He's brilliant, a true nerd about his craft, and just the most hilarious, charismatic, and thoughtful person. His practice even has a relaxing resting room you can use before and after your adjustments to mentally prepare for the amazing experience you're about to have. In 2022, I was diagnosed with relapse-remitting multiple sclerosis, and I was struggling with chronic pain, cramping, numbness, brain fog, and fatigue. I also have TMJ. I'd tried everything--medicine, acupuncture--but nothing was truly effective until I started seeing Dr. Kris. Since then, about 95% of my symptoms have been relieved. I'm so incredibly grateful for his care. This is by far the most effective way I've found to manage my MS symptoms. I will be a patient for life! I'd like to add that I just read his 1/2 star reviews and that's simply not true. The experience of having a chiropractor is that it takes time to see results and Dr. Kris explains this. He gives you a consultation with x rays before you commit to a large financial ask. We choose to trust that the medicine we take that we've never seen the science behind it at all. To be clear, I support taking medicine as needed but it's usually symptom treating. I am returning patient of Dr. Peterson aka Doc. I started my treatment with Doc back in 2006 & after my first visit treatment (post-consultation) I felt deepen relief. Relief for my severe stiffness in my Lumbar Spine aka Lower Back equating to the pesky L6 & L5 hinderances. Not to mention my right shoulder & hip flares up. I happened upon Virginia Hill chiro just by searching online for chiropractors near me. I called and spoke to a lovely woman who asked me a few questions and suggested that Dr. Kris would be a good fit for me. I am very happy that I made that call! I had not seen a chiropractor since moving to ATL but had seen one regularly beforehand. Years prior I was told that my neck is curved the opposite way than it should be and my neck and back problems were a result of that issue. Seeing my chiropractor certainly helped but the adjustments I was receiving were the lower vertebrae. The relief after each visit was fairly brief. After about 6 months in Atlanta I found myself in discomfort in the middle of my back. That is when I met Dr. Kris. He explained that his practice was different and that his focus is on the root cause over the symptoms. He focuses on adjustments of the upper vertebrae. I will leave the full explanation to him, but I can say that I have literally never felt better. I never thought that I could find this level of relief. He recently took new x-rays after a year and my curve is actually reversing. On top of it my allergies have significantly improved which is definitely connected to the upper vertebrae which is my primary issue. I have seen instant and long term results and he meets me where I am. Based on my current state, I see him monthly but when I am "out" it is every two weeks or weekly. I used to get adjustments from Adam when he was still here, and I always enjoyed the service and the fact that they took my insurance. However, I let a few years pass and when I was in terrible pain and really needed an adjustment, I called and was told Adam had moved on. The guy that remained there started trying to sell me some weird holistic health plan where he would adjust my cervical vertebra. He touted it as some "top down" effect that would cure all my other spinal ailments. I was in such pain I asked him over and over again for an adjustment and he kept saying "No, you need this plan that costs $2500 and takes six months," and "At least I'm not charging you for this session." I would have gladly paid to just get some relief from the pain I was in, and still am in despite his having poked my neck a few times. As I was leaving, he told me a story that made it sound like his therapeutic approach had treated a woman's diabetes. That's dangerous talk for a near medical professional with multiple degrees from [checks notes] uh, Life University. I guess I'm upset because I called in, said I needed relief, and he invited me in to waste my time for free, allowing me to leave still in pain. read more

This is not your normal "back cracker." I've written a review on my previous Chiropractor (who was one), and since then, I've been reintroduced to this form of medicine in a whole new light. Dr. Kris (or more informally, Kris) is one of the best I've seen thus far, and I feel renewed after every visit. They have two guys who run the practice in the Highlands/Monroe area, and one of the first things that Kris said to me was that he will not do the same adjustment on me at any time. If it's not outta whack, he won't touch it. Plus, not every person has the same structural make-up, so I won't get the same treatment as anyone else - it's all based on individual needs. After seeing him for over a month now, I've received adjustments pertaining to the areas of soreness or stiffness, and it's been amazing. First off, he does this "before and after" comparison based on range of motion. You and he both can see and feel the difference, before and after the adjustment. Not only do the bones get adjusted into place, but for me ('cuz my alignment is that f'd up), he has also given me exercises to do at home to retrain the muscles to hold the bones in the right place. For "x" amount of years your bones have been outta whack and your muscles have been trained to hold your bones in that whacked out position. Now, with retraining your muscles after an adjustment, your muscles can hold your bones in the right place. Inevitably, this will fix your problem over time, and you'll not need to go back as regularly, as often, and eventually ever. I like this approach, and I've seen it work. I'd recommend seeing them to anyone who needs a Chiropractor. Don't go to a "back cracker" who does the same adjustment on you every time. Just know - you're getting the same treatment as everyone else. It's a waste of money, and you're not going to get fixed up. read more

