I came in scared of god. I was clean from drugs and alcohol for 2 and a half years with this gaping whole still in the middle of my chest. Depressed, angry, bitter. I had some great men in my life that went to oasis and always told me come here you might feel better. I first I attended celebrate recovery, a ministry that celebrates the little accomplishments in life that have been dragging us down. The things I came in with. It took me a good 5 months to walk in the sanctuary and to be honest it amazed me. People worshipping god, people crying, laughing over flowing with joy. They believed in something and I wanted to believe too. So I brought the body and the mind followed. Ever since then I've been going, and when I let god into my life miracles happened. It expanded my purpose, my pain. The pastor doesn't read like the priests I grew up with. He teaches it on a level that I can see it , hear it and believe it. He acts them out with props, videos, and stories. It was what this recovering addict needed, it was the plan all along. read more
