They really treat you like family. Even the Executives take time to greet us and chat with us. This facility is amazing. It is so nice to be able to get so many services at one location. It really helps my daughter handle each appointment because she is familiar with the building and all the staff. We are glad to be a part of the Leg Up Farm Family. A Supposed Broken Femur Left Thigh. Then the Blind Sheep Following the Wolf Shepherd at UPMC then to Encompass. 17 days start to finish. Only to find out 3weeks later, NO such Broken Femur Existed & they were all wrong and Now I'm Bombarded w/Med Bills that are Un-Justifiable! To this day 12-28-25 I'm still Dealing with the Scam. Chasing me for money I simply don't owe due to their scam. It will be resolved. Trust me! The Shepherd failed his Duty. He Refused any Attempt at Procuring the Issue and Passed it on to the Sheep. The Shepherd for now is Long gone. Not much Longer however. At this Point the OSS Shepherd Ringleader needs to be Disciplined and Forced to Pay all bills and by Rights Compensation to me for the ongoing Misery I will carry till I die! Unbelievable! So far approx. $70thousand & counting. I won't mention Specific Names for good reason. Encompass allowed the Misinformed wrong Diagnosis to be their Guide to Treatment. PT, OT ect. Dr. he had made a Huge Mistake Not Double Checking on what was the Real Issue and was it Truthful? Unprofessional to say the Least. All Medical Personnel have a Sworn Duty to Uphold the Hippocratic and Healers Oath of which was Violated. Hippa plays a Part also. Food was terrible and obviously they don't monitor nor care if they are eating or not. Had a large bruise on her arm that none of the nurses documented so nobody seemed to know what it came from. Director of nursing never addressed my voicemail or email with photo of it. Knowing she was confused she was left unattended in a room and fell out of her wheelchair. At the time she fell I was in speaking with admin about all my complaints about the facility and this large bruise. Can you believe the unit director had the nerve to ask me if I had thought about where I would place her if she ever needed long term care? My answer, well certainly not here! It's all about keeping beds filled there for profit. They didn't even want to send her out to get checked after falling until I said I want her checked! I guess they were afraid they would lose money for the day since it was still before one o'clock and they knew I wouldn't let her come back after all this. ED said she was malnourished, electrolytes were off, dehydrated, wbc was up and she had a uti. Funny the nurse practitioner had just told me earlier in the day her bloodwork looked pretty good. They lie. My mother suffered a concussion from the fall, severe back pain and a laceration to her arm. They blame everything on being short staffed. Well if you can't have enough staff for all the patients then stop taking more people in. Oh no you can't do that because it's all about the mighty dollar. They don't care about the patients/residents. Don't fall for their talk. They are good at "lip service". Actions speak louder than words. Horrible place. Ask around. Hospitals and a lot of the people in the community know how bad it is. Thankfully I was able to get her out of the hospital and found a caretaker for my mother for when I'm at work and not there to take care of her. She is home now and doing well. Maybe the fall was a blessing in disguise. I really feel if she had to stay at Manorcare any longer she surely would have died from their lack of care and neglect. The staff is courteous and professional, but they are a bit understaffed on the weekends. The facility is clean and tidy, so that's another positive. The food on the other hand is horrific. There are no fresh fruits or vegetables at all. Every meal is laiden with nothing but carbs: mostly white bread and instant mashed potatoes. The amount of salt in the diets here is atrocious and everything comes out of a box or a can. Their idea of nutrition is a fish stick in a hot dog bun. How anyone can heal in this place is beyond me.

The one person there fell hit her head and she was bleeding they got her up on the bed but didn't take X-rays or barely checked her out. Then when they are serving food you have to wait until it's over as I was told they don't have enough of staff. The food is terrible as well. Not friendly. My mother had dementia it was hard enough to leave her there for the time she was in I took her home at the end of the month. Where she later passed away. It tears me apart but at least it happened here and not there at Pleasant acres.
