I drove all the way from bay city to see a person named Dave, waited a week to get the appt. Got there and, "oh I'm sorry, David came close to a Covid so he's not here for two weeks. Sorry somebody should have called you". NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Up They had my number and I don't want a phone call, or a stupid zoom call. I want a human being to talk to. They are very rude. They weren't that great on the phone, but I wasn't going to rant about it. Be careful coming here. You might want other places, they want your money though. Thumbs down for this place. read more

Dr. Vora is a quack. This a doctor that knows nothing and is condescending and arrogant and does not listen. Treats all patients in a boorish, sometimes confrontational tone and even the staff like they are personal servants. My family had a horrible experience with this doctor. If you need family counseling or private counseling, do not go to Dr. Vora. Dr. Vora only believes drugs are the cure. That is stupid. I also watched in horror as Dr. Vora violated HIPPA law by calling patients in the waiting area by their full names. You are NOT allowed to do that. That is a direct violation of HIPPA law and is looked down on in the medical establishment. You can't do that in any doctor office, particularly a counselor's office. Someone needs to report Dr. Vora to medical board. Another gripe, why does the office manager insist on payment before treatment? That is a first. It's inappropriate and unprofessional and you don't pay beforehand. read more

Shatia Marks turned my son away. She said she would take a new pt, so we made an appointment for the following week. We received an appointment reminder text the day before. We get there and fill out paperwork for 1.5 hours. Then when we turn it in, she decides she won't see him. She knew way ahead of time that my son was a new patient and had the nerve to make us wait an hour and a half to turn us away. Never mind the fact that I had to use personal time to come to this appointment, but my son was very upset that she turned him away. Shatia Marks is very unprofessional and uncaring... only a b*tch would turn away a child in need. read more

Frankly I would leave zero stars if I could. My gripe isn't with the counselors or even the psychiatrist on staff. My complaint is with the receptionists and personnel that handles medical records. My counselor and psychiatrist decided that I didn't need counseling anymore and I could have my primary care physician take over prescribing my medication. I went through the process of signing a release form allowing Oakland Psychological Clinic to give my records to my PCP. OVER A MONTH LATER they still had not released my records! After numerous phone calls they finally get around to it, then a day later they call me stating that they can't fax them to my doctor and that I would have to pick up my records and physically deliver them myself. I am running dangerously low on my medication and I'm afraid that I won't be able to get an appointment with my regular doctor in time for her to give me a prescription. The staff at Oakland Psychological is solely responsible for this mishap. Unless you literally have no other options, please do not go here. They are inept at best and negligent at worst. read more
