The staff are knowledgeable and happy to help find the perfect piece when you dont know what you are looking for. I think they will also carry out repairs, valuations and they buy gold. I quite easily whiled away half an hour just looking at all the beautifully unusual jewellery they have - think tanzanite and moonstone rather than more run of the mill stuff. There's also lots of pretty knick knacks that would make great gifts, like mosaic candle holders and little crafty hanging decorations. If I'd started buying things for myself I'm not sure where I would've stopped so I had to be strict, and just picked up a gift for a friend. This was a cute little trunk-shaped trinket box patterned with maps (which I definitely have a fetish for) and for £5 was a bargain. As if that wasn't enough, a nice little chat with the friendly guy at the counter made sure I left with a smile on my face too :)

The man seemed to know his stuff and I confirmed that when asking around club members. He was extremely helpful, even to the extent of allowing my partner to try woods before purchase. Not only bowls wear here either. I enjoyed a superb experience recently when looking for an item myself. A Dad came in to the shop with young son to choose his first cricket bat. Tony, the shopkeeper, talked the lad through the important job of sizing correctly, etc. and the boy left the shop bursting with joy. Took me back some years! I'll certainly be back for equipment, soon,and checking his website. I've also noted the shop handles a lot of raquets, with 'no strings attached', worth remembering. Difficult to get these restrung anywhere south of Maidstone!

She will even carry out alterations to costumes if you need them. Good with ideas too if you are not sure what you want dress up as. A real Mr Benn type of place.

The quality of their items is very high, if a little traditional, but if you are looking for dependability and durable items this is the place. Always seem to have what I am looking for, sometimes a little pricer but worth it for the service.
