TL;DR I've had an overall positive experience with Dr. Ofek and his office, and his work made a night and day impact on debilitating hip pain during my pregnancy. I couldn't take the stairs due an old injury and my pregnancy, but after two visits with Dr. Ofek, I could walk normally again with pain. I have been to 4 different chiropractors in my past and feel relatively comfortable with chiropractic care and body work. When I became pregnant for the second time and developed serious hip pain, partially thanks to an old injury, I'm surprised I didn't think to visit a chiropractor until it was recommended to me. I had been working with a pelvic physical therapist, who helped with some muscle tension relief, but it wasn't until the day after my second Chiro visit at Ofek's that my body felt safe and comfortable. Since then, I've been keeping up a maintenance schedule of visits. I started with once a week and just recently feel comfortable with two weeks between visits, even in my third trimester. TREATMENT Dr. Ofek uses a few different techniques, most of them I was already familiar with from past Chiro offices. If there's a technique you're uncomfortable with, chances are, he'll have another option available to use instead. Examples I've used: manual manipulation, pressure, theragun. I appreciate how he doesn't just check on how my hips are doing but also does an overview of how my whole body wellness is doing. For example, he has some techniques that can assist with acid reflux and jaw tension. KIDS There's a kids play area for little ones in the small lobby. When I first brought my young children with me, Dr. Ofek took time to explain to them how he was helping my body so they could feel at ease in the treatment room with me. (My kids have not gotten treatment, but I know pediatric chiropractic is a specialty here.) LOGISTICS & SCHEDULING The office managers are both very friendly. Plenty of parking is behind the building. There's a single bathroom in the building (a converted house). There is one treatment room, which will have its door open for most patients. There is also a PT room of sorts with gentle exercise equipment. And there is a private office where the doctor will speak with you for in-take. (As I write this, a child is getting treatment with their parent present, and the treatment door is closed for privacy.) I really appreciate how the office often has appointments available day-of. I definitely prefer to schedule ahead of time, but sometimes your body surprises you and needs help right away. read more

After years of back pain I decided to get a proper fix. I came in with some pinched nerve issues, could walk, hardly breathe, everything hurt. Within a few days of treatment I was back full speed ahead. Since then, I started an 8 week program to fully correct scar tissue and a misaligned spine and neck. Before any treatment was given, x-rays were required. That showed me that Ofek really does take into consideration your well being. I have had back trouble since my teens when I was in a bad car accident and I had had to regularly go to the chiropractor since. I've been visiting Dr. Ofek for a couple months now in preparation for a half marathon I'd been training for many months. With a fairly severe scoliosis curvature, I had problems with back and leg pain while running. I'm happy to report, Dr. Ofek not only helped me physically prepare, but he never doubted my ability to complete the half marathon...he even emailed me the weekend of the event with words of encouragement! After the half marathon, we realized I had dislocated a bone in my foot, and I had been reduced to walking on crutches until I was able to visit his office. The moment he adjusted my foot, I was able to walk again, and over the course of several visits, I barely have any foot pain at all! Dr. Ofek has cared for my entire family. He is compassionate, kind and gentle. He helped me through a very rough patch of widespread pain and plantar fascitis following a cross country move. Before seeing Dr. Ofek I could hardly walk without pain, and in a very reasonable time period I was feeling much better. My kids absolutely love him. The way he relates to children is fantastic. You can tell he remembers what it's like to be a kid and can relate to them on their level. All while being completely professional and still able to relate to their parents. I am a runner. For a while I was unable to run due to back pain, most of which probably stemmed from my day job in front of a computer. I would also get a tightness and soreness at the base of my neck whenever I became stressed. After some time, I just couldn't take these problems anymore, so I sought out a chiropractor. I'm glad I found Dr. Ofek. On my first visit to his office, he very quickly diagnosed a misalignment in my posture and a tightness in the back muscles surrounding my spine. For whatever reason, my left side had been overcompensating for my right, causing the tightness and pain. He had me come back a few days later to go over an extensive treatment plan that he had worked up for me. I'd never had a medical professional spend so much time and effort on patient education, explaining in detail exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I started the treatment plan, and after only a couple of adjustments, the neck issue was basically gone, and the muscles in my back had started to loosen. After maybe a week or two, I was able to start running again with little to no restriction, and I'm now back to my full training capabilities. I'm about three quarters of the way through my treatment, and I no longer have any neck pain and only a couple of times since I've started have I felt a twinge of upper back pain from my computer job. Dr. Ofek is especially good for runners, as he is a runner as well. He gave me stretches and exercises to do to strengthen my shoulders, back, and legs (problem areas for my posture and hip alignment). I feel like I'm back to running as well as or better than I did before. He's also very interested in nutrition, and we've had many discussions about that as well. It's a small practice, and the office is unassuming but very pleasant. Dr. Ofek is an exceptionally positive guy and is always encouraging and friendly. I don't dread my visits the way I always diid with other doctors or chiropractors I've tried before. I would recommend Dr. Ofek to anyone. read more

