I visited this store and explored financing for an engagement ring and filled out what I was told was a simple financing application. At no point did anyone verbally tell me I was applying for a credit card, nor did they show me any written disclosures. Later, I discovered they had actually signed me up for a credit card without my knowledge or consent. When I called to request copies of the paperwork or any disclosures, they were unable to provide anything showing that I was informed or that the required terms were presented. Regulation Z, the Truth in Lending Act, requires clear disclosure of APR, fees, and terms to be provided before a credit card application is submitted. None were given to me, and they couldn't produce any documentation afterward. Very disappointing and not the level of transparency customers deserve. They also qouted me $2,000 above the price of the same ring another local jewler was able to custom make for me. read more

The order was for a ring. It was a little bit more than $2000.00. Although the diamonds are beautiful, it was supposed to be white gold. They didn't provide the ordered product. They just told my uncle (who has spent enough there... unbelievable)... They said they could spray something on the unwanted yellow gold, and they did. Whatever it is makes it look like "white gold", for about a week. They just told him he could go back to have it "resprayed" as needed. He has been a longtime customer. After spending, at least, fifty thousand dollars... They wouldn't replace the ring as it was ordered. Simple. White gold not yellow. Gross experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

I always get excellent service here! My husband got my engagement ring and my wedding band from here, and they've done a great job with sizing them and/or repairing it when necessary. Billy (one of the sales guys) is super accommodating and very personable! They also carry Kendra Scott now, which I'm very excited about (some of it is better priced than at the KS store.) read more

Even though I live in a suburb of Austin, I count on Occasions in Midland - 317 miles away - to do what no one in Austin can do. And here's the funny part: I never lived in Midland. As a matter of fact, I live as close to Midland right now as I ever have in my life. I learned about Michael Fleck from a friend I who is a jeweler in another state. When he learned what I needed, he suggested I contact Occasions in Midland. That's been several years ago, and I've dealt with Michael's company on many occasions (no pun intended) since then. I don't have a problem with their jewelry, it seems high quality. About a year ago I purchased a ring from them and honestly, I didn't love the design a year later - my fault totally. They told me during the time of purchase I could just come back and trade it anytime with their trade in program. "So I should feel good about the purchase" were the exact words used to sell me the ring. I returned today, a year later, to do just that and maybe upgrade a little bit. I was informed that the program only works if I upgraded to a ring double the amount of the original purchase. Whether or not this is in the fine print somewhere when purchased, I feel that the policy is deceptive the way it's described to customers. So I'm leaving a review in hopes that this clarifies that for future customers, whether they choose to shop there or not, because they certainly will use it as a sales tactic and then not really follow through. I don't normally write reviews...But given that this is not a town full of options, I felt it only necessary to spread my positive experience. I visited Occasions to have a few links from a watch removed, a watch that I did not purchase from this store. The lady that greeted me was wonderful! Quickly helped with sizing, sent it to the technician to work on and within 10 minutes it was finished. Although she didn't have to since I wasn't in the store to make a jewelry purchase, she had offered the usual complimentary drinks and to even show me any jewelry pieces that caught my eye. I wish that I would have caught her name so that I could brag about her about her online. read more

I'm so disappointed! Again!, you want to support local business but when people try to take advantage of people it's not good. I have Occasions make me a couple of necklaces. One of them broke. Well, when I got it back after they "fixed" I noticed one side of the necklace was noticeable different than the other, the sales person indicated that the necklace got stretch and she was going to see if they could match it again. Ok, when I went back to picked it up they told me they don't have the same chain, so it couldn't get fix but she wanted to show me other chain options they have, I said ok. Then, she started telling me about prices, so I asked her: you are telling me I need to buy this necklace again? She said yes if you want to match and replace the chain. I told her that was so wrong because they ruined my necklace and I was not buying the same necklace again. In other words and sorry for my French I got "SCREWED". Never going back to this place again. I'll continue spending my money somewhere else but not here in midland because when it comes to customer service it's SUCKS. read more
