I needed to find some entertainment on somewhat short notice for my wedding reception and kind of stumbled on Oahu Photo Booths. They had great reviews and the prices didn't seem absolutely insane like some of these other places so I contacted them. Matt was super responsive and answered any questions I had and had no issues with booking 3 weeks out. Getting a quote was fast and the whole thing is pretty customizable and we got payment and details set within a week. The day of, Pam came an hour early to our reception venue to set up. She was a true professional despite a bunch of obstacles (mostly the wind/rain and also my family). Unfortunately, the printer did not work at the time of the ceremony but Matt made it right and mailed me them not too long after we got back. We hired them for our sons first birthday party and were very happy. Overall product was stellar. They worked with us to design the print of our photo templates. Greta props for the Photo Booth. They were punctual and very quick to set up and break down. In fact they stayed a little bit longer just because our guest were lollygagging until the last minute to take their photos. Seems like I'm always running into Oahu Photo Booths at various events around town. A few times per year they work events for non-profit organizations. They're always friendly, approachable, kind and sporting a smile. Something I've never seen before are the inflatable props that they bring for events. What also caught my eye is the crazy large 5x7 prints they give to guests. From what I understand, the standard in the industry is 4x6 and he prints 5x7 every night, all night long! He has a one print per person policy. That means, if requested, everyone gets a print. No exceptions. The prints are immediately saved to an online gallery where guests can view, save and share to social media. Their rates may be slightly above average, but after you hire them, it quickly become obvious why they're so popular. Don't waste your time with any other operation! THE BEST PHOTO-BOOTH COMPANY to have at your event!!!! I searched and searched on Yelp for a photo booth company to have at my wedding. I called and spoke to Matt for prices. Since this was a last minute add on to have at our wedding it took my husband and I about a week to decide on if we wanted to have a photo booth for our guests or not. We finally decided to have one and we are so thankful that we found Matt!!! The price was reasonable and worth it. After placing our deposit Matt set up a Skype call with us to work together on a layout that we wanted (he listened to our wants and offered his suggestions as well). The process was fun, easy, and customized to exactly how we wanted. Fast forward to August 8th, 2015, Matt set up the photo booth at our wedding reception (Dukes Waikiki) ON TIME and QUICKLY!!! He was present the entire time of my wedding and was so nice to all my guests. During our reception (which was outdoors), we had some tropical rain. The photo booth glitched a few times (due to the rain hitting his equipment), Matt kept calm and assisted my guests every single time. Everyone was able to take as many photos as they wanted and grab as many copies as they wanted. A copy of each photo that was taken on our wedding was kept aside to be placed in our scrapbook where our guests were able to leave us a little note/wish. I can't believe it took me this long to write a review! We hired Oahu Photo Booths for my daughters first birthday party in December. Of course planning way in advance, I had my options on who I wanted for our photo booth. My husband did his research on Yelp and insisted on Oahu Photo Booths, while I wanted some place else that I had prior history with. After looking at the prices that was offered by Matt and Oahu Photo Booths, how could I turn it down? The other place that I was looking into was twice the amount for the same thing. We got the cube, 4 hours, unlimited photo's, online gallery, etc. Everyone had so much fun in the photo booth! I loved viewing the pictures on the website. It also helped me decide how I wanted the layout. We paid the extra for a customized layout but, in the end decided that we actually didn't need it. Matt was kind enough to refund us our money since we did not use that service. I really appreciated that he also printed out single prints of the best shot for people. It was nice because it didn't have any border or anything. Just their picture that people could hang on their wall or put on their desk at work. It's nice to see it on my friends desk as a reminder of how much fun they had at our party. Seriously, photo booths are expensive and they all pretty much do the same thing. I'm disappointed to even have to write this review as I don't like to say anything bad about anyone. However, I feel that it's important for businesses and clients alike to know about each other and help each other out by mentioning the good and bad. Maybe it can be used as constructive criticism to help improve the quality of work ethic. First off let me say that Matt (owner of Oahu Photo Booths) was very helpful and responsive to all of my correspondence and inquiries. He made great suggestions and even face-timed with me to determine if my venue would work with the booth I wanted. He has great products and the price compared to most of the companies on the island, is extremely reasonable. He is the only company on the island that has the photo cube and it was perfect for my Halloween function. We agreed on all the terms, price, venue, and date. He promptly sent me a contract and invoice and I paid it immediately. Two weeks later and now closer to my function, I get an email from Matt to say he had to cancel his services and booth for my party because he double booked. I got on the phone with him immediately and he apologized and said that he chose the other party because it was booked first. He went on to tell me, "You understand that right? It's only fair and good business if I go with the first booked party." My thoughts were that it's good business if you don't double book in the first place. In a business like that, I would think that you immediately look at your calendar before you commit. After much thought, I felt that maybe he got a better deal, something closer to where he lives/works and maybe even a "bigger fish" than I and went with that party. Now I'm stuck scrambling for another photo booth to work my function. I got my refund back which was nice but I'm still disappointed that he cancelled on me. When he offered his apologies to me, he mentioned that if I need his services in the future, he would be happy to help. That's nice but I think it would have helped if he offered an incentive to try him again in the future. At this point, I'm not willing to secure his services again with the fear that he may cancel. read more