Dr. Ofek is a great chiropractor. I grew up with AO(Atlas Orthogonal) and have always preferred that technique. However, I could not find an AO chiropractor in the area so I ended up giving Dr. Ofek a try. He uses a unique method to adjust the neck with a specialized activator. His method may be better than AO and is much better than extremity manipulation(hand techniques). Dr. Ofek's has used hand techniques for my adjustments from time to time and his are the best I have experienced so far. His technique is gentle, effective, and precise. Thus, I trust him and let him decide whether or not to use the activator or a hand technique. Sometimes he will mix it up and do both on the same visit as he can tell when a specific subluxation will benefit more from one method over the other. TLDR: I've been around chiropractic for 23 years, so trust me when I tell you, he's good. read more

I actually registered now just because I feel the need to leave this review.. I was sucked in by all the amazing reviews on Yelp and Google and don't want other people making the same mistake I did. I, like Justin, am kind of bummed because there is no way to leave zero stars... Although he is very nice so, there you go... There's your one star... You have to pay $150 for the initial consultation, upon which you are told that he won't file insurance claims for you and it's all going to be out of pocket.... (That's kinda a pain... But, okay, I can deal with that).... Then,... What's made to sound like an "option" is that you buy a package of ten visits and you get one on the house, or twenty and get three, etc and so on... What he doesn't say is that this is the ONLY option. You have to SHOW COMMITMENT to this 'care' by paying for a MINIMUM of ten visits up front (of course NOT including the $150 Consultation Fee you're paying just for the first visit... Had I known that paying per visit was NOT an option, I'd have $250 more in my bank account.. Who knew? Now you do. read more

