Decided to stop at Ocean Gardens during our family vacation in the Keys. We were greeted upon entry. I have to say even though Google has great pictures of the place, they still do not do it justice and it would be a mistake not to stop here when souvenir hunting. They have so many nice things at reasonable prices. We bought a beach scene picture and glass octopus/jelly fish with lighted base. Staff were excellent and they offer a military discount. The only thing that stopping me from buying a lot more, including a fiberglass Mako Shark, was a lack of room in the truck and they couldn't mail our cats home. Oh yeah and the fact that I found it much cheaper at a place closer to home. Either way, don't make the mistake of passing them by; you will regret it! read more

This place is absolutely gorgeous! It's huge house that has so many things for sale here for your house decoration. The prices are high, but this product is high-quality. They have everything from cupholders to tables, tools, luxury silverware. The colors here are white, blue, some brown, some gold, and I absolutely love it. The thought process of go big or go home applies to this shop. Everything was grand, big, impressive. From pulling into the parking lot the store is huge, but once you are through the door, being impressed isn't enough of a description. I have a hard time in stores like this- too many things to look at, so many interesting merchandise. Not to mention looking up and down and all around- because there is art and home decor and more everywhere you look. My sister and I both got hooked on looking at shiplights- rewired to work as a light on your house. Being that I am house hunting and my other half loves history and all things nautical- the gentleman who informed me the light I had in my hand was recovered from a battleship, I could just see my other half geeking out. Then add all the artistic home decor items. I sincerely wanted to spend hundreds of dollars in this store! If I was already in my new house- I would have. I do plan to return for another visit to the keys with John and this store will be a stop for sure! Love this store! Stopped in on the way home from a day trip with some friends and I'm happy we did! We all walked away with something we loved here. It's kind of like a high end gift shop with mostly new items and some antiques. I got some adorable, hand carved, wooden fan pulls and some yard decor. So glad to see this "brand new" business open. Not so much because of what they offer or how nice it is (and it is nice), but more of a sign of times. This economy has been a nail biter for so long and with plenty of people out of work, it a real lift to see a few new businesses opened in the past few months (in the keys anyway). Now that I finished my political and financial observation, lets talk about Ocean Gardens (nautical gifts, marine antiques, shells & coral and treasure coins). Ocean Gardens caught my attention because of a couple of the biggest staghorn ferns I have ever seen hanging. So large that they were secured with chain (as opposed to the typical use of rope). The outside area has a huge tropical fountain with garden and koi pond, in addition to all the strategically placed nautical and marine items for sale (canons, glass buoys, monster sized scallop shells, wood pulleys, rusty anchors, planters, crab traps and more). The inside store is loaded with more nautical and marine items (shells galore, jewelry, touristy stuff like shell night-lights and refrigerator magnets, a lot of antique looking brass/copper fixtures, more buoys, shark jaws/teeth, metal wall art). Interesting that the cash register and counter help is located in an indoor tiki hut (nice decorative touch). The dilemma for me here are two fold: (1) crazy high prices. I'm not oblivious that the keys are expensive but this seems excessive. Hopefully they negotiate, otherwise I can't imagine they will be around too long. (2) The goods here are nice but don't seem to be authentic or antiques. The inventory consisting of brass lights, porthole windows, diver helmets, lanterns, navigation tools, et cetera all seem to be replicas (look more manufactured for decorative use and not actual marine use). Bottom line: it's a lovely but very expensive store (worth jumping in and browsing) read more

My new favorite store!! Everything was absolutely beautiful inside, I could have spent all day there! Make sure to snap a picture in front of the lobster trap tree! Left buying ornaments & 2 lobster buoys - really wish I would have bought a few more! Can not recommend enough - a must stop when visiting Isla Morada & the keys!! read more

If you are looking for island trinkets / household items this is one of the best places to get your things! They have something for everything but make sure that you don't spend more than you need as they do not offer refunds only store credit on items returned. We live here so it was not a huge problem, we can slays find something to purchase for a gift or for our home, but it was a surprise the first time we found out about that rule. I found this place to be ok. I visited here a couple times during vacation. I did find the prices a little higher than I would prefer, but the staff people were always nice and the stock was not the kind that you could find everywhere. The only issue I experienced was caused by an out-of-line person who appeared to be a Yelper. Each clerk I saw was pleasant, the only problem -- the customer who was there one time that I was visiting was very rude to the store's employee and left muttering using descriptions that sounded like 'scrawny lady' or 'skanky blonde' and about writing a review on Yelp which is how I knew about the supposed connection with Yelp. It is good to see that a store with such unique merchandise so appropriate to its location, even if higher priced than I expected, was still thriving the last time I visited. read more

Be careful what you buy here. I purchased two light fixtures. When I had my electrician install them they were both defective. Even though they both looked the same externally the insides were different but equally defective. My electrician had to spend an additional two hours rewiring and reassembling the fixtures. The work cost almost as much as the fixtures. I paid an excessive amount for junk. read more

My decorating style used to be very much traditional beach-themed (witty signs, anchor-everything, shabby chic, cozy cottage style) but has changed since (so I'm not on the buying streak much anymore here), but they sell quality gifts and the store is huge. Lots of beautiful shells, dish ware, antique boating hardware, table decor, candles, hammocks, wall art, home goods, etc. Probably best suited for ages 40-50 and up (my mom would LOVE this place) and worth a stop. read more

Architecturally pleasing with high 30 foot ceilings, lots of natural light and about 10,000 sq feet of sea shells, antique and new nautical items, jewelry including high quality Atocha shipwreck coins, authentic cannons and much, much more. I have taken family members with me and we have always been greeted with warmth, smiles and generosity. If you are looking for a bargain outlet, this is not the place. Ocean Gardens is a treasure compared to the other stores posing as having good merchandise. I didn't see allot of " made in china" junk plastic stuff. No blow up flamingos that end up in goodwill the minute you get them home. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. They came over and asked if I needed help and then left me alone to wander, but checked on me from time to time. If you're expecting cheap trinket junk, go elsewhere. Just created a yelp account solely to write this review. This store is incredible. I've never seen a store that my father was happy to be shopping in until we entered ocean gardens. Loved everything here! My mother bought a nautilus shell shaped ice bucket for chilling white wine. My father bought a 3ft long palm leaf shaped serving platter. I bought a set of candle holders that are stunning on my mantle! There's something for everyone here, I just wish they had a larger selection on their website as there were some awesome light fixtures I saw while visiting that I'd love to get my hands on (I live in NYC). The sales woman who helped us was incredibly sweet and helpful with shipping our purchases home for us! read more

This store is AMAZING! I brought some friends down from Rhode Island & we had THE BEST time at Ocean Gardens! They have such unique merchandise... I wanted everything in the sore! SInce we flew, we had to have our items shipped. Everything arrived on time & in perfect condition (even the coral pieces). The staff was extremely helpful & even made dinner reservations for us!! Once I got home, I realized there were a few more things I wanted. I called the store, explained the items I wanted & they shipped them to me right away! We will definitely be back!
