Terrible experience, I enrolled my daughter for summer camp, for her to adapt to the environment of…read morethis place before starting the school year there, the FIRST day AT 1:00 PM (during kids nap time) the director PATRICIA CONTRERAS (who apparently believes that she has a doctorate in PEDIATRIC NEUROPSYCOLOGY) call me to tell me that my daughter was a child with PROBLEMS and that they could not assign a teacher to take care of my daughter all day, since they counted 16 children per classroom and 2 teachers. My daughter comes from a daycare where she was more than a year, without any inconvenience, and NOT special treatment was required because she is NORMAL and I simply decided to change her to another place so that she had another experience, that was the worst decision we ever made. This lady is NOT qualified to handle/ownership a preschool, she does not have LOVE for the kids or VOCATION. To start my daughter has no severe diagnosis, no cognitive delay, is simply receiving therapies because she had to be operated on the ears and obviously does not speak yet, but is a normal girl, with normal behavior and development and according to their age. It was a very bad decision on my part to have enrolled her in that daycare and not pay attention to the previous reviews. When I went to pick up my daughter immediately after being rejected (it was not even 3 hours in charge of the teachers) the girl did not want to fall asleep and apparently that was what upset them, obviously the girl has the routine of taking bottle and pacifier before sleeping, when i received her bag the bottle was intact and the pacifier was never given to her, that's why my daughter bothered them, because it was the first day, she was just beginning to adapt and they did not follow the guidelines that my husband and i told both teachers that same day in the morning. This institution is not a REGGIO EMILIA, do not waste your money there, it is simply a place where they take care of children, but they are not interested at all for their emotional development or learning. Obviously, my daughter returned to her usual daycare from where she should never leave, be careful with these people. We enrolled our daughter who had just turned 2 in this small Montessori preschool because of its…read morewarm, homey feel and nurturing environment, which initially felt like the perfect fit for her first school experience. The teachers were always kind and welcoming, and our daughter genuinely loved going every day -- it was clear from how happy she was at drop-off each morning. However, our overall experience revealed some important limitations that other families, especially those with neurodivergent children or kids in general who may require additional behavioral support, should be aware of. Although the school was made aware of our daughter's diagnosis before she started, it became apparent that they were not equipped to provide the kind of support neurodivergent children may need (an individualized learning approach). What was particularly disheartening was the disconnect in communication -- day-to-day feedback from the teachers was always minimal or overly generalized ("todo bien!"), yet on the few occasions when we had more formal check-ins with the head of school or director, the feedback was overwhelmingly negative. Typical behaviors for a 2-year-old -- like putting things in her mouth, having a hard time sitting still for too long, or expressing frustration by screaming -- were treated as serious concerns, rather than opportunities to support and guide her development. Families should also know that while the school may accept neurodivergent children, it will likely be a matter of time before you're told that the school isn't the "right fit". If your child doesn't fit a certain mold, they may eventually be asked to leave. In our case, it was in less than a month's notice by the director of the school. It was very odd as we were only a month away from the end of the school year. Additionally, unlike many other preschools, this school does not allow therapy services such as speech or occupational therapy to take place onsite, which can be a significant challenge for families needing those services integrated into the school day, especially at this young age where early intervention is crucial. We are giving the school 2 stars because of the genuine kindness shown by staff and because our daughter did truly enjoy being there for a time. It's unfortunate that the school ultimately wasn't the right fit for her or more so that she wasn't the right fit for the school. We sincerely hope they consider investing in better training and resources to support neurodivergent children and become more inclusive and supportive of all developmental paths.

I loved how they involved parents in special school activities and sent pictures of the lessons they did in the classroom. I had both of my children under their care and feel very lucky to have found them. They were taught practical, academic, and social skills in a loving and caring environment. The school was also always immaculately clean and organized. Darlene the director was very involved and attentive. Mayra, Daniela, Leidy, and Yari were all so amazing with our children. Their commitment to providing a supportive and enriching educational experience was like no other. I also felt incredible peace of mind when I would drop them off every morning. I HIGHLY recommend Sacred Heart Montessori and feel very blessed that this was my children's first educational experience.

