We chose A+ based on the professionalism of the owner, Phil, and what we considered to be a fair price. He helped us pick a color that stayed within our HOA guidelines and after having to change the color once more (right after they had already started painting. Sorry) We set up a start date for a couple months in the future but had to reschedule for further down the road due to sketchy weather in the forecast. As the sun rose on the day of reckoning I was super nervous how things were going to go. We had been burned by contractors before. Lo and behold Phil showed up right on time with a CREW of men ready and willing to get to work. I don't if there were 6 or 8 or 10 there was just a great group of workers ready to work and eager to do it. Our job was tasked to take 5-6 days but after day one we knew It would not take as long as expected. Day 1 and 2 blew by like a dream. Every time I came home from work I felt like I was coming to a new home. Day 3 the crew worked overtime to finish. They were meticulous! My house looks fabulous and we have been handing out referral cards for A+ painting to all of our neighbors. I'm sure they will be having a LOT of new business coming their way! them!

He left with a promise of having an estimate to me ASAP given the extenuating circumstances. To date, October 31, 2023, 3 WEEKS after coming to my home and many calls and texts from me, I still do not have an estimate. My last message on 10/30 was to please send me a quick text or give a quick call to let me know if they've decided they don't want the job. (Some repairs and also painting my entire home.) I mean, come one, it's just a little common courtesy and professionalism to let someone who's counting on an estimate that you've changed your mind about doing the job. Their silence speaks volumes. Unfortunate that contractors are like this. There will come a time when things are slow and maybe they'll wish they'd have treated potential customers better.

They sanded and caulked it and painted it. They did such a great job and the owner and the guy who did the painting were both very professional and knowledgeable. They did such a good job on the trim in the front that I didn't even notice the paint since they did such a good job matching it to the original color. I felt that the price was fair. They provided the paint and I'm so happy they did since they did a much better job matching the colors than I would have.

The wall area was about 4 foot by 8 foot, one ceiling spot was about 2 foot by 3 foot, and the last was about 1 foot by 4 foot. The problem was that the walls and ceiling have texture. The walls have orange peel and the ceiling has some weird, thick texturing. Efren sent in Thomas and I cannot give this guy enough credit for the insanely amazing job he did! The repairs cannot be distinguished from the rest of the walls and ceiling! I am completely blown away, I've never seen this level of skill in my life! I absolutely recommend Straight Line Painting. We are now into December and still the job is maybe halfway complete. They often do not show up when promised and when they do, they only come for a few hours. They have promised multiple times that the job would be completed on a specific day. They promose to be out but often never show. They dodge phone calls. They slopped paint all over her wooden baseboards and never cleaned that up or fixed it. There are many areas that will have to be touched up due to poor craftsmanship. They, of course, have taken 2/3 of the payment but haven't even come close to doing that amount of work. They clearly have taken advantage of my mom and I believe this answers loudly to their lack of integrity and character.

Stucco Now was recommended by our roofers (A Plus Sustainable roofing coatings, who we'd also…read morerecommend) to do some stucco repair in preparation for a new roof. Gary Hernandez from Stucco Now came out promptly to assess the whole house, and expertly determined which issues needed to be dealt with right away and which could wait for a while longer. In addition to the main cracks, the workers fixed a couple of cosmetic cracks as well. One more substantial thing didn't get done (for good reasons, based on the judgement call of the very experienced crew foreman) and the job didn't take as long as had been estimated. We asked for the invoiced cost to be reduced to adjust for the difference between the work as originally bid and what actually happened. Gary listened to our feedback and perspective, sent a worker to address a repair that didn't meet his quality standard, and he reduced our invoice. Gary was competent and professional throughout (and so were the workers who came). This is a young company (they are licensed, bonded and BBB accredited) and through our discussions with Gary, we know that they are working on making Stucco Now the best company out there. So, our experience with Stucco now is that they're prompt, responsive and quality oriented, and they will work to make things right if the job doesn't go as planned.

We used New Life Painting aka Javier Cairo in October 2020 to paint the inside of our home. He…read moretold me four days and it took 3 1/2 weeks. I was happy with the work but not the timeline. We hired him again on April 15, 2021 for stucco repair and entire exterior painting of our home. He told me four days and said he would start the 21st and be finished by the 27th. I was happy with that because we we're scheduled to list our home for sale May 1, 2021. He started April 23, but was not finished with the work 33 days later so we let him go. It has cost us $6800 SO FAR to repair the work he did. WHY? First, he used different colored stucco in several different areas on our home. Then he rolled and sprayed the home in different areas. The home looked blotchy and in the areas of the different color stucco it looked terrible. Additionally, he texted me on three different occasions to pay for the paint which was included in the price because he left his wallet in the other truck, he had to pay someone in El Paso, etc. Then the paint didn't even show up at my house. I know now he had me pay for someone else's stuff because I called the paint store and it was primer. Last, he told me at one point he would be finished by 10am the next morning and wanted the rest of the money now. Thank God I said I had to see it finished first because Javier was no where near finished. He didn't show up the next day so I called two painting companies to come out. Both came and both, at different times, told me Javier was ruining my home. I immediately let him go and hired one of the companies to completely redo the paint job Because neither company would guarantee their work unless they redid it all due to how bad it was by Javier. Here's what I haven't told you yet which will cost me more money--- 1.) Javier dropped stucco in my new air conditioner (purchased Jan 2021) and I now have to get it professionally cleaned out because the stucco is on the fan and can put the fan off balance. so if I don't get it cleaned they can void warranty and my ac can break down. 2.) Javier broke 36 roofing field tiles and seven ridge tiles. I sent him pictures and have waited a week for him to drop off the tile material for our roofing company to fix. As you can see in pictures, he still hasn't dropped off paint, trim paint, or the tile. I have plenty of pictures, snapshots of all his text messages, and proof of who he is from my camera system (Which they broke one of them, too). I'm trying to get these to load on here. The night before they were to start the job, I got a text at 10pm stating they'd need to push out a day. I understand that kind of thing happens, but it's bad form to text a client so late the night before. I had to follow up time and again regarding arrival times, etc. There was no proactive communication on their part. They also dumped over a gallon of paint in our front yard. We now have to throw away all of the rock in that area and spread more to make up for it. They also broke a decorative element. Even with all of the challenges, we're considering them for another job on our interior. We support small businesses and really appreciated the work they did. Just wish for more professionalism and concern for our home.

We live in another city, and were only able to meet face-to-face with Arturo a few times. But despite the remote work, it was an amazingly positive experience. This job included floors, doors, cabinets and countertops, minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, etc. When challenges arose, Arturo responded each time with "What can Sunset Valley do to make you delighted?" His crew was neat, arrived on time, was respectful to our tenants, and completed the tasks in the promised time. His prices were not cheap, but they were fair and the work they did was stellar.
