The exterior is quintessential old German and interior is very warm and cozy. I sat inside upstairs and had a lovely view of the town square. As for the food, I am typically not the biggest fan of schnitzel but had to have one while in Germany. I was pleasantly surprised and very much enjoyed my dinner. The menu is an interesting fusion of traditional German and crepes? I came in the early evening and it was already fairly busy, so I'd recommend making a reservation. This restaurant specializes in Frankfurter 'soul food', if you can call regional dishes 'soul…read morefood'. They have "Handkäse" which is a pretty stinky type of cheese served with picked onions on top. They also have more hefty meat and potato dishes. I got the Fränkische Wurste on top of Sauerkraut. It was good and they have caraway seeds on the table, ready to go! And, of course, since they are a Frankfurter Restaurant they have Apfelwein (Apple wine). This stuff is relatively low in alcohol; I'm guessing in the neighborhood of about 4% abv. On top of that, it is cloudy and not heavily carbonated. The aroma is strongly of apples but you can't really taste them, instead it is tart with hints of horse-blanket. You might call it 'rustic'. The restaurant is situated at a T-instersection, but about 4 roads come together around the intersection. In any case, the city made a little plaza by this intersection and Weida's outdoor seating takes advantage of that. The contrast between the outdoor and indoor decor can be shocking. Outside, you sit on benches at tables and the surface is new and dark and fairly open, even though there are buildings all around. Inside is typically German with lots of wood and low ceilings, as well as longer tables so you can share your table with another party. I've only been once, but from what I hear, the quality of the food is consistently good and the price is well worth it. Especially if you are just visiting for a short trip, you should go to Weida!

(Surprise Surprise ) We wanted to eat authentic German meals In römerberg frankfurt it's more known for the Christmas time shopping but they have authentic spots we decided to try Possmann. You kinda pick any available table we sat outside. The menu has descriptions in English of what the dishes are. I went with the Pork Schintzel (I just had tooo) my husband didn't ask my opinion and he kinda just picked a meal. (He's my picky eater and he usually gets my input when he tries something he's not used too) We both drank a light German beer, the mugs are HUGE for me at least. My meal came with a small salad with sour cabbage. When our meals came my husband was surprised he order a sausage with potato salad. My dish looked sooo yummy and perfect. I tried his sausage (no minds in the gutter) and potato salad it reminded me of kielbasa and potato salad had pickles mixed in. My salad with the cabbage was delish so fresh and the dressing was not overpowering! The pork was fried perfectly and it was soooo moist and tender!! They served it with fried potatoes and they were cooked perfectly. Omg my husband ended up eating my food and gave me his. He's not a potato salad guy ‍‍ I honestly loved both dishes I felt like a little piggy since I ate from both dishes but sooooo worth it.
