Dollar General is dark, and closer to a miniature Target or Walmart. It's a proper store with rugs, room spray, mayonnaise, frozen food, bread, you name and it's here. They do have some seasonal, and even some small clearance tables. The ambiance is very dark and the aisles are tight. It's a weird fit for the town of Morris. It definitely puts on my conspiracy theory hat; how on earth did this get approved in a town that otherwise seems to embrace supporting local? What makes anyone think shoppers will be so pervasive they need additional parking in the back? The employees were friendly, perhaps a bit understaffed since both were stocking and trying to watch the register. But I think I'd rather go to Target for selection and lighting.

The store was squeaky clean, free of clutter in the aisles, the shelves were stocked with easy to read pricing, and the staff was super polite, friendly and very helpful. As you walk through the store, you'll find markdown sections, where the pricing gets even better. For example. We picked up two packets of sunflower butter for a quarter each. We also got a super nice 4 Quart covered pan for $20, nicely priced Zip Lock bags, aluminum foil, shampoo, Lever soap bars, laundry detergent, some soup, and beef jerky rounded out our eclectically random order. To make things even better, if you previously shop at Big Lots (like we have), you'll occasionally get a $10 off of $20 coupon and random offers for free stuff, like yesterday's two-pack of Kleenex tissues. So, with our discounts, we paid just $37 before tax for all of that random stuff, including the $20 frying pan. Good pricing, a pleasant staff, and a neatly stocked store combined to provide us with a very enjoyable shopping experience.

They have fresh food, cheese, ham, everything you expect to find in a market. Like it implies in it's name. It is a smaller market then a Stop and Shop, but could get you through a quiet week. It's pretty well stocked and very clean. The People who do work here are friendly and always willing to help. The only issue is not enough counter space to put your items up to be scanned, them bagging and then trying to hand you the items while you're trying to get the rest up. There is usually a line trying to check out again because the company doesn't want to hire enough people.
