I was trying to get a colon exam completed but the medicine they gave me caused an allergic reaction, so being proactive, I called. I was told that I could not attend my appointment and had to go to urgent care to get cleared first. Therefore, now I may not even be able to get seen and spend extra money out of pocket in addition to their fees. This is extremely inconvenient. However, after my visit, I recommend on customer service and thoroughness. Dr. Seth was great as well as Leslie and other staff that I met. My exam was very thorough, everything was clearly explained and a packet of information was given to me to let me know the nex steps. That I appreciated. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. They are a nightmare. I didn't even make it to the appointment. First attempt I was prescribed a prep that conflicted with my anaphalaxis. After being on a clear, liquid diet all day, they did not get the replacement prep to the pharmacy on time and appointment was cancelled. second attempt a month later, they decided to change my appointment time two days prior to the procedure and expected myself and my driver to be able to meet this change. they call, text and message multiples times a day for weeks but then decide at the last minute I need to come earlier. I don't know about you but this chaos does provoke confidence in allowing them to sedate me and stick a long tube up my behind. Now in search of recommendations for a new place to get a colonoscopy. read more

Since this is not standard for doctor's offices, they owe people more notice as a courtesy. They have a section of their website called "Appt policy" but this section has no mention that if you are over 10 min late, they won't see you. read more

I was 10 minutes late to my appointment and after refusing to see me they wrote in their clinical notes that I was 30 minutes late. I tried calling ahead as I traveled over an hour to get there and the nurse at the desk realized she left the phone off the hook. My experience with Dr Mettu and the staff at Suburban GI was very positive. Dr Mettu is compassionate and really listens. Everyone I encountered was so nice and caring, especially the nurses who took care of me when I went in for a colonoscopy. The anesthesiologist, Dr Grant was so comforting and reassuring. I do think the nurse practitioner I saw truly cared about me, and any procedures I had done were completed promptly and competently. Overall though I'd say my experiences at this office over the course of one and a half years were usually rushed, not helpful, and at times extremely upsetting. After post COVID GI issues that caused me to lose over 40% of my body weight, I was put on several medications which often gave me terrible side effects. Putting messages in to the doctor/nurse practitioner or medical assistant on what to do about those side effects often took over a week to get an answer, even when I called to follow up multiple times. I eventually had to go on short term disability because my symptoms became so bad, and I had the same difficulty trying to get any paperwork filled out. I do understand that paperwork is frustrating/time consuming and appreciate that the office always filled it out, but it took a very long time and sometimes had to be re-completed because it was not thorough enough. My office visits were frustrating- rushed and I did not feel like my questions were answered. I'm not sure I've ever felt so talked down to other than after my last appointment with Dr. Gundlapalli when she told me that I was doing better. This was despite the fact that I was having difficulty functioning on the medication I was on and had lost 5 lbs since my last OV (when the reason I was on the medication was to gain weight). I got the impression the doctor thought I was exaggerating and therefore dismissed me. I have had to see other doctors to validate my symptoms and continue my care. I would not recommend this office to anyone that has a complicated issue. read more

Colonoscopy/Endoscopy: This place is a factory assembly line. If you actually talk to a doctor, you would be an exception. If you are or think you are constipated, tell them the day before, because the standard stuff won't clean you out, and you'll have to go through it again. (They never ask you this ahead of time, so do it yourself). If you aren't having a colonoscopy or endoscopy you will be seen by a nurse practitioner for anything and everything else. And you will never know what your doctor knows or doesn't know about whatever brought you to the nurse practitioner. read more

My doctor prescribed me pills for a stomach issue to take for a month and if they didn't work she had put in a referral to this gastroenterology clinic. The day after the appointment I got a call from the clinic asking about making an appointment. I explained that I was taking prescribed medicine for a month first, per my doctor. Two days later I get a letter in my MyChart "reminding" me to make an appointment. If this medicine does not work, I am tempted to ask my doctor for a referral to a different clinic. read more

