The owner himself, Daniel, came down all the way from SF for a in person consultation then emailed me a meticulous thought-out plan on step by step of removing the giant tank. The Game Day - Daniel came with 3 team members + 1 cargo van + 1 U-Haul (this thing was huge..) This review is long overdue, but it's time that I acknowledge all the great work that Daniel put into designing a lifelong dream tank for me in my home! While I have had freshwater tanks and my family members have had saltwater tanks before, this was my 1st venture in having a saltwater tank of my own. Because I turned 50 during COVID, my wife (bless her) gifted me with her approval for adding a saltwater tank into our house. Not really knowing much about how a project like this even gets started, I did a quick search of "saltwater tanks" in Yelp and then sent general inquiries to about 5 of the companies that came up from the search. When I sent these inquiries on June 21, 2020, Daniel responded within the same day and after providing my cell phone, he literally called me up and spent over 90 minutes talking to me about my project. I can't stress how patient he was with me because I had some inkling about what I thought I wanted in this saltwater tank, but I had a million questions to ask. He listened throughout our conversation and provided insight rather than try to sell me on the type of tank that he thought I should have. He asked me a bunch of questions to see how comfortable I was with doing maintenance and then honed in on the type of system that would suit my comfort level as well as the particular species of fish that I was most interested in. After this conversation, he asked me to send him pics of where I planned to place the tank, but also with dimensions so that he could put together a detailed cost proposal. While this was happening, I also fielded calls/emails from only 2 other companies. It was very clear that Daniel was head and shoulders above the others, but then I waited to get written quotes from all 3 before making a final decision. A couple of weeks later after reviewing all the received quotes, we determined that Daniel's proposal was the best because he clearly detailed each line item and reflected the labor/install costs separately. Whereas, the other quotes were ambiguous and did not take into account the dimensions that I even provided them. No surprise that we decided to go with Daniel, so after placing a deposit, the timeline for our project was finally underway. Once the tank was officially ordered and was being cut to the final dimensions, we ran into a hiccup and this is when Daniel's creativity shined. We had originally intended to place the ordered 60"L x 26"H x 24"D tank within a media cabinet of our Family Room, but then realized that moving the existing TV would not work for the layout of that room. When I called Daniel to ask him for his thoughts, he remembered the photos of our space and then asked how I would feel about installing the tank in-wall between 2 adjoining rooms. In concept, I thought that was awesome, but I wasn't sure how that would be handled. Daniel talked me through the scenario and said he would provide all the drawings/specs that would be needed to hand over to a general contractor and would be there throughout the process to answer questions from the eventual contractor. He even explained the project into phases where the Contractor would prep the space, then Daniel would come in to install the tank & system, lastly the Contractor would close up the wall and complete the finishing work. As you can see from the before and after photos, the finished product is AMAZING and it's truly a reflection of not only Daniel's expertise, but his patience in customizing a system to work within my house and with my preferences in mind. At the end of the day, here are the features of the system that Daniel designed and setup for my home: * 150G Display Tank * 35G Sump with Skimmer, Filter chamber, Refugium, and Return pump * RODI Water Filtration System * 65G Saltwater Mixing Station * Auto Water Changes occur daily for a 3% water exchange & offset evaporation All in all, there are far too many positives that I can fit into this review. Daniel has put in a showpiece saltwater system that I will have the pleasure of looking at for years to come. He is truly a professional and is a wealth of knowledge. I recently got into saltwater and setup a reef tank at home and in the office. Came across Ocean Treasures on Yelp and I'm so glad to have found Daniel and his staff. We looked at Custom Aquarium setups and decided to go with Red Sea tanks with a medium sized one for home and a large one in the office. Daniel's crew handled the full delivery and installation. This thing weighs over 500 pounds before filling with any water and they took the time to set it up right and make sure it was level on the floor. They did some custom plumbing work so that one pump can handle the return and reactor. They also installed a RO/DI system in the office