    $275 pile of junk

I'm from Austin and I purchased a tiered water feature from this store for $275. It had one large collection pot with a series of smaller pots that poured into each other. A small pump lifted the water from the main pot to the highest small pot. Anyway, after dragging it home I put some water into the main pot and turned it on. The waterfall sound was nice. About an hour or two later, I noticed the top pot leaking. I touched it to explore why the leak occurred and the pot started disintegrating in my hands. I realized that the top pot was not fired and did not have the black waterproofing coating on the inside like the other pots did. It was basically a mud pot. I called the store and they were going to see if they could get a replacement pot, which would have been hard to install because of tight copper bands around the pot. Anyway, I never heard back from them despite several texts and phone calls. They just ripped me off for $275, and decided to outlast me. Do not purchase from this store. They might seem nice, but their products are Mexico junk so buyer beware. The next time I get to Albuquerque I plan to give them a piece of my mind.

If you are visiting Old town & want to bring something unique out of metal, this is your place. place just draws you in to wander around looking at unusual items. Even if you don't plan to buy anything it's worth a stop, but beware you may find yourself carrying out a treasure

If you are on the old town plaza , chances are high that you will pass through this beautiful shop and I highly recommend going in even if buying something is not on your mind . Exquisite collection and lots of items like rugs , metal garden décor, wall hangings etc .There is something for every kind of traveler. The owner was really welcoming and encouraged us to ask questions. Prices seem very worth the effort they put in.

    Three wall hanging options.

I grew up getting hand-me-downs. Clothes. Toys. Furniture. You name it. So my gut is to always find stuff for free. Consequently I strongly considered just passing through. But, this place was too endearing to pass up. Oaxacan Zapotec House, the newest decor establishment in the Old Town central plaza, has a number of fantastic rugs, wall hangings, and garden trinkets made by their family from Oaxaca, MX. Many of the pieces are hand woven or constructed. There is an amazing variety of patterns and colors. According to Juan, the son of the owner, all rugs are dyed on both sides, which brings out the colors more vibrantly, but also gives the pieces a longer self-life (he says his grandfather has a piece that's over 100 years old). The sizes vary, so you can find everything from a throw rug to a full centerpiece. The diversity of patterns are exceptional. And the prices seem better than the competitors. We bought two rugs and a cross for our home we plan to close on later this month (first time homebuyers). It's probably one of the best purchases I've ever made (the rugs and the home). It feels great to support artisans in their craft and a local small business, instead of looking at the mega rug emporium or World Market-type places. Adulting is more rewarding than I ever imagined.

Son and father team are the owners and weavers.
