This is one of the largest resorts on the coastline and has amazing views of the ocean if you are…read morein the tops floors. The lobby is on the fourth floor, breakfast buffet on the second, pool access on the first. It has several different restaurants inside the hotel; a sports bar, pizza place, waterfront lounge, bar, fancy dinner spot, all at hotel prices (not the cheapest).
They also have a huge swimming pool with slides, swim up bar, kiddie play area, sectioned off hot tubs (same temperature water), water volleyball/ soccer area and a separate disconnected lap pool and indoor hydrotherapy pool. The hydrotherapy pool has fountains with streaming water that's meant to massage your back, it's warm and has underwater jets. It would be very nice and relaxing if they didn't let kids play in there. (Sign says no jumping, kids should not be unaccompanied, etc but no one enforces it). Behind it is the real spa which offers different paid services and a gym for the motivated (who wants to work out during vacation?). They provide free pool towels at the cabana near the front of the pool, show your wristband and room number and confirm your name.
The room we had was right next to the blaring pool music, so every night it seemed like there was a loud party you could hear through the bathroom window and died off around 10pm. Our room (for two people) had three beds, two doubles and a single, maybe just because of room allocation. We had a fully stocked fridge and snacks (for a price), a safe, closet with hangers, plenty of room to set your things out. Though, the rooms didn't get cleaned very consistently (the floor wasn't very clean, different number of towels each day, soap was thrown out and not replaced, sometimes we got more amenities other times none). The bathroom was weirdly shaped (maybe because it was a corner room) with the shower and toilet sharing a glass door that slid to close one or the other. Our door rolled toward the toilet and was difficult to keep it shut while showering. The shower was much narrower than the toilet separation which isn't great if your not a petite person. The double sinks however were helpful and the little shelf that ran along both sinks, to set your thing on was great. The towels were all hung on a towel bar under the sink which meant the bath towels almost touched the ground. There was only one hook to hang any thing else.
The room operated with the card in place, which was a great way to save on electricity and the air conditioning even shut off when the window or doors were left open. Very eco friendly!
The included breakfast buffet had an array of fresh fruits, yogurts, self service coffee/tea machine, pastries (cakes, bread, pão de queijo), sausage, bacon, and waffles. If you're willing to stand in line and wait, you can order a tapioca cooked as you like.
Overall big resort hotel. Good for large number is people. If you're looking for something with good crowds and lots of options this is for you.
Interesting side note: they fly the Catalan flag, carry Desigual store inside the hotel and have a Catalan phrase in marble in the lobby, and Internet webpage has 4 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Catalan.