so I don't need to lug water around all of the time. We use them for livestock and maintenance. They can handle 100% of your tank or can work with you as a partner. In the office, we have them come for service every 2 weeks and they give us tasks to complete on the weeks they aren't here. The tanks have never looked better. Daniel has tried (unsuccessfully) to teach me patience and has proven to be right with his advice. This week he saved my home tank from a devastating crash. I was thinking I wanted to make some changes to the aquascape and was about to pull out a few rocks in favor of some others I had at home. Fortunately I called Daniel first and he suggested that I perform a few tests first. Turns out those rocks would have been lethal. The ammonia readings were off the chart and if those rocks went in the tank poor Nemo would have been swimming with the fishees... What really makes these guys deserve a top rating is their responsiveness. Daniel is great at responding to texts and emails. We have a 120 gallon system in our home and my office has a 200 gallon salt water tank in the common area. Daniel, at Ocean Treasures, has done an amazing job with servicing and maintenance of both tanks. When Daniel took over caring for the tanks he pointed out major problems with the systems including safety issues that I knew nothing about. If we had a power outage or if the main pump failed, there would be a flood. Not good anywhere let alone in high rises in the middle of Downtown San Francisco. Daniel repaired this and other mechanical issues with our lights, filters, pumps... the list goes on. In addition to technical problems Daniel suggested a plan to improve the over health of the environment of the tanks so the fish could live healthier lives. Slowly, the tanks looked cleaner and livelier. Where there was once an algae farm and, sadly, dyeing fish - it is now algae free, crystal clear and filled with some exciting fish. If you have a neglected tank that needs some professional TLC or if you want a tank designed from scratch to meet your exact needs, I highly recommend Daniel and his team at Ocean Treasures Servicing. Really bad service. I asked Daniel for a cabinet quotation and waited over a week and he said the cabinet quotation person was out on vacation. I guess they only work with one person. He referred another person Tom to come buff my acrylic tank. No show and don't even call my mobile. Emailed me saying he is 1.5 hours late for a 1:30pm appointment to buff my 10 feet 360 gallon tank. 3pm comes and he can't make it. Of course, I only cleared my entire Saturday schedule, moved and prep everything for this person to no show. Charging $120 cash an hour, wouldn't you expect better service and communication? Time to move to one of their competitors. Emailed Daniel and asked if we can try this one last time (what can I say, tried to give people the benefit of the doubt). No respond at all. Our freshwater tank is the pinnacle of the main bar since 1952 with a custom and difficult to maintain setup. Mr. Bimbo was a leader in the entertainment business, but designer of fish tanks... not so much. I was introduced to the Ocean Treasures retail store a number of years ago (since closed) and my eyes were opened by the sophistication of the systems that were in operation there. I've been in the hobby for over 40 years and recently the remodel of our home included plans for a 375 gallon mixed reef and separate equipment room. I contacted Daniel of Ocean Treasures about a very unique aquarium project. The request was far from your normal aquarium build as the goal was to create a custom aquarium to look exactly like our shelving and backdrop for the garden bar at The Battery. It was for an ambitious film project, when completed would be displayed on 9 flat screen televisions on the back of our Bar. Each screen was to show a continuous and looping view of 9 different staged aquariums that together formed an illusion of a wall of shelving stacked with liquor and decor. Just like a normal bar would have, except if you look closely, there are fish swimming around! The execution of this took great planning and 5 days with a professional film crew. We didn't have any past knowledge of aquariums/fish and we needed Daniel's advice every step of the way. Daniel designed a fully functioning tank with a removable shelf. We waterproofed all our props and bottles and even had a wood backdrop. The filming was all done at the Ocean Treasures warehouse in San Francisco and we had no idea how it would all look until the day of our first shoot. Daniel assisted with the staging of each shot as well as the supplying and handling of the animals. Once all put together, you really couldn't tell that we were looking at an aquarium, except for the fact that there were fish floating around! The final product came out brilliantly. Where do I begin? Daniel was amazing from our initial telephone contact, confirmation e mails and finally coming out to clean our 20 gallon tank.
