They told us that each room has a descriptive sign which offers insights about the illusions. Also, I loved how interactive everything was because it made for a super engaging experience for my partner and I. So whether you are a kid or just a kid-at-heart (like myself), this museum is an absolute must-see. All I can write is.... be prepared to have your brain twisted and your senses fooled! Lol. Will I return? Absolutely! I need to revisit some of those mind bending displays.

Beautiful and picturesque, the Bradley House is one of the nicest museums in the city. Actually, I hesitate to call it a museum, as it's more a collection of historic properties that all have their own significance, including the Leslie Log Cabin (which was relocated from Port Credit to this site after nearly being demolished). There's a lot to love here. They just built a Native sweat lodge for traditional ceremonies, along with a decorative set of rocks and log seats that are part of class trips to the site. This is the site of some major festivals like Maple Magic, which is usually held every year and has lots of maple syrup-related activities, and the main house itself is filled with all sorts of artifacts and nifty antique items from around the area. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit here. Highly recommended.

This was a big place that train tracks were covered a huge place. There were 4 electric trains running. Each time getting on the train would run 2 rounds, about 5 mins. Due to the lineup was not long, every family was able to ride as many as you like. The staff was so nice to explain the history and help us taking pictures. Train company was separated from the museum, they accept donations to run the train running. After the train riding, we went to the Waterhouse Museum, which it was a small house with machines to demonstrate how the lake water to become the drinking water in the old days, like 1859. The Waterhouse and some machine was rebuilt in 1882. There were 3 levels of the house to visit. Kid activities center was a building next to the museum. Kids can draw or color on the paper, there are blocks that kids could stack together, there are some train tracks and toy trains to be played with. We enjoyed the whole event today. It's a cool museum.

We went through the meusuem in about 40 minutes, and that was stretching it out. Some of our favorite illusions were the clone card table, the galaxy room, the human kaleidoscope, the Tilted Room, the Reverse Room, the Ames Room (shrinking room), the human potted plant, 3D art, the RGB screen, shadow box/flash screen, the Beuchet Chair Illusion, hollow face illusion, swap noses illusion, infinity ladder and various other illusions such as the Müller-Lyer illusion and illusory motion. The museum's couch illusion appears to be unique to this location and is featured. It has the person put part of their body in a hole in the couch and using a fake pair of legs, make it look like they are doing some impossible poses. This is a very nice museum that is a decent place to spend a little time. It is about 30 minutes or so outside of Toronto and my family really enjoyed taking photos there. So much more than just a house, you have the main house, pergola, conservatory, gardeners cottage and Barton House. There are several standard tour options but also specialized tours (like candlelight and women of the Martin House). You can check out the visitors center and wander the grounds for free, but to access the interior you need to book a tour. It is absolutely worth it! The tour guides are well informed and each has their own spin on what they feature, so even if you've taken a tour before, you can go again and learn something additional. I've doon the basic tour, an in depth tour and a candle light tour. The basic tour still gives you an amazing experience with lots of information, but the other tours allow you to experience more of the space (like the second story bedrooms and the Barton House). You end the tour with information about the carriage house (it is also home to the gift shop). You have time after your tour to take in the beauty of the pergola and Nike statue. So many amazing nooks to explore and such beautifully maintained and manicured grounds. If you love architecture, you need to make a stop here.

The other two (living room size rooms) were half empty and had a box full of old dress up clothes, a box of shabby stuffed animals in front of a tiny puppet stage, a built in play kitchen too high for young kids to play with, a pirate ship play structure (the suze of a king size bed) with a "broken- gentle" sign on it, and a few boxes of things to Build a toy house out of sponge stones and wood planks. It is not a museum and I would struggle to even call it a kids play area- the worst $9 I've spent. A kids cafe or playground has more to do. We left in 10 min. Not a museum and angry we wasted time traveling here- false advertising. It's a shabby house with a few old toys.

It was reservation based and everything was set up outdoors with mask mandate in place. We opted for a night slot so we could see the lights better but when we got there, it was such a cold night that we had hard time seeing the fairy homes through our fogged up glasses. Nonetheless, what we could see was magical and beautiful. The tour is self guided using a pre-recorded narration on a device provided by the museum. They also supply you with a map and a stamp card which you can stamp at each fairy house you visit. It was a great fun for my daughter to find these stamps at each fairy houses. Once you find all the stamps, the little ones get a small surprise which was a nice touch! I think we would like to try for a day time tour next year so we can spend more time observing the houses in the daylight.