I agree with all the people about lack of staff. For MONTHS I have called no less than 50x and no one EVER answers the phone. I tried email and it's one big run around. From dribbles of info i finally got a new prescription for pill form. Still no appointment since.....no one works front desk apparently. But, they do have time to send me letters. I used SG's procedure instructions/confirmation letter to discover my husband's hospital appointment had been changed - no notice. 3 appointments - 2 cancellations from the office. I set up a colonoscopy at Suburban Gastroenterology. At the beginning I went through the typical process of filling out paperwork regarding what medications I'm on and of course I did what I was supposed to do. Leading up to the prep I was already nervous so I just wanted to get it over with. Once I got there I was told by someone in the medical staff to get ready for the colonoscopy. I put on the medical rope then waited. The nurse entered and asked me about my going to the ER 5 months ago because of Plurasy but they wrote chest pains on the paperwork. I didn't stay at the ER so because I didn't get a diagnosis they refused to do the colonoscopy. Although upset I understood. So after going through the prep that was very uncomfortable I was told I needed to go to a cardiologist and get the ok for the colonoscopy. It's been weeks since I got the OK from the cardiologist but every time I call Suburban Gastroenterology they give me a different excuse. Last time they told me the doctor needed to go over the paperwork from the cardiologist. Now they are saying the doctor will call me when they have a opening. As long as i been having procedures I never had to wait for the doctor to call me I was a little suspicious so I had my wife call them back 30 minutes later under a different name and suddenly they were able to schedule. It's bad enough they didn't do their job prior to the first colonoscopy but now they are lying! I hate to play the race card but I have no other cards to play in this scenario. I am an active gastroenterologist, therefore able to be very critical in my review. Based on my spouse's excellent experience with her colonoscopy, I also chose Dr Scott Berger for my colonoscopy yesterday. With appropriate COVID precautions, everything did proceed seamlessly. The staff is very attentive and perform with proper respect for privacy. Anyone would feel safe and comfortable coming here for their GI procedures. Dr Berger's professionalism in his explanation after the procedure and the quality of his colonoscopy report is at the level of what I expect for myself and my patients. They took their sweet time to get me to a doctor and were quick to take a payment and insurance but made me wait 45 minutes. It was only when i asked for a refund they got me in to see the doctor. Ravi Nadimpalli, he's an awesome doctor that truly cares about his patients & makes you feel so comfortable, talking about any digestive issue a person may have/ He's extremely knowledgeable in the field of gastroenterology (Sadly, I've met with doctors who did more harm,than good) Dr. Ravi, treats his patients like human beings, seeking help from a professional in a time of need. He doesn't treat you, like you're just another number, & Your appointment time is being drastically rushed through to get on to the next!! I've experienced that way to many times & I did not feel that way durning my appointment with DR.Ravi Nadimpalli . He really is a great person & a great Doctor. I wholeheartedly trust him & his team. I would recommend him if you're seeking help. The wait time isn't bad, i've never waited more than 15 to see Doctor Nadimpalli. His nurses are all wonderful as well!!! The Quest tech on site, Eric, he's a really cool, pretty funny guy. He helps destress the anxiety some people may have from getting their blood drawn & other stuff. The receptionist girls are all very sweet (they all have awesome hair too!) the girls were very helpful, with the some of the forms I needed to fill out prior to my appointment. This clinic has been truly wonderful to work with. This center was referred to by my general practitioner for a procedure. Location was easy to find, plenty of parking and convenient systems in place to maintain Covid safety protocol for arrival and post procedures. The scheduling and consultation was easy, friendly, informative and extremely accommodating to any of my questions and concerns. Dr Jain and his staff were friendly, patient, empathetic, upbeat, supportive with the steps for process from start to finish. The communication on all steps leading up to procedures are accurate and clear. I highly recommend following the directions leading up to it as it was helpful to stay on course for prepping. The procedures was surprisingly pleasant and painless. Literally as if it never happened and to include a refreshing nap. Post recovery was wonderful in clinic includes a refreshing drink and snack, while communicating any follow up of anything significant from Dr Jain. Worst place to go for GI ! Very poorly run doctors office, we agree with the other bad reviews Dr. Kiriluk, didn't hear what the issue was I came in for. She just prescribed a bunch of tests for something I didn't even came in for, when I looked at the prescription sheet. Then it took me over a week to get a hold of her nurse to explain it, now still waiting again over a week to see what the doctors says about testing for the right things. I am so glad I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Gundlapalli. She did not seem rushed at all and listened to all of my concerns. It was also very obvious that she took the time to review my records from another doctor prior to entering the room. She was just wonderful! The nurse was also very kind, which is almost just as important. A week after my appointment, I had my procedure and was so impressed with how it smoothly it all went. Dr. Gundlapalli came in the room after the procedure to explain everything and then I also received a print out with pictures and discharge instructions. Overall, I highly recommend!!! read more

Do not go here for a preventative colonoscopy. During this colonoscopy a small polyp was removed as well as 2 biopsies of the colon (drs words) They will charge you with ppo insurance over 500.00. I was under the impression since I suggested to Dr. K I should get a colonoscopy due to a request by my primary doctor since I was over 50. The request was on My Chart along with other preventative requests. Upon receiving 1/4 EOB from my insurance totally 500.00 I noticed I was charged over 3000.00 (same exact amount) twice with no explanation of charges. I have tried contacting their billing by phone 10 times leaving at least 6 messages and also speaking with the office manager once. Three times- at 2:06, 2:08, and 3:17 on the same day Kelly finally returned my call. I was grocery shopping and returned her call at 3:32, 3:56, and 3:57 and left messages. Sorry, but two calls from Kelly 2 minutes apart and then one more within the hour are not sufficient attempts to discuss this matter. The office manager, whose name I have written down in my notes is of no help. 12/17 is the date I first attempted to speak with Kelly and still haven't. This experience had been horrible. I have been a patient here for several years (based on a recommendation from a friend). I have 2 ailments that are lifelong. I was seeing Dr. Ravi (who was great) and now I see Dr. Mettu (who is great). I have never had a problem with any of the staff. They understand my ailments very well (1 is pretty rare). I feel I have been treated with kindness, understanding and respect. I have never felt like "just another number" here. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone. read more
