They arrived when they told me they would they got everything out in record time even helped fix a couple things at the house we were moving out of. While the…read moremoving crew themselves were kind, hardworking, and respectful (we even tipped them), the way the company's management has handled the aftermath has been extremely disappointing. Several of my belongings were damaged during the move, including all three mattresses (torn), a broken nightstand with glass inlays, scratched bed frames, ripped up threshold on my front door and a brand-new front storm door that they tried to claim was only rubber trim when it is clearly metal. My home is brand new! One mover also left black glove smudges across my walls that cannot be cleaned and now require painting. When I brought these issues to the owner's attention, I was told flatly, "No Ma'am your claim is closed," without any acknowledgment, investigation, or willingness to even look at the damage. The refusal to take responsibility or even have a conversation about the matter shows a serious lack of professionalism and accountability at the management level. To be clear -- the movers crew themselves were wonderful people. Unfortunately, the company's leadership has made it impossible for me to recommend them. Moving is stressful enough; the last thing you should have to deal with is extensive damage and a company unwilling to stand behind its service.

I had two very…read moreserious issues during my move: first, an envelope was taken from a shelf when I was moved out; then, when I moved into my new place, an entire small safe was missing. While I understand it can be difficult to find reliable help, if a company chooses to hire individuals with criminal backgrounds, they have a responsibility to supervise them properly. That supervision was clearly lacking in my case. I feel extremely disappointed and violated, and I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

I work in a position that requires every aspect of my job to be in place before the actual encounter date. I expected this company to be professionals and have everything in line before the moving date. In hindsight I see why the two moving companies I called before Garden State said they would send someone over a guy to do an estimate. The movers came and said nothing to me about not being packed correctly. I left for a moment and the foreman called Nicole and said I did not pack right. I'm no professional but I thought I did a great job. Nicole decided since I had three guys, (mind you the new guy was sick most of the move) and I did not pack right that she was raising the rate from $145 an hr. to $190 an hr. and taking away the 10% discount agreed upon in the contract. My bed is not properly put together, and I can't find screws for tv stands and other things, it's just a mess. I rely heavily on honest reviews, and I am happy that others seemed to have a good experience. Not me. BEWARE!!!

Home Depot dropped it in my doorway and refused to bring it any further. I called Garden State movers on a Saturday to which a very friendly lady took all my info, explained everything I needed to know, gave me a price, and gave me the time that they were arriving within a hour. A half hour before they came I received a phone call telling me exactly when they would arrive. When the 2 gentlemen arrived they introduced they're selves with a hand shake, and they then scoped out the job first. I questioned them that there was only 2 of them, how would they be be able to lift the vanity even though they Both were pretty buff. They had the vanity and the top in the bathroom in matter of 10 minutes. They were both very careful watching that they didn't drop or bang the vanity. During the whole move, I was impressed that they verbally talked the move to each other while making the move. I would use Garden state again, and I would highly recommend 3

They left four boxes worth of stuff in drawers and cabinets had to pick them up and take them with me the next day things didn't get any better. My husband called corporate and complained, but do any good when they give me the final price for the moving experience. He was so rude so obnoxious and asked me if I had a problem and I explained my problem to him and he left. They broke knobs. They hit walls. They were so disgusting and so inconsiderate don't ever use them. I give them a zero if I could give them a negative one to five I would give them a negative one to a -5.