As a first time mom and mother taking their child to school for the first time it can be insanely…read morescary and anxiety provoking. Pride and joy came recommended by my neighbor whose kids went there until they aged out and had nothing but amazing things to say. Soon I came to find several people from my neighborhood went there. So we decided to tour it and meet the team. I felt comfortable immediately after meeting Miss Carrie and my daughters to be teacher miss Mickey. They are two of the warmest, most welcoming and loving people. The ideal people to work in this industry. My daughter was a little over one when she started in early 2023. She absolutely LOVED going to school. Would run inside and not look back at me once. What I loved most is how small the school is. All the teachers even for the other grades know all the children and they frequently help out each others classes. The class sizes are also super small which allows for a lot of direct attention which was something my high maintenance child needed. They quickly learn all the children by name and know exactly who everyone's parents are. It's a very close knit program and I loved that. I also loved that they cleaned their own facility and didn't hire outside companies so they are able to oversee that everything is held to a certain standard. This past year my daughter was only sick twice and as a 1-2 year old class I'd say that's REALLY good and I credit it to how well they upkeep their rooms. Communication with team and her teachers is very open and I am always able to get ahold of someone if I ever have a question or concern. It's tremendous to see how much my daughter learned being there. Often times she would randomly say or do something at home we had no idea she could do and we just assumed she learned at school, like the first time she pointed at a picture of an apple and said Apple. They have a great educational curriculum and they don't just sit your child in front of a TV. All in all I would absolutely recommend pride and joy. We loved everything about it there and are so sad to have to leave (we're moving out of state due to my husbands job). In fact it's one of the hardest parts about leaving because as a mom of now 2, finding a school you are whole heartedly comfortable with is a rare find. I can only hope we find somewhere even half as great as pride and joy. I will forever compare every school experience back to the expectations I learned here. Thank you Miss Mickey, Miss Edilima, the new assistants and Miss Carrie (as well as the teachers in the other classes) who have always treated my girl like your own. The quality of teachers, assistants and administration at this school are fantastic. This school is family owned and managed but a fantastic family of educators that are passionate about educating young children. They continue to think about what the children and our family need and bring great ideas and solutions to continue to strive for greatness for our children. For example, this year they invited both a occupational and physical therapists to help assess our kids (optional) and work closely with our teachers so they can help our kids and manage any development items as a team. They continue to add music, physical education and even Spanish classes provided by other educators. The curriculum is great and is focused on themes, after each theme (month-2 months), there is a celebration and families are invited to participate. This shows our children to have a sense of great pride in their work. My son attended a Montessori school prior to VCA and I did like that VCA had some Montessori like set up that helps children build their independence. Also, my son attended VPK and VCA follows the Florida VPK curriculum. His teacher did meet with me 3 times in that year to share his testing results and thoroughly discuss their development, this helped to show the growth he had from the beginning, middle and end of the year and showed his readiness for Kindergarten! I'm confident that VCA helped him prepare for his Kindergarten year. VCA also learns through play. My children have always loved to attend school. All educators, even outside of my children's assigned class, know my children by name and are very professional. The communication is fantastic, you can always reach someone in the office. The app the teacher uses keeps us engaged on what the children are learning as well as another form of communication directly into the classroom teachers/assistants. You are always greeted everyday with a welcoming smile. We'll miss our VCA family as our second child wraps up her last year at VCA. We were new to Miami and VCA became an extension of our family, most importantly they made it so easy for us to go to work. Academically, both boys were extremely prepared for kindergarten and had a smooth transition. During their last year at Vanguard they prepared them to be more independent for kinder. The school is always impeccable and they have taken all measures to keep the children safe during COVID. We have made long life friends at VCA and have missed them very much! We love Ms. Kiko and all the staff who were part of our parenting journey during our time there. I cannot recommend this school enough!
