The good: The services were great! The technicians did a wonderful job and were very friendly and hospitable. I got a massage, facial, pedicure, manicure, haircut and style, also make up application. I spent a short time in the sauna. Over all it was a good day. But I left feeling humiliated and misunderstood. Honestly it's as much how they make you feel as how they make you look to me. The bad: I called when I first received my gift card from my husband to ask about details of the day. They said it would be a long day. I would arrive at eight in the morning and not be done until almost five in the evening. I take medication at one in the afternoon that requires me to eat food when taking it. So once my appointment day got closer I was concerned about the long day without food to take my meds. I remembered a salon in St. Louis that offered a meat, cheese, cracker tray with juice or wine for an additional cost. So I called the salon to inquire if they had a snack or lunch option. They did not. That was fine. I can drop a protein bar in my purse and bring my own drink. The problem came when the receptionist who answered the phone was unapologetically condescending in her tone when answering my questions. Rude. Then apparently there was a report that attended me to every techs stationed stating that I had asked about food because three of the ladies commented on it. Although they were polite and kind. But then while waiting in between my hair and make up application a lady grabbed my report paper off the hair stylist table. The lady who grabbed the paper then read it said, "asked about food that's too funny". I was humiliated. It turns out I was given incorrect information my day ended at two in that afternoon which is hours different than five in the evening. I feel like that at any establishment that you spend approximately $600.00 at should not make you feel horrible. My beautiful birthday gift day my husband had lovingly provided for me started and ended on a sour note. I will not return. There is a new full service salon in Anderson. I think I might try that one next month. read more

There is a huge shopping area which was pretty awesome. There are lockers & showers. There is a steam room which I LOVE! It was on full blast! There was also a Red Light hut. There was not a jacuzzi or pool but I'm glad there were 2 of my other favorite amenities. They gave us champagne & wine. I got a massage by Brandy. It was good she put me to sleep. Emma was soooo good at my facial! She is a sweetheart & is a professional! I came in with a party of 4 & 3/4 of us got Emma & we all enjoyed her! My suggestion to the spa is to add an auto gratuity to the bill so all the technicians get tipped for their services. I had to ask if it was included. My girlfriend paid for her massage and didn't even tip because she didn't know so I ended up tipping eight technicians they do deserve it. I have debated for weeks as to whether I should leave a review but after being a loyal customer for 10 years it really hurts to be done poorly by a company that you have supported for so long. I am only in 4-6 times a year and spend roughly $100-$150 for visit so I understand I am not the most profitable client they have but I have also been very consistent with what I have done which makes it even more frustrating that I was made into a Guinea Pig and then treated like I did something wrong when I called in to have it fixed. I have always had highlights foiled in so that regrowth is less noticeable until my last visit where Kylie decided to paint my roots solid with bleach and then only process for a short time instead of longer like we have always done. My hair if processed long enough will go to platinum which is what I choose to do to blend in the gray better. This time my roots were left orange/brassy on a visit where I made sure she knew that I had a concert/date night coming up that weekend (we had not had a date like this in many years, so it was a big deal for me) and we were throwing my 87 year old grandmother a surprise birthday party which means pictures with family. When I called back to ask for it to be fixed I was given a very poor apology and told I would have to miss work to make it back in. I was also denied the option to have another stylist fix my hair because it is their policy to let the original stylist fix their mistake. What happened to letting the customer have what they ask for? I don't write reviews often but this stung and I will not be returning to Oasis for any services including massage or nails that I have also had done in the past. read more

Oasis wants you to buy into the idea that all of their services are so far above everyone else that they can't possibly do anything after other stylists have worked on something. From perms to eyebrows to eyelashes their product is incompatible with anyone else's service. Either the receptionists need retrained as to what the stylists can or can not do or the stylists need better trained to be able to offer more services. read more

This is billed as an upscale salon in Joplin and certainly priced as such. Unfortunately the corresponding service did not match the price or the atmosphere. I got a facial. Paid extra for the deluxe facial which was supposed to include; facial, mask, neck, shoulder and hand massage. My facial included exactly a facial and nothing more. No neck, no mask, no hand and very little shoulder - not even cream or lotion. The room was very cold so it was hard to relax and you were only given a light blanket to cover with. I'm from North Dallas and scheduled a last minute cut at Oasis. I was a bit nervous since I've gone to the same stylist for years, but needed a cut for a conference. The stylist, Moe, was absolutely amazing! Not only did she give me a great cut and style, but she also recommended a little color to help freshen it up before my conference and also shared what I needed to tell my normal stylist so she would know what to do when I get my normal color. My experience with Moe was so good I'm trying to figure out how I can get back to Joplin every couple of months so I can use her from now on. To top it off, the price was AMAZING! I've come to Oasis for haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and a spa day (facial + massage). The girls at the front desk can be a little snobby, which is ridiculous. There's just no reason for that. However, the actual stylists and technicians have all been very sweet. The haircuts are very reasonably priced, I've paid $30-$60 depending on the stylist. If you have a specific price point in mind, be sure to ask when you call to make the appointment. I feel the nail prices are way too high, but that seems to be the standard here in Joplin (somehow the smaller the city, the more expensive mani/pedi!). If you just want a basic polish change, it's cheaper than a full pedicure, and nearly the same service: they remove the old polish, cut/file/do your cuticles, and repaint with a new color. read more

