I had a service contract with Rex Hand for about 4-5 years. This year my renters wanted to know where he was and when I contacted him, he said I "hadn't set up work with him this year and his season was already full" - but that was dishonest because I never "set it up with him" yearly anyway. The agreement was for him to just to start work by May of each year - which he did every year. I don't live in the area and it's sometimes difficult to find service people. He left me stranded right when all the other lawn care people were busy - and it was especially galling because I had made contact with him about something else several weeks before and he acted like everything was fine. He never said a word about not doing our yards anymore! Other issues included billing me for at least one lawn visit that didn't happen as well as erratic billing in general. The other thing was his moods: he could be moody bordering on petulant - like he wanted to argue with you. I always wondered if he had issues with working for a woman. In conclusion, I suggest you avoid Rex Hand if you want a reliable lawn care professional you can count on.

After some very workable negotiation with the owner, and hearing from acquaintances who had done business with him on larger home projects, I hired Clean Rivers. My experience with every single employee was positive. Questions were always answered and changes made throughout the job were handled to my satisfaction. As often happens the job grew in scope and size as we moved through the process. I changed the design pavers before we got that far, and I increased the total area to be paved. I changed from a veg garden to raised beds, and I had them install a new beautiful fence. Two small decks were added. I now have a lovely private clean space that I use all the time now.
