This place saved me from ultimate insanity at the end of last year - and as a hard marker of child care and education centres in general - I can't speak more highly of this bunch. Move to a new city, my four year old taken away from her day care centre, now at home with boring mummy all day, and then mummy has another baby. AAARRRGGHH! I quickly realised that my daughter needed at least one day of stimulation per week in a child care setting with kids her own age. Enter the Oak Park Children's Centre...sigh. From the moment I went in to check the place out they made my daughter feel like part of the group, the orientation process was thorough and I was made part of it which was fantastic. Not coming into the centre into half way through August, her teachers still managed to put together a report of her time there, together with a bunch of arts, crafts, writing and other bits and pieces she'd done in her time there. Complete with end of year concert and break up with Santa and presents, I was amazed at the professionalism but happiness and joy I felt everytime I went here. My daughter went to kinder this year at another centre but still speaks of her short time at OPCC. Permanent, long day care places available from just six weeks of age to five years. Kinder program also available in the four to five rooms. Highly recommended. read more

Friendly and caring staff in a safe and happy environment. It's not the newest, nicest or biggest centre, but it's more than acceptable for the kids. 3 rooms indoors for the different ages, and 2 outdoor areas for them to play. Busy road nearby, but the kids are safely jailed behind both doors and fences/gates. Limited parking, so the adjacent street gets a bit busy during peak period. read more

My son went to this centre for over a year and the following occurred: My son came home with welts from bites everyday (I am talking raised individual teeth marks). Every accident I was told noone had witnessed it - What are they getting paid for?...! One day he came home with nappy rash so severe his skin peeled off his backside - this required medical treatment and the Doctor had stated the only way this could have occurred was if a soiled nappy was left on for at the very least an hour or two. Went to collect my son from the centre and staff couldn't find him, he had walked out of the room and was in an office with a pen in his mouth (this is just when he started walking so imagine if he fell). Last but not least, arrived at centre to collect my son had been told they didn't get to play outside due to rain but my sons pants were soaked from the bottom to half way up his leg - turns out he got out the front door! BEWARE! I have never felt so guilty about how long I kept my child at this centre. It is the worst thing I have ever done as a parent. I am not a mean person but I believe good and bad reviews should be available especially when it concerns your children. I have already stopped one of my friends placing her child in the centre. Again it is your choice but I would never do it again. read more
