Drywall cutting in the kitchen not straight. 2. Skylight supports are low quality lumber. Inspector said they should have been finished with higher quality wood. 3. A-1 did not inform my parents they needed to hire a finishing carpenter to complete the work. 4. The project manager Jake told them he would attach the television antenna to the fascia, he left it on the ground. 5. the workers knocked over planters with their vehicles and crushed them. It is obvious A-1 took advantage of my parents believing they could bully them and do horrific work. Stay away from this company at all costs. They lowball bid and do work far below standards.

We talked to different local roofing companies to resolve this and most of them seemed to just offer a simple patch without really knowing what was causing the leak. Dr. Roof was honest up front about the extent of the damage so we went with a full reroof on the front side of our house. You never know what is underneath until you rip it off. The damage was much more extensive then the other companies were claiming and if we did not go with Dr. Roof's suggestion, we would have still had an issue but just threw $1000's down the drain. So, their assessment was spot on with the issue. Now, the work. Their team was so professional and great to work with. I highly recommend them! They showed up on time, did the work and cleaned up afterwards. They also provided a lot of great photos of the damage to aid us with our insurance claim. We had some issues at the end of the project and they came out and resolved everything to exceed my expectations. Then there's no follow up. So you go by in person and no one calls you back. The first inept guy calls you back. Then after almost a year, a new sales guy is hired and he tries to make amends by giving you a new estimate. Nope. The first impression is always the one that last forever. Talk to others, neighbors and chat with people at the post office- there's a lot of unhappy customers around who will tell you "Dr. Roof is really expensive". Me, I will not hire them. First impressions and customer's stories are plenty for me.

He went up into the attic, came back down and said "it doesn't look too bad up there." I'm glad I decided to get more vendors to take a look at the issues, because it turns out all my ventilation design needs to be changed, I have wood rot, and several leaks where the mold is growing. Most places that came in around their price used the cheapest shingles with a shorter warranty period. That coupled with the conversation I had with Bryan sold me. He was knowledgable and seemed to really care about what he does. The roof looks fantastic. They used high quality materials and what I asked for is what I got. Can't say anything better than that. They were on time every morning (much to the teenager's vexation) and cleaned up every day. My driveway was actually cleaner than when they began. They completed the job on time and dead on the budget. I repeat, ON BUDGET. The quote was what they charged me. And to me, that means a lot. Please keep in mind that this is a family business. If they don't call you back straight away they will get back to you as soon as they can. To the review that commented about another roofing company saying they had a bad reputation... They're the competition, probably not an unbiased opinion. Also... We have a structure covering our front porch that always looked like an afterthought. Like it didn't really belong. It was glass and it was always dirty. It was very close to the roof and was clogged with moss and leaves. Come March 2025 we had a leak. It took quite a while to get them out for a fix. Come holiday time 2025 the leak which had been fixed was back, so we called. We had to hire another roofing company to fix the leak. They fixed it in three days. We still have to fix the water damage. Then we got a text in January 2026 asking if we still needed to have someone fix our leak....seriously?!

Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.

While they are based out of South Bend, they were able to complete the job in Ocean Park in two and half days.
