Money has to be paid up front even though you're not quite sure what work you're having done. However, this does distract you from the fear of dentists as you're too busy thinking about the cost to worry about the drill. They do offer interest free credit and a scheme to pay for checkups and cleaning up front but most people use them on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Their service is of the highest quality, the friendliness of all staff from the receptionists,dental nurses to the dentists themselves is always reassuring. Being a "nervous patient" I probably havent been the easiest patient on occcassions-however,Parks understands and sympathizes with this and do all they can to put you at your ease. The enviroment of the dental surgery itself is also comforting,designed and decorated to a very high and modern standard - making it a pleasant, non clinical enviroment to be in. It is important for a dentist to make you feel comfortable and relax. This dental clinic certainly achieves this in my opinion. The dentists themselves are polite and approachable and the receptionist staff are professional and courteous, always remembering to use your name to relax you. It is situated relatively close to the city centre so it is easy to book an appointment to fit around your work or school schedule. I would advise not booking an appointment around 3.30pm, as the school across the street gets out and can make the traffic bedlam.

I have not heard one good comment yet and reception/student staff are rude and unhelpful. Advise your dentist to refer you elsewhere as everything I had been warned about was in fact correct and I wish I had never gone. My child is a minor but I was not allowed to go into assessment with child nor was I provided with a report/update on how the assessment went. As they say the rot starts at the top and trickles down and owner allows his staff to be rude to patients and their families. Appalling service and the only good point is the female Orthodontist has good old fashioned manners and courtesy. This is something which this practice lacked and Stephen Mckenna is rude and arrogant in my opinion. All I can say is you have been warned go to Finaghy instead as much better!

I've been using this dentist for about 12 years now and although I never look forward to going, I know I'll always be treated well and looked after. I can get quite nervous (...it's that drilll noise *shuddder*) but Maria always soothes my nerves and calms me down. They constantly check if you're ok / in any pain or need anything. The staff are always full of friendly chit chat about this that or the other, I always find this quite amusing 'cause half the time I can just about murmur a response (due to the work they're doing in my mouth, makes it kind of hard to reply) All nasty thoughts aside, I'd say Mellor are a quality dental surgery. They call you to remind you of appointments, they're friendly, skilled dentists who make you feel at ease in the chair. All in all not bad for a dentist!

I had phoned at 1pm and was seen and procedure completed before 4pm! Now that's really fast on my past experience of dentists. The actual practice is in the Kennedy centre upstairs and is very new, clean and modern, the dentist was pleasant, informative and performed the procedure painlessly and I mean painlessly! I would and will be recommending this dentist to anyone! Really good job!

I've never been afraid of the dentist luckily but anyone who is should go here, its very relaxed…read moreand everyone just chats away about everything, it doesn't feel like a dentists, its more like having a chat with friends, my last visit has been about eight years ago which is hard to believe now, id gone through a stage of doing stupid things like skydiving, abseiling and horse riding. The horse I was on thought it was "red rum" and in the grand national then it decided to stop... I didn't and cant remember much except looking at it from a strange angle as I flew through the air and landed on my head chipping my tooth. The dentist used a resin and hardened it with ultra violet light, it was a great fix and unnoticeable until a few months later when I fell of a bike and split the same tooth completely in half and had to get even more of it fixed. Lessons learnt and haven't been back since!

I recently had to attend the dentist as an emergency as I managed to loose a crown and break the tooth. I got an appointment the next day and had the remaining tooth painlessly extracted. I think that in this day and age of waiting times this is to be commended. All the staff are pleasant and friendly and NHS patients are accepted. Wether it is for that six monthly or emergency visit it can be a more painless experience at Castlebawn. (In my case if I hadn't been stealing a sneaky matchmaker I could have avoided that emergency appointment !).