I came to Dr. Ofek at 38 weeks pregnant in desperation because i couldn't walk without assistance. the pelvic pain and lower back pain was unbearable i wasn't sleeping. Went to hospital and because i wasn't in labor there was nothing they could do. I went and got adjusted and instantly felt a whole lot better!!! I could walk without it feeling like my hips and pelvic bones were gonna break. I went back 3 days in a row and it made a world of difference. I delivered my baby 3 days later. I came to Dr. Ofek in late Jan/Feb down in my back. I was 2/3 of the way through training for my first marathon and I couldn't walk. He did the inital assessment and sent me to get xrays then explained what was going on. Luckily I didnt have any ruptured discs but my spine was pretty out of line and I had alot of muscles, tendons, and nerves pulling every which way because of it causing the pain. I had about a month to go before the race and started treatment. I was already feeling the effects a few adjustments after starting and have been slowly getting back to square one since. I am now wrapping up the plan that we put in place and starting off training for a marathon in November. Not only does Dr. Ofek provide good chiropractic care, you also get untangibles with him. He is a glass half full guy in that he's always positive even at 7:30 am on a Monday. He gives insite to living a healthy life with talks while you're there for a visit, emails, newsletters, seminars, etc. I believe he goes above and beyond what you'd expect out of a chiropractor. He will listen, evaluate and almost immediately begin to use his skills to get relief. X-rays and comparison models are used to determine a course for treatment that is well explained and direct. I first started chiropractic care almost 10 years ago as a teenager when I was pretty active in running/gymnastics. I stopped after about a year and although I gave it a second thought at times I never looked too much into it. In October of 2015 I fell and had a pretty bad injury to my back, finding it hard to move quite frequently. I do CrossFit three times a week and knew that something had to give or I'd likely be out of commission and possibly even worse for a long time. I looked into chiropractors in the area and found Dr. Ofek and a few others. After calling them all, Dr. Ofek was the only one who gave me a piece of mind just in an initial phone call. His attitude and knowledge were so awesome so I knew I had to go visit. My initial visit was pretty great, I SO appreciated the fact that he did a thorough exam and was very upfront about EVERYTHING related to my care regimen, from timing to cost to insurance, expectations, etc. He sent me for x rays which only took about 10 minutes and I was able to walk right out with them to bring back for review. I have heard and actually seen chiropractors who do not do initial x rays which is a HUGE red flag so I was super happy to see that Dr. Ofek wanted to know exactly what was going on so we could go about the right way. Four months later and I am back at CF getting PR's and feeling awesome. I visit Dr. Ofek about once a week and it has really done wonders. I was actually on an impromptu business trip this week and my first thought when I found out I had to leave was: "oh no, I will miss my adjustment this week!" I have no more pain and can tell that my mobility has increased even more to what I was doing prior my injury in October. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not go here. Dr. Ofek won't take your insurance and wants you to do the leg work for reimbursement. Charged us $225 to look/talk to us. Scheduled x-rays, got x-rays still no "treatment" then proceeded to want $2000 and me to come in three times a week for 12 weeks. Nothing like leaving work early to pay someone more money. read more

Dr. Ofek is incredible. I began getting adjusted when I was 32 weeks pregnant because my baby was not in the optimal position in utero for delivery. He has great experience working with pregnant women and also young children and babies. I brought my 7 week old son to Dr. Ofek for help with his reflux. After the very first visit, baby boy was visibly more comfortable and slept peacefully for the first time. I was as skeptical as they come, but I'm glad we entrusted Dr. Ofek with our little one. Our 2 y/o son had been sick for over a week, and waking up at least once throughout the night with severe cough. We took him to see his doctor and said he had whatever bug was going around at the time, and told us to just give him over the counter medication for his flu-like symptoms. We did, but after a couple of weeks we noticed his condition wasn't improving; in fact, it was getting worse. He was still waking up in the middle of the night, and still coughing. So we took him back to the doctor and were told he had an ear infection, in both ears. So my little one was then referred to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. My immediate response was "I don't want him to get tubes put in his ears." So my husband suggested we take our son to see a chiropractor instead. I've always been skeptical of Chiropractors, but my husband has always been an avid believer. Being that he, himself, had suffered from ear infections as a child, but completely stopped getting them after seeing a chiropractor. At this point, I was willing to try it all, and I'm glad I did. I started looking for chiropractors around our area, and saw that Dr. Ofek's practice had great reviews. Still, skeptical, I agreed to make an appointment to see Dr. Ofek. Well, let me tell you that after just a couple of visits, my son is now sleeping soundly throughout the night again. He is no longer coughing, and has regained his energy. I'm not sure how Dr. Ofek did it, but he did it and we couldn't be happier =o) My only regret is that we didn't bring our son sooner. I've suffered from minor to sometimes severe backpain ever since my car was struck from behind two years ago. Knowing that I was very interested in a VBAC delivery with my second child, an out-of-town friend suggested that I try seeing a chiropractor with the hope that it might help align my body for a successful natural delivery.