I'm sure you have seen many photo booths available at events. I think I have seen 3 to 5 different ones. This one is top of the line. Prices are comparable to other photo booth companies. Awesome option for graduation parties, birthday parties, or other events. Great service. Great customer service. Staff is willing to work with you to create and customize a template for your photos (can have logos, pictures, different fonts, multiple pictures, etc). I've seen some companies limit how much photos you can take at an event. One company limited you to only one photo per family. Oahu Photo Booths allow you to take as many as you want! Depending on the location/space of your party, you may have a 5' x 5' red booth available. A red background is available but you can check with staff to see if other color options are available. Privacy is available so that others do not watch as you take photos (We decided to have it 3 sided since it could get hot inside there). Bright lighting if event is indoors. Comes with a variety of props (more props than some other companies). They have props like most photo booths have (big glasses, feather boas, and hats) but also have clown noses, picture frames, and fake mustaches. Can fit 4 people comfortably or 8 people squeezed together. One of the cool things is that it is touch screen meaning you can begin it when you want to. Countdown tells you when your picture will be taken. Screen shows what your pictures will look like. Another cool thing is that once you are finished taking pictures, you can print multiple copies of photos (like many people do) OR you can have the photos texted to your phone, shared on Facebook, or sent to your email. Having these choices are pretty cool. Is it worth it? I say yes. After all, I would not write a long review if I did not think they were so good. Matt is very friendly and responded to my emails in a timely manner. Booking is done online and there is a discount if you pay in full up front when you book. I was also able to customize my background for the photos no additional cost. The Party Cube photobooth was a hit, especially with the kids. Set up and take down was very fast, he was ready to go at the designated time. What I really really like about using Matt and Oahu Photo Booths is that he was happy to print out MULTIPLE COPIES of the photos so that each person in the photo can get one, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL COSTS. It was always a bummer when I took photos at parties with family and friends, and there was only one photo given to all of us. That was a huge selling point for me and the guests definitely appreciated that and took advantage. There is a very nice selection of props--hats, signs (which I believe Matt makes himself) and funny items. They appeared clean and in good condition. And they WERE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE, another big plus in my eyes. Matt was also super friendly with the guests, many times adjusting the camera so it focused on the guests or centered on them. He knew when to use chairs to prop up the kids in the photos and made funny faces to get the babies to look at the camera. Extremely easy to work with and efficient at his job. I am not someone to say bad things about services but I am writing this review because I was shocked at the service I was given. I booked oahu photo booths about a month before my event and I was super excited about it because we were referred to this business from someone who really respected and enjoyed it. I filled out the online application for oahu photo booth and the next day I got an email regarding payment. I paid in full in the next couple days so that my reservation would be confirmed. A couple days later I got an email from Matt and we were emailing back and forth about the template design and game plan for the day. At first I had planned for the photo booth to be inside the facility of my event but later changed it to outside the facility because of space. I had emailed Matt and he was totally cool with it, he just wanted to make sure that his equipment would stay dry in case of rain. I was totally understanding about that and had told him he would be in a lanai where he would be totally covered. The day of the party he had gotten to the venue of my party before I had to set up and was complaining to the staff at the venue that he didn't want to be outside because it was "too hot". He was also saying that he was told he was going to be inside, but I had emails confirming that he was going to be outside. I did not want to cause tension with him because I really was looking forward to the photo booth, that I changed my whole layout at my venue and let him be inside. An hour later the party had started and I was letting everyone know that they should try out the photo booth. Some were going to the photo booth to try it out but then I had learned from someone that his printer for the pictures was not working. Since his printer was not working a lot of my guests did not want to take pictures. He was trying to fix it and was letting people send the pictures to their phones but the point of the photo booth was that you were able to get the pictures and print out as many as you want. The pictures were also not even getting sent to phones. I had paid for people to be able to get their pictures printed out, not sent to their phones. After about an hour and 15 minutes, his printer began to work. He was only scheduled to stay for 2 hours, so I hoped he would apologize and say he would stay longer because his printer was not working, or offer a refund. He stayed maybe half and hour extra from the 2 hours. I also heard from my guests that he was being rude to them because he wanted to close the booth but some still wanted to take pictures. At the end of the night I was pretty annoyed with his service. I had paid a lot for his photo booth service of two hours and I got maybe an hour of what I paid for. Maybe it was just a bad day for him, but I would not recommend this service. read more
