    Dr. Call is the best! So great with my kids, so approachable and honest. And their new office is amazing!

    I have been a patient at this office for the past three years and, because I do not have dental…read moreinsurance, I have paid out of pocket for every visit. At each appointment, I made it clear that I wanted to pay my balance in full before leaving to avoid any unexpected charges in the future. Unfortunately, I recently received an email informing me that I now have an outstanding balance due to a failure in their computer system. These charges date back as far as 2024 and were never brought to my attention at the time of service. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation has been handled. The lack of communication and accountability reflects poorly on the office's professionalism. Additionally, the staff member I have been working with has shown little concern for resolving the issue or addressing my concerns. As a result, I will no longer be returning to this facility. One of my friends experienced a very similar issue with this same Farmington location, which suggests this may not be an isolated incident. Because of these experiences, they have lost two families as patients. I believe this office needs to improve its billing practices, communication, and customer service. Patients should not be held responsible for years-old billing errors that resulted from the office's own system failures.

They had my son in and out of his braces in 6 months, before we relocated out of state! The billing practices of this office is where they fell flat off the five star rating and into a one star. I mentioned my son was treated for 6 months, however they bill the insurance for an 18 month treatment plan. I was very upfront with the office at the time of treatment that we would be switching dental insurance, and they insisted that as long as my insurer accepted a treatment in progress, there would be no issues. My son's out of pocket expenses were paid upfront and with the insurance change there was a slight adjustment and a small balance due of about $88, sort of annoying, but I paid it. What was huge, was the call a year or so later to let me know that I have a balance of $340 due. I called several times throughout the year to check on my balance with the office until it was confirmed that I had nothing due (we had other treatment plans in addition to my son's). So I am sure anyone in my position can understand my shock at the suddenly due balance, and the explanation I received on this new balance is without a doubt the most obscure billing policy I have ever heard of and experienced. Insurer's have a contracted rate they have promised to pay, so as a medical provider, if you accept this particular insurance, you have agreed to this contracted rate as payment. My initial insurer had a contracted rate that was higher than the contracted rate the insurer's that took over; keep in mind that this office accepts both insurer's rates. This office has chosen to continue to bill at the higher rate, rather than the contracted rate of the second insurer. Here's the kicker, had I just waited on treatment and waited until my new, lower paying, insurance kicked in, I'd owe nothing at this point but, because the second insurer came into the picture after the fact, the office will not adjust what they are charging to the new contracted rate. They are instead charging at the higher, initial, insurer rate and jilting me with the balance. They were deceivingly dishonest about this billing practice. So if you find yourself in a potentially similar position, perhaps it may be best to wait or go to a different provider, but certainly do not ask the staff because they'll only tell you that as long as the new insurer accepts a treatment plan in progress, you will be fine; which take it from me- is definitely not the case.

He worked her in that morning despite her being a brand new patient. He even called the next evening at 7 to check on her. What I was most impressed with is that he recommended against getting her other tooth out and just watching it, a year later that tooth is still there. Awesome dentist, fantastic staff!!!

    We had an absolutely terrible experience--not once, but twice--with Boardwalk…read more The first issue was billing-related. They added charges that felt sneaky and weren't clearly communicated. It was frustrating, but not a huge deal, and I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, the second experience was far worse and is the reason we will never return. I brought my two sons (ages 8 and 5) in for dental work scheduled at the same time in rooms next to each other. After getting a second opinion at Boardwalk, Dr. Doll told me my kids didn't need as much work as another dentist had recommended, so I trusted that and moved forward with treatment there. My 8-year-old had work done with local numbing, and my 5-year-old was given oral sedation. I was very nervous about sedation and clearly expressed those concerns to the dentist and staff. I was repeatedly reassured that my 5-year-old would never be left unattended--that he would be continuously monitored with a pulse oximeter and that a staff member would have eyes on him at all times. Initially, I stayed with my 5-year-old and checked on my 8-year-old periodically. Then things went south with my 8-year-old. After the dentist said he was finished, my son was in significant pain--pain he did not have before. Despite my concerns, I was told it might just feel "different." After a long time of my child crying, the dentist admitted he likely should have done a root canal (as the first dentist had suggested) and would need to re-numb him and perform one. During this time, I stayed mostly with my 8-year-old, who was understandably very upset. Meanwhile, my 5-year-old--who was supposed to be constantly monitored while sedated--was left alone long enough to severely chew his tongue, lip, and cheek. He was sent home with significant injuries inside his mouth. Over the next few days, it got even worse. He was in so much pain that he barely ate for nearly a week. Two days after dental work, it developed into thrush. When I contacted the dentist after hours and sent photos, I was told it was thrush and was advised to start antibiotics. That didn't sit right with me, so I double-checked. Both a quick online search, and a consultation with a physician confirmed that antibiotics can actually make thrush WORSE. We were able to get an antifungal medication prescribed elsewhere, which resolved the issue after a few more days. As a result of this experience, my child missed a full week of school and was absolutely miserable in pain. Throughout all of this, there was no accountability and no effort made to make things right. When we left their office with a chewed lip, cheek and tongue, I was told Dr. Doll would call to check on my son the next day and that also never happened. This entire experience was not only frustrating--it was alarming. I would not trust Dr. Doll or this office with my children's care again. Kyla Badger
