I actually thought that was all they had in stock. It turns out that they have more supplements on the other side of the shop, a funny way to lay out your store when trying to compare varieties of the same supplement. So look around before making up your mind. They have a pretty good selection of dry non perishable foods. I found their vitamins pricey and the guy a bit pushy. I left the store.

This mini-chain is very similar to my favored "The Grocery" up on Kingsland Road but I just so happen to be down by Spitalfields often enough that I've popped in to this market a few times for the (not-so) essentials. Let's face it, it's a bleak state of affairs down Commercial Street at Tesco Local. I can't even bring myself to go in there. The amount of plastic wrapping and pre-packaged foods just makes me want to barf, no joke. I just can't most of the time, I'd rather go anywhere else. So yes, while As Nature Intended is a bit pricier -- it's also a LOT nicer, has WAY better food things in it and if I want to pay 100 quid for a bag of (basically) snacks, so it shall be done. Sometimes one just wants to feel wholesome, right? Yes. Of particular interest here is their health and beauty section -- well stocked and comprehensive. They carry REN, which I adore and also full range of Wedela which I buy often for the little person in our house. The soups are great, and they have CO-YO (coconut milk yogurt) which is my favorite thing of 2015 thus far. Staff is friendly. You'll be broke but you'll be happy. To add the staff are super friendly and delightful whenever I visit, always displaying a smile on their face and asking if any help is required (it is always the small gestures that count). I can literally spend near to an hour browsing the nut butters, chocolate aisle and fruit pantry, and last but not least - they even provide a sink for you to wash your fruit and veg if you wish to consume it straight away. Also, if you are lucky you may be greeted with a sample of peanut butter or other tasty snack to help you through your shop. Vogel, Viridian )and homeopathy and health foods, they also have a wide range of make-up, toiletries (such as Dr Hausichka and the Jason range) and eco washing products. I usually get a peach juice or a soya shake carton. Alternatives is a nice enough shop but a bit pricey. For instance I can get my peach juice for at least 20p less somewhere else. The good thing about Alternatives is that its local and if you are a practitioner of "alternative" medicine, they offer a promotion scheme and a room in the back of the shop to practice in.

It then took several days to receive a reply. The person who responded, Asheesh Sharma, insisted that the order had been dispatched, but said it could "overshoot" or get lost. The company does not seem to track whether orders are actually delivered or not. No one answers their phone, either. This is a very dodgy company. They have taken my money and are now ignoring my emails. If this isn't a scam, then what is? AVOID

It's no ordinary shop though, you'll find locally-baked bread, ready meals, spices, rices, pulses and fresh local veg. They also have 'healing rooms' where various types of practitioners can give you therapies and alternative treatments. They also supply wholesale foods. They're not some new, trendy company, they've been slogging away since I was a kid in the seventies. Good luck to them and well done for surviving so long!

And if all that isn't enough to give you a healthy glow, there is also a juice bar where you can load up with a shot of health-boosting vitamins. It's a shame they don't stock fresh fruit and vegetables as that would really make it the perfect shop.
