Overpriced but what a small and clean hotel.. A little shabby as for the money but won't regret it.

Great place, clean, quiet. Has mini fridge, micro and Dish tv. Pool and Jacuzzi were clean and maintained. I would definitely stay again!

Lovely hotel and great place to stay while exploring Anza Borrego. Decor was amazing with a…read moreSouthwest feel. My room was very comfortable, clean, and each room features a private patio. I especially love the lantern to help you enjoy night-time on the patio. However, Borrego Springs is a Dark Sky city so you can also simply stargaze. Breakfast is delivered to your room and was delicous. Free parking and free Wi-Fi. Coffee and tea available in the lobby. The Inn does offer two different pool/jacuzzi areas; one is clothing-optional (not my scene). They do keep the pools nicely heated, which was welcome on cooler winter days. Highly recommended.

My husband and i used to go every year before COVID and loved this place. Quiet, comfortable rooms,…read morenice breakfast, great coffee. It was a little pricey for us but worth it for the atmosphere. Now the prices are very high $400-500 a night depending on the time of year. We found a deal for $200 and jumped at the opportunity. I wish we hadn't. The room we had (10) was smaller than our bedroom at home, had only 1 chair and no table. It was hard to sleep with the mini fridge running a foot away from the bed. Breakfast was delivered on a lap tray, Chobani yogurt and some soggy croissants, diced unripe fruit, a handful of granola and some OJ. Pretty sad. The private patio is great. There used to be lounge chairs but not anymore. It's hard to relax in a wooden chair with a thin cushion on the seat and none on the back. We decided we wouldn't let these small issues ruin our stay and enjoyed the pool and spa. The highlight of my stay was feeding the granola to the ground squirrels. The second day a family checked into one of the rooms and the 2 kids were yelling and chasing around while the parents sat looking at their phones ... I had to look at the website to verify it was still adults only, and yeah, it's supposed to be. I hate to be that old lady, complaining about noisy kids but the quiet is one of the main reasons we came here. Outside of the few hours that housekeeping is delivering breakfast or cleaning rooms there is no staff on site. I doubt that we will be back.

I appreciated the fact that the site had EV charging considering the property is in the middle of nowhere. From what I read, it was renovated in the 2010s and the rooms and public spaces (indoors) seem to reflect that. Rooms are attractive and large, the lobby area well-appointed with a historical air about it. However there is an underlying feel of decrepitude about the place. Indoor spaces seem to be the ones that received the renovation attention but the outdoor spaces seem old and neglected. Don't know if that's on purpose but the inside felt more welcoming than the inside. Staff was hardly seen so much so that when I tried to check out there was no one at the front desk to do so with. Amenities are few: cafe, spa, gift shop, bar and one restaurant. However the hours of operation are short for most of them. Service was somewhat poor: cafe ran out of espresso by 8 am, the ice machine was broken, no daily service to room (had to ask for fresh towels). Staff was practically non-existent (felt like a ghost town); professional but not overly friendly. Most guests seemed to spend the majority of their time at the pool (don't blame them, even in early June the heat was stifling). Around the hotel there is literally nothing to see and the area is pretty run down. Getting to anything mildly interesting (such as Julian) requires driving windy roads that take forever. Unless your thing is sitting, in hot weather, around a 1950s-looking pool, and your destination is somewhere near the hotel, I can't recommend this hotel. Pricing is fair but it was June. Wanted to really like this place more than I did.

What a gem! We spent the 4th of July long weekend here to get away from the craziness of the city…read morefor us and our two dogs. Absolutely loved it! Yeah, the heat of summer is nuts, as expected, but we came prepared and the salt water pool is open to swim and cool off. They have a firepit with wood provided, a BBQ grill and two patios to take in those 360 degree views. The rooms are cool and clean with microwave, fridge and coffee pot plus all the amenities we needed - and if we ran out they have a courtesy cabinet to ensure you can get more. They are renewable energy powered and even have a spot to charge your electric vehicle. Robin is a cool lady and very friendly and has this perfect way of giving you your privacy but always being available. We will be back!

We just wrapped up our three-night stay here and couldn't be happier…read more We stayed here once before, maybe 3-4 years ago, and the wonderful owners we met no longer live on property: in their place is the on-site manager, Robin (though the actual ownership of the motel remains the same, as we understand it). She was totally friendly, accommodating, and helpful: a total plus to our experience! Now to the motel itself. For those unfamiliar, it's a very small property with just eight (!) rooms. Its bones are old but it's been renovated and treated with care. The rooms are exceptionally CLEAN and have what you need to enjoy Borrego Springs. I personally found the memory foams bed extremely comfortable. I like a firmer bed but at the same time I think even those with different preferences would still find it agreeably comfy. The rooms have a coffee maker, small toaster oven, microwave, mini fridge, ceiling fan, heater, and air conditioner...as far as appliances go. Everything we used (unused: a/c and coffee maker) worked well! The rooms also have two nightstands, two reading lamps, a small table with two chairs, a closet "nook" to hang clothes, and a full bathroom (only shower, no tub). The shower comes equipped with pre-filled shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner dispensers. As you've probably guessed, no furniture with drawers, but not an issue as there is ample space in the room itself to spread things out, lay out suitcases, etc. The pool is a good size, especially considering how small the complex is, and goes all the way to 8ft! The open air pool area proved a wonderful place to lounge and just enjoy the desert air even if one has no interest in taking a dip. Also great for stargazing at night! Each room also has an additional table and two chairs just outside the door to allow for sitting outside and stargazing. Be aware that there is no wi-fi, television, or hotel room phones (who uses that last one for anything anymore....ever?). If you desperately need wi-fi for something you can just park outside the library (a half-mile away) and do what you need to do with theirs. Many locals told us it's free and fast. Personally got along just fine without any of the three amenities above! Honestly if a hotel lacking a TV is a deal-breaker that says much more about the person than it does the property, just saying! One more thing, you will love the key code entry. Robin will give you a unique code that opens your door that's impossible to forget (you'll see why when you get it) - such an easy and secure system - no more fumbling for some dumb key, and for once you can literally leave everything you don't need at the pool in the hotel room! The rates are excellent, and this motel has it where it counts (cleanliness, service, and specific amenities that add to your stay) - again, this is what every motel should strive to be. They're focused on what you need and they meet those needs well. We personally see no need for us to entertain any other motel/hotel in Borrego Springs - why put effort towards searching for a ruby when you've found your diamond?

With that being said- we brought our own firewood from home, since the bundles were cheaper and had more logs. There's a box of matches provided, next to the fireplace inside. But, we bought our own lighter and some fire starting things to help the process out. * Keep in mind, it does get SUPER windy out here also. So, if you book a room with its own fire pit, put that into consideration. At least when we booked our Rancho, the room description mentions NO TV. So plan accordingly! I gripe about this because the first time I booked Jacumba Hot Springs Hotel, it was not mentioned on their website & I was not mentally prepared for a NO TV status. The pool did look refreshing & we brought our swimwear- but decided not to hop in. Unfortunately there is no hot tub on site. Pool noodles are available. Some lounge chairs are in the sun and a handful are underneath cover. We received our text, the day of check in- letting us know our Rancho would be available by 1pm! By the time we received it- we were just about done with lunch in Julian & took Banner Grade down. That was a bonus! Office was closed by the time we arrived. It would've been cool to play some pool. Had a lovely stay. Location is perfect to grocery store, taco shop, & Carlee's!
