Staff in here are great, always have lots of fun when I'm here. A fifth star would be awarded for lower prices on refreshments.

Review Highlights - Odyssey Bowl

When I was young there was actually a bowling alley in the tin-poke shanty town that I lived in, long since closed.

Lisburn Bowl - Not gonna lie I really was tempted by this!!!

They offer a private function space with separate bowling lanes for up to 50 people, for parties/corporate events. There are some good food offers through their Pins restaurants, including: - 1 course & bowling for £9.99 - 2 courses & bowling for 12.99 - 3 courses & bowling 14.99 Food options include burgers, chicken strips, lasagne and it also has a fully licensed bar. In addition to the bowling, they have a good selection of arcade games & pool. It's a good wee spot for an evening with friends or to entertain the kids

It's really modern and is the first bowling centre in Ireland to offer the BESX bowling system which has lots of features, Games and huge quality art graphics. The arcade area has various ride on games, basketball shooting, Teddy grabbers, air hockey and pool. They also have computer rooms with loads of xbox's hooked up to flatscreens for birthday parties and private hire. Theres a simulator screen for football, golf etc but both times I've been it has not been on which is disappointing. The majority of the arcade games dispense tickets based on the number of points you score and these can then be taken to a prizes counter and depending on how many tickets you collect you can win anything from haribo to coffee mugs to skateboards and kids toys etc. The centre is situated beside the leisure centre, cinema and lots of different restaurants/cafes so there's plenty to entertain the kids and the adult kids too. Not a bad spot to spend a rainy day.

Firstly a note on the centre as a whole - with lots of attractive indoor facilities it's a fantastic place to take kids (I was with my nephews) and there's loads for them to do and for you to spend your money on. In my opinion the reception area could do with a revamp, no matter how good the facilities are it's your first impressions that count. Xtreme Bowling is like normal bowling but coupled with UV lights and loud top 40 chart music - these two added elements make it feel more like an under 18's disco. There are 20 lanes although I'd advise booking in advance as when we attended we got given the last lane. It cost's £19.50 for four people (family pass) and I'd say it's well worth the money! There's an in house DJ who comes around giving out spot prizes to kids which is a nice touch. If you're not too good at bowling or have young kids they will put the buffers up and provide you with a ramp so it really is suitable for all ages and abilities. My nephews seemed to enjoy it but they didn't once mention the UV lights which I thought would have been the major talking point. All in all it's a good complex and a nice twist on regular bowling.
