some prizes, and we took photos with the mascot raccoon statue. She was immediately begging to do the rest of the hunts. Successful find both Scaventours and the actual scaventour!!!!

This was so fun!! A nice way to experience Waikīkī and play a game at the same time. The owner was…read moreso nice and helpful as well. Would do it again!

By far one of the more fun mud runs I've done! We ran the 2019, 10am heat and it was a blast ever…read morein the drizzle! The obstacles were the right level of challenging for the casual OCR'er though I wish the high walls had footholds for those of us height and upper body challenged lol! The river walk was refreshing after the mud crawls but definitely watch your knees because the net crawl included lots of rocks! Outside of the obstacles, the event was SUPER organized even with the ranch tour groups passing us by. Seriously will run this one again BUT will have to take a 4-wheel drive truck to get OUT of the parking lot. Huge thanks to the guy behind us that helped us get the car out of the mud!

Yelp 365 Challenge x 2 #277/365…read more Yelp 100 Challenge #21/100 You always read about supporting local and buying local. But, you mainly associate it with food (produce or meats), clothing, household items, etc. However, here is something local in regards to sporting events! And not just any sporting event but an OBSTACLE COURSE RACE / MUD RUN EVENT! I'm so surprised that there is no review of this event unless it is under a different name? The Makahiki Challenge has been around for the past three years I believe because I remember one of my friends sharing about her experience last year or the year prior but I paid it no mind until the Warrior Dash. One of my co-workers was so hyped about completing the Warrior Dash and the fact that it was stress-free for her because there were no penalties if you decided not to complete an obstacle, that she was anxious for the Warrior Dash to roll around again. I shared with her about the Makahiki Challenge. She signed up. I decided to sign up and surprise, surprise...my family signed up too. What is the Makahiki Challenge? From their website info: Makahiki Challenge is meant to be an annual challenge for the people of Hawaii and it's visitors. It is a chance to compete, challenge ourselves, celebrate, enjoy, and respect this beautiful island that has continued to provide for us. Here's a few more things about the Makahiki Challenge: -It's held at Kualoa Ranch (same location as the Spartan Race) -It's 3+ miles -10 to 12 obstacles, which includes an AMAZING huge slide! -Cool swag -Beautiful finisher's medal -Paina after-party (I didn't get to stay but it looked fun and crazy!) with well-known local bands -Beautiful scenery -It's filled with aloha and full of fun -The price of the event was really reasonable for an obstacle course/mud run event -No penalties if you do not or cannot complete an obstacle -Local sporting event with local sponsors (Note: If you're a company looking to sponsor or volunteer check them out if you want to help out this event. It's worth it!) The 2014 Makahiki Challenge was my first year to do this event and I have to say that it was one of the most fun events especially because my family joined in (we created our own team name and wore team shirts). The registration and packet pick-up was smooth. The obstacles were challenging, fun yet sturdy (I still can't get over the slide). It didn't matter if it rained in the 2nd half of the race because it was getting too hot anyways. From the parking to the vendors, everyone was super friendly and helpful. In my opinion, if you're looking for an event that is not really intimidating, family-friend/group oriented or individual and local with the taste of the islands, be on the lookout for the next Makahiki Challenge (2015!!!) because you don't want to miss out on this obstacle course/mud run event. Check out their website or Facebook page!