This is an upscale salon and spa in Joplin, so don't expect a cheap haircut. However, my experience there was very good (haircut with Nik). The atmosphere is classy and relaxed, and it doesn't overly smell of chemicals the way some salons do. I had to wait about 10 mins for my appointment, but the waiting area is very comfortable and you get complimentary coffee, tea, soda, or water, and cookies to snack on while you wait. My husband bought me a $500 gift certificate for Christmas. I got a wonderful facial and pedicure. The nails left something to be desired. I just had a dip over my natural nails that didn't last a week. But the $150 eyelash special with Alison was awful. I attempted to call her and sent her an email and paid for my daughter to get hers done two days later. They looked great at first. Not even a week later they were curving downward and flaking off. She cancelled my daughters refill appointment because her husband got in a wreck and hers were a wreck by the second week. My didn't even make it that long so I had already cancelled my appointment by then, because I was not going to pay another $150 to get another crappy job and not be called back. Or emailed a return email. My daughter went to Dr. Flys that night and got redone because they were so bad they couldn't be filled and hasn't needed a fill until three weeks and her eyelashes are BOMB!!! I've had over $100 left on my gift certificate and am scared to go back. I'd love to get my hair done but don't want someone fresh out of beauty school jacking something else up. It's scary because they are supposed to have the best reputation around. That they'd let their technicians not return calls and put out work like that says a lot about a business. Not to just me, but also my daughter. We've got pictures! I don't write bad reviews normally. The more I've thought about this the madder I get. That gift was given in love and I'm very disappointed. This was easily one of the worst salon experiences I've ever had. My sister got married last Saturday so the bridal party made appointments to get our nails done the day before. I assumed we would get treated well since it was such an important occasion. Instead my sister in law was told she couldn't get gel polish because the nail tech didn't have the time. My sister was charged 11 extra dollars just to have her polish removed and I don't think any of us got even a simple hand massage out of the session. The price of your manicure differs depending on who you randomly paired up with and they text/ called each day beginning three days prior to my appointment day to confirm. Oasis was the first salon in Joplin to be a step above the other salons as far as luxury and service goes. The atmosphere is very classy and relaxed. I have received massages at Oasis in the past. I had a man for my massage and ended up requesting him every time because he was perfect! You get a locker to put your things in. They also recommend you come early enough to sit in the hot tub before, and I always try to do that. I have since started using another place for massages as Oasis was a bit expensive for me to buy them regularly, but I still recommend it for anyone that can afford a splurge! read more

At first I thought Oasis was professional and I was in for a treat. I booked an eyebrow wax and facial. After my facial, there was still soap/mask on my nose, cheeks, and eyebrows that I would have been motified to go outside with. The technition saw me in the well lit hallway when she handed me her card so I don't know why she didn't say anything or correct it. There was blue gunk on my face and she was just going to let me walk out of there! When I got home, I thoroughly checked my eyebrows and discovered they were VERY mismatched. Very disappointed with this establishment. I had a haircut at Oasis a few weeks ago and it wasn't great but decided to give it one more try with a different stylist. So yesterday I call several times and keep getting put on hold. Not for 30 seconds or 1 minute, but for four or five minutes. I finally get through and they tell me they are booked. I ask them to call me if there are any cancellations. They call me back and said they had an opening. I later find out they squeezed me in between 2 appointments. ( could partially explain lack of thoroughness?). Anyways, I'm a guy. My hair is not complicated to cut... Trim the top and use the number 4 guard around the sides.. After having to point out some obvious mistakes with the cut, i tip the hairdresser $10 on a $17 cut and come home. Later I notice that there were patches of hair she missed with the trimmer. Especially in the back which she didn't show me. They are closed today so I payed for another haircut somewhere else. What pisses me off is that this has nothing to do with skill. It's just pure laziness and not giving a shit. How hard is it to shave someones head with a trimmer when it has a guard on it!!!??? I don't know how their spa services are but I would avoid the salon. read more
