We have seen her once a year or twice a year for three years for my two son's various flu and other injuries. We are so grateful she is there. Please don't leave, Dr Kelly! If every provider were like her, our medical field would be serving all patients SO well. Here's why: She always thinks of everything without me even asking, from meds, to at home things to do, to a school note, without hesitation. She always makes a little bit of small talk with my sons, but it's like she really cares. Bonus: The place is clean, the front desk staff is friendly, calm and efficient. They smile and are efficient and great with insurance and I haven't ever received a crazy bill from them ever. The wait time has never exceeded 15 minutes. We are out within 45 min including payment and lab tests. I am not getting paid by them to say all this stuff LOL haha! I don't know anyone there either....but I just have to call out this example of urgent care DONE RIGHT. Dr Kara's-Hedrick, DNP, please always continue being the best urgent care provider we've seen! Dr. Paul Baubly and Dr. Kate Baubly are both great doctors. If you have an appointment, they see you at the time of your appointment. They spend as much time as needed to hear about your issues and examine you and explain how to proceed. They are proactive about vaccinations and preventative care and diet. I have never had anyone treat me with anything other than respect and compassion at their clinic. This is not a corporate run health-mill like most practices have now become, which I love.

I saw Dr. Yoo to have a growth removed, and it was a decent experience. Nevertheless, everything…read moreelse was a mess. First, his secretary is rude and difficult to work with. Every time I have called to schedule an appointment, she acts as if she is doing me a huge favor. I have scheduled all of my appointments at his Glenview location, however, when I turned up for my appointment, I was told that the doctor was not in because I had been scheduled for the Chicago office. Even though I took the day off work, there was no apology, and she made it difficult to reschedule. When I returned to the Glenview schedule after taking the day off work AGAIN, Dr. Yoo and his nurse were very friendly and approachable. The procedure went well and I felt comfortable. Dr. Yoo did the interior stitches, but had a resident do the outer stitches. While the Dr. is very personable, I am surprised to see others state that he explained things well. Dr. Yoo did not explain what he was doing or offer any information if I did not ask (or know to ask) first. When the procedure was finished, I was given discharge papers by the nurse, I was taught how to properly care for my wound, and told I would need to take an antibiotic. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and there was no order placed. I called Dr. Yoo's call center, where they said they would page him, and still, after several hours, my prescription was not called in. I called several times again, and was told this time he would be paged "urgently", and my prescription was still not called in, and then the pharmacy closed. This is unacceptable. The staff at the call center were very courteous, but they asked for lots of details regarding my medication that should not be my responsibility as a patient: what dosage of the antibiotic I need, what frequency - how should I know? I'm not the doctor. I can't even imagine if this had been an emergency - the doctor is nowhere to be found! It took almost 24 hours before I was able to procure my prescription, and by then, my wound was a bit inflamed. This likely could have been avoided if the Dr. made it possible to adhere to his own plan. Eventually the next day, a nurse did call and apologize, and my prescription order was sent to my pharmacy. In Sum/TL;DR: Dr. Yoo and his nurses are nice enough, but his secretary is rude and things are poorly organized. I would consider going in again to have something small removed, because believe it or not, he was easier to schedule with than other dermatologists (e.g. shorter waiting times for appointments, accepts most insurance, convenient location). However, be advised: Dr. Yoo is pretty much impossible to reach if there are complications or if something happens after-hours, and if you are having a serious procedure, the risks aren't worth it.

I have read varying reviews of dermatologists in the Chicago area. Not surprisingly they vary…read morewidely, akin to those of cosmetic surgeons. Expectations play a large role in these. I had two lip lesions that were benign but slowly growing and I wanted them removed. My dermatologist at Chicago Lakeshore Medical, Dr. Smith, recommended a certain type of laser for the lips, found at the NMH dermatology department. I called for an appointment and received a consultation within two days - very unusual and positive. When I was seen by Dr. Yoo and a medical resident, timely by the way, they suggested that if I could just wait for 15-20 minutes they could perform the procedure. Of course, I accepted, popped down to Corner Bakery for a sandwich and returned. The doctor and his staff were compassionate, efficient and professional. The laser did not hurt whatsoever even though they warned me; of course I had topical anesthetic. Their promise of rrsults is evident three weekds later. The elsions have all but disappeared. It helped me that I had prior minor surgery to remove one under my upper lip because Ihave herpes simplex andamy disruption or wound causes fever blisters and swelling. But the effect of the laser was minimal and I am very pleased. Such therapy is expensive but worth it in my case. Dr. Yoo made a return visit for 4-6 weeks but it won't be necessary. The office is very efficient and comfortable in the Arkes Family Pavilion on St. Clair.

Dr. Cudahy is a dream come true. She is both my mother's and my primary care physician…read more Dr. Cudahy became my physician around the time when I was having full blown panic attacks. She was incredibly understanding and sympathetic and made me feel a lot less crazy than I felt. My mom had just moved to Chicago and didn't have a primary care doctor but was exhibiting some erratic behavior and was having trouble with her memory. I brought my mother in to see Dr. Cudahy, who concluded that she was likely experiencing the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Dr. C referred us to the neurologists at Northwestern - telling us that she believed in sending patients to the best resources in the city - she rattled off the resources that exist for cancer patients and heart problems and promised me that Northwestern was the place for Alzheimer's care. Later, my mother had a herniated disk. After initially taking her to an emergency room in the western suburbs, I called Dr. C and she walked me through getting my mom into Masonic so that she could personally check up on her. Since then, we both have annual check-ups with Dr. Cudahy and both my mother and I are huge fans. My mom gets excited about her doctor's appointments, and I'm just relieved to be going to someone who I trust so much. (During the midstages of her Alzheimer's my mom would talk incessantly about "Hootahay" - her version of Dr. Cudahay.) Not to mention she's insanely smart, down to earth, and a wonderful (and empathetic) human being. WE LOVE HER!!!

Her location in East Lakeview is great, such that in the event that I need to hobble to the doctor from my house on a sick day, I can do so without significant effort. The facility is nice, and is associated with a highly ranked hospital, and her office is one door down from the lab facility. Even better, Dr. Cudahy is an internist, which therefore means I don't need to go to an additional lady doctor, which is great since I'm not having a baby anytime soon and really don't need an OB. She is comfortably chatty, and was interested in both my medical history and my personal history/mental health, and made me feel quite relaxed and trusting. What I found important was that she was non-judgmental - I hate having to brace myself for a reprimand when you're answering such questions as "how much do you drink on a given night" and "are you sexually active," but she was very open and understanding. Oh! Lastly, Illinois Masonic has a pretty good website, so you can see her profile online, as well as book your appointment through a web app. The people in their scheduling department were also quite kind and accommodating, and were able to get me an appointment post-working hours!
