Long hours, good selection and great prices. If you like to avoid crowded places like Wal*Mart, but still want low prices, Job Lot is the place to go. The selection may not be as big as some of the larger retailers, but you can still find plenty of items. The assortment ranges from lawn & garden to home goods, toiletries, food, stationery and much more. As the reviewer before me said, the traffic at this particular location is usually pretty low. With that said, there's usually just one cashier on duty, but they staff is very friendly and they are usually attentive enough to open another register when it's necessary. Pretty nice place to get little bit of everything. Job Lot has the best prices in town. Garden tools and stuff are lot cheaper then Home Depot. The product may be out dated time to time, but they are good and cheap. The traffic seems to be low at this place, so, it's pretty fast in and out. read more

I liked this place before Willem the manager left. Now they have this new guy, Robert/Rob. He is rude and doesn't know how to speak to people. They don't say anything to people that walk in the store without masks, but they'll say something to someone with a small dog. Being a long time customer and former employee, I'd see how many people would walk in with full grown dogs and never being turned away at the door, I was dumbfounded at how quickly I was turned away with my small, quiet full grown 8lb dog. He didn't even bother to ask if he was a service dog. Before I even finished what I was saying, he walked away from me. All I wanted was to grab a few items and be on my way, I couldn't even do that. He immediately infuriated me. There is a way to talk to people and this manager Rob did it all wrong. He was dismissive as well. If you're going to manage a store, learn how to properly communicate and take some sensitivity courses. SIDE NOTE: Two older gentlemen were in the store with a big dog less than a week ago and they didn't bat an eye. There is a sign in the door that says no animals, yet that has been disregarded for years. Why the change all of a sudden? You don't know what people go through daily especially during this pandemic. It's important to be kind and not a jerk-off on a high horse. That store is going straight to hell. read more

Not being from this state, I had no idea what a "job lot" was. I kept driving by and thinking it was a place for people to go drop off their resumes and find employment (?! It does mention "jobs" doesn't it?!). Imagine my surprise when I went inside and discovered the world of adventure shopping. I was completely fascinated. There wasn't much I needed to buy, but that didn't stop me from spending an hour there combing through the racks and looking for various knick knacks. The prices were generally very good, although you can't automatically assume that their prices are necessarily the lowest. The feeling I get from the place is that someone found a shipping container that fell off the back of a Chinese cargo ship and then decided to sell everything off inside. It's like if Walmart and Dollarama had a love child. It's not a place where you go to be classy, but that just broadens the appeal. I ended up finding some pretty cool stuff for my kitchen and some stationary for studying. I would definitely like to keep going there from time to time to see what new things I can discover. I've been coming here for years. It's pretty much a liquidator, but it looks like they have a deal with several companies to keep them supplied with certain products. Prices are good. I buy a lot of gardening supplies here. They always seem to have the same brands and products, so it's good if you are used to a specific item; you can almost always find it. Ditto for some food products - not always things you'd find at the grocery store, but some basic items from offshore manufacturers, or wholesalers. Some of the Polish and German jarred marinated salads are about half the price of the grocery. This is a great place for some hardware items (duct tape, for example) and kitchenware, and towels and rugs. Other things are hit or miss. Clothing can either be three racks of extra-small and 4X-large, or in colors not known in the natural world. Toys are often knockoffs of popular games (I bought my grandson a 'Robert Cop' action figure there) or shopworn plush animals. A great place for jigsaw puzzles, though! They have super bargains - their internet coupons are sometimes worth a trip there to use them alone. They also have "Crazy Deals" - buy a specific product, get almost the same amount back in a gift card. Be careful - these are usually higher end products like air compressors or pontoon boats. Good prices, though. This is pretty much a regular stop for me. I never know what I can find and realize I can't live without before I get there and browse. read more

I love this store. Always find hidden gems when coming in here. Parking lot is huge, staff is friendly, and prices are more than reasonable. I have found food, an electric blanket, tools, decorative rugs, and many knick knacks that were worth a look. It is a great little store if you live in the area. Love & Hate . Good deals for the sharp, conscientious buyer only. A lot of food items are on the brink of expiration or defective quality... and many are good, but keep your receipt so you can get your money back. nNuts, seeds, oils, chips are all hit or miss. Lovely LLBean button up for a deal, Three pairs of shorts all labeled 32 and three different sizes. Its a close-out/ over-run discount store. Thirty two years and I still shop here.....remember the moths flyiing from the boxed cereals years ago. My shelves are stocked but surprises and waste from bad food are common. read more

Prices are ok. Don't shop there too often but I just bought a rug there price was ok. Quality of rug was very good. I wanted to get 2 of the same rug same color. Upset they only had 1 and no other ocean state job lot close enough to travel to get one. I saved the tag from the rug incase I ever come by another location so I can buy the same one to match hopefully! Employees and service was good. read more

I have been shopping at the Naugatuck Ct store since it opened. Yesterday I had the misfortune of returning an item for the first time. I thought I had the receipt in the bag, but my mistake, I did not. The girl scanned in the items which I paid $12.00 each and they came up $9.60. My loss for not having the receipt. The the kicker is after taking that loss I was informed that they do not refund sales tax!!! I had never heard of that before. I am glad I have more shopping options because I will not be returning there. read more
