I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ocean Blue Galleries Winter Park that I feel compelled to share to prevent others from being misled as I was. I visited the gallery last year while in Orlando and saw a beautiful lion painting (or so I thought). The lion holds deep personal significance for me as my late son's name, Ari, means "lion." Naturally, I was drawn to this piece. The salesperson, Lilli, immediately engaged me, took the artwork into a special dimly lit room, and passionately described the brushstrokes and how they come to life under different lighting. This entire presentation strongly implied that I was looking at an original painting. I didn't purchase it immediately but exchanged numerous emails with the gallery afterward. Twice in my emails, I referred to it as a painting. Not once did they correct me. Instead, they carefully avoided calling it a painting themselves, referring to it only as a "piece." After much deliberation, I purchased it and had it shipped internationally. When it arrived, I was shocked to find that the certificate described it as a limited-edition print, not an original painting. Feeling deceived, I reached out to the gallery, expecting them to take responsibility. Their response? They admitted they saw me calling it a painting in emails but didn't correct me because they "didn't want to offend me." When I requested a refund, they hid behind their 3-day no-refund policy, ignoring the fact that they misled me in the first place. When I pointed out that honesty should be a company policy, the gallery director, Nick, actually said "do truly strive to be honest and upfront with all of our clients". (As if honesty is optional, like a goal you work toward rather than a basic ethical standard.) Let's be real: If you have to "strive" to be honest, you're already admitting dishonesty is part of your business model. The Takeaway: Ocean Blue Galleries engages in misleading sales practices. They deliberately avoid clarifying details to secure sales. They will NOT take accountability once you realize the truth. If you're considering buying from them, triple-check what you're actually getting--because they certainly won't tell you upfront. read more

Beautiful artwork however, don't expect anyone to inform you about what you are browsing if you are African American. There was a distinct difference in the amount of information and attention provided to other patrons. They weren't very busy and the attendants were just standing around. All people appreciate art so you should not project your bias so blatantly. Visited from out of town and won't be returning. read more

I always admire the beautiful peacocks in the window of the Ocean Blue Gallery. They are so bright and wonderfully colorful. They never fail to make me smile. and are the perfect sneak peek into the lovely collection of artists within the store. Taking a few steps into the gallery I immediately fell in love with Nano Lopez's fun sculptures. The details and popping colors on his pieces draw you in to a happy place. I instantly became a fan of his. I also became a fan of Steve Barton. He paints quaint images of old cottages and calm seascapes. His wavy frames are unusual, fun and a conversation starter. My husband loved two of the paintings by David C. Miller. They were paintings of boats in a marina. The water was so calm that you could almost feel yourself there. Towards the back of the gallery they have a small room with several first addition paintings by Jim Carey. To be honest I didn't want to like his work because I see him more as a comedian but there is no denying that he is talented. read more

Absolutely LOVED my experience at this art gallery. They have high quality art here from artists who are still alive and are remarkable. To be honest, I bought a painting mainly because of Sydney, who works there. The way she described the painting with such passion made me love the painting. I bought my first Michael Cheval painting here. I will definitely buy another one. Sydney was kind enough to come to my home and hang my painting. Thank you so much!! Don't let Sydney go! Beautiful artwork but the employees terrified myself and my friend who came with me. We went in just to look at the art pieces (my best friend is an artist) and felt very uncomfortable because the employees followed us around the store, interrupting our conversation to talk about an art piece. At one point, a random man came out of the back closet, pulled out a painting we were looking at and ushered us into a dark room to "look at it better". Once we were in there he closed the door, turned down the lights until it was pitch dark multiple times and asked us which lighting we would prefer. Then his employee brought out a notebook and the price (which was over $4000) to discuss deposits and such. We mentioned multiple times we weren't looking to buy but they still didn't let us leave the dark room. Eventually my friend stood up and demanded we leave and opened the door her self to let us out. Even when he was explaining the piece to us, the explanation was weird. He mentioned young girls coming of age and getting into "mischief". That is literally the only description he gave us. The whole visit was weird and no one wants to be forced into a pitch dark room, especially not two young women. read more

Lovely gallery. Could've spent all afternoon here. Mason introduced himself to us and explained some of the art and the artist to us. He was so knowledgeable and so friendly it made us like the gallery even more. This is a gem of a place and everyone should take a look inside. read more

We took the Sunride Train to Winter Park. We did not know what to expect. There are many really different shops and restaurants. Ocean Blue Galleries was one of the best in the area. The art is breathtaking. Some we couldn't afford but wonderful to see and appreciate. I found a gift for our daughter in law that I feel will be a great addition to her curio cabinet. read more

Buyer beware....My husband and I purchased an original piece of artwork by James Coleman from Ocean Blue Gallery on August 13, 2021. We were told by the gallery manager, Ashleigh, to expect the certificate of authenticity (COA) to be sent separate from the artwork within a couple of weeks of one another as a protective measure. The COA was also noted on our purchase agreement. We received the artwork on Sept. 2, 2021 but never received the COA. This is usual and customary documentation for original artwork. I followed up with the gallery manager several times and when she responded it was always "So sorry and I'll look into it with the studio" and then no follow up. This went on for over a month and hasn't been resolved. We spent a lot of money on this artwork and to be treated this way by the gallery manager is no way to conduct business. I caution anyone interested in purchasing from this gallery to request to see the COA in advance of payment. To be sure I have not been misled about the authenticity of the artwork, I will be taking it to be appraised. This has been a very frustrating experience and I would never purchase from this gallery again or recommend them to anyone else. They received our money and never fulfilled their obligation to us as buyers. On top of it, they did so in a very dismissive manner. read more

Walked in while out for our Anniversary dinner. Graham was so friendly and knowledgeable. We talked about the different art, artists, what we found appealing, what made us happy, laugh, or just would be interested in. We found a piece by Harlan called "Heard About a Place". Graham put it in the viewing room and we were in love. He gave us all the information, artist website etc. My husband dealt with Graham and Justin and surprised me with this amazing artwork. When we went to pick it up we found other amazing pieces - we are true Harlan fans. There is something to the saying "the art pics you". The customer service is amazing and not pressuring at all.
