It's an Asian mart. You want mochi, a whole aisle of rice noodles, fish heads (to make your white husband squirm), boba, loose leaf tea, funky smells, giant bags of rice, packages you can't read (apparently reading Chinese is not genetic...), random produce at reasonable prices, etc.? Come here. I can't speak to whether prices are good or bad, seem average compared to other Asian marts. I'll bring my mother sometime and let her critique. I was "caught" taking pictures of some items (I don't know anything about rice wine and wanted to search for it later) and a worker said "no pictures." Oh...k. this store has most of what you'll need on your grocery list, but their check out lanes tend to be slow. however you never really wait too long. there is usually staff around if you need help finding something, but every time i ask for something, no one can actually direct me to where i need to go. they'll give me an aisle number, it won't be there, and instead of taking me to it they just give me more aisle numbers to try. i usually just walk up and down each aisle and will eventually find what i need. generally they have a great selection of products and even have a small food court that you can order food from. read more

The hands down best thing about Ocean Mart in my mind is the fresh herbs in the produce section. If you were to go to Smiths or the store formerly known as Albertsons, you would get one sprig of Mint, Rosemary, Basil, etc., in a small package and charged $2.00 for it. At Ocean Mart, you get for the same $2, a nice size bunch of the same herbs. Apparently, the owners of Ocean Mart are not as worried about portion sizes and profit margins as other grocery chain stores. You can get your other produce much cheaper here to. If you are a retail client instead of business customer, you may not get the same respect from the store cashiers. This is based on my own experience. When I was checking out today, I was behind a business client who placed a large order. I waited patiently when he got all his stuff out of the conveyer belt. However, after I put my stuff on the conveyer belt and pushed my cart behind the cashier for my turn, the business client's girlfriend showed up with a full cart. Without consulting with me, the cashier pushed all my stuff away and started to scan her stuff. I was totally shocked. It is really unprofessional and respectful. I waited another 5 minutes for an explanation but the cashier was quite busy chatting in Cantonese with that client. I ended up walking out of the store without buying anything. (I called the store manager later and was told they are "business" customers who have priorities. BTW, I was not in the business client lane) This horrible customer experience changed my view completely on this store since you WONT get the same respect if you are not a BUSINESS client. read more

This is a very big Chinese market! I found all the things that I can't find at other Asian stores. The BBQ was very bad, but they're their own business, not blaming the market. They have many hot Chinese girls working here, check them out when you have a chance! read more

You can get awesome things here for shopping. Their food is great! Duck, pork, and their noodle soups(to die for). Beef stew noodle soup is amazing. Any time I'm in the area and hungry, this is the spot. read more

This place has a fairly large selection of Asian fare. It also has nice wide aisles and is well lit. There is a small cafe just in case you get hungry while you are shopping. The menu was a little confusing for the novice and I noticed people ordering things that were not on the menu. Maybe a few more times here and I will be in the "know". My kiddos enjoyed watching the live crabs in the back of the store. We will be back. read more

I go to the Ocean Mart in Roy, UT. The reason I go to Ocean Mart is because of the variety of vegetables and fruits they carry. I appreciate they keep up with many different Asian fruits and vegetables. But sometimes they still try to sell very wilted vegetables and fruits. You will never see those poor quality produces in regular super market. Some of the produce they have should go right in trash bag instead of display shelves. Hope they read this and improve the quality of fresh produce on display. read more

This is the best place to buy Asian food in the Salt Lake - Provo area. Their choices of asian pastes are what attracted me to this store. This store is HUGE (full grocery store sized) with a large selection of produce and plenty of room to maneuver around the aisles. Teas, cooking ingredients, an entire aisle of sauces and liquids, tons of frozen and dried seafood specialties and desserts, tons of noodles and rice products, a huge aisle of guilty pleasure ramen-noodle type concoctions, aisles of cooking supplies, dishware, kettles, kitschy crap, etc. That's what I love about it. This is the largest store of its kind in Utah that I know of. I live in Logan where the largest asian market is about 400 square feet. We make a special trip to Great China Market a few times a year to stock up on Chinese goods we have a hard time finding elsewhere. The prices are decent too. I love this place. read more