Less than 5 months to a happy back! I wish I had found Dr. Kris sooner. Now, I know if you are in pain, you would like instant relief... but please BE PATIENT! Read on... I had terrible back pain all day and night for many months in 2011-2012. I had seen several different chiropractors and P.T's in town. I did traction, inversion tables, exercises, massage, Pilates, Yoga, heat and cold therapy, stim, you name it... no one could help me. I spent thousands of dollars and had absolutely no relief. I was really miserable and had almost lost hope, but then my good friend (who had also had horrible back pain) told me about his success with Dr. Kris. I was desperate, and was desperate to find some relief. First of all, Dr. Kris had an excellent explanation of how he would help me, with a helpful visual aid showing the vertebrae and nerves. No other chiropractor had explained this to me as well. I started my visits in September 2012, getting adjusted 3x per week. After a month or so, I began improving. Every time I went for an adjustment, I'd be in pain before the visit, and immediately after my adjustment, I'd feel so much better. I was finally beginning to regain hope. Today, I can sit, stand, run, lay on my back, stand, walk - and best of all, lift very heavy things, and all without pain! My profession and hobby involves weightlifting, and I have surpassed my previous weightlifting records (pre-back pain), so I just couldn't be happier! Thank you Dr. Kris! He explained everything that he was doing, letting me know what to expect. It wasn't like the places I went when I was younger, I like it a lot. I cannot recommend Dr. Kris Peterson enough. He absolutely has a gift. I have been seeing Kris since he was in school, for over 10 years now. I have a horrible case of scoliosis and was only ever told by other doctors to take pain meds to help with the everyday back pain. Since I started seeing Kris and getting adjusted by him regularly, I have been pain free and able to strengthen my back . When I feel so good and forget about seeing him for a couple of months, I ultimately do something to hurt my back and he is right there to fix me up! Sometimes even fitting me in immediately. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kris at Virginia Hill Chiropractic. I've a very active person who enjoys doing aerial silks and as someone who has always believed in chiropractic care (it's been years since I had been to a good chiropractor), I knew that in order to get rid of the various aches and pains and improve my aerial techniques, I would need to see a chiropractor. I was referred to Kris by a fellow aerialist. Besides my physical activities, another reason why I decided to get chiropractic care was in my early 30's, I was diagnosed as having premature menopause and placed on hormone therapy to help deal with the unbearable hot flashes. The hot flashes were intense, almost every hour and even at night which interfered with my sleep. I have been on medication on and off for about 7 years. Each time I decided to stop taking them, the hot flash nightmare would begin then I would restart the medication. This year, knowing the adverse effects of being on prolong therapy and frankly tired of having to remember to take a pill every morning, I decided that I would "conquer" the hot flashes. Even if it meant traveling to Nepal to find relief! Luckily, I didn't need to go to far. I stopped taking my medication in mid January...I wasn't getting as many hot flashes during the day, but they increased at night. I thought.."Here we go again.." To make a long story short, I have been seeing Kris since Feb 2 and I may have 1 or 2 small hot flashes during the day and maybe 1 at night. I made him aware of my diagnosis and he explained how the adjustments would affect different areas of my body. He was absolutely right. I am experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care. Dr. Kris knows what he's doing and he will explain everything to you in a friendly an professional manner. I know that I still have a ways to go, but not only have I found relief, I feel stronger while doing aerial silks. Disclaimer: please note that my doctor would always encourage me to stop taking the hormone therapy as prolonged use can have adverse effects. Because my hot flashes were so intense, she would refill my prescriptions because she knew this was probably the only way to help me. (A medical doctor won't often recommend alternative therapy). I just finished my first visit with Dr. Adam at Virginia Hill Chiropractic. I injured my shoulder over a week ago and after thinking it would just "pop" itself back into place, I decided to try the chiropractic route. I didn't get much out of my experience at another practice years ago, but wanted to give it another shot. I chose Virginia Hill because it was covered under my insurance and I liked their website. I called this morning and Kerrie worked me in for the same morning. Dr. Adam spent about an hour and a half with me and explained everything he was doing, the names of the muscles, and how one muscle group relates to another. The visit felt laid back and professional at the same time. I was referred to Dr Kris by my sister. I went to him with a sore hip, in lots of pain. After an hour and a half on my first visit, I walked out with a sore hip and spent $345. I've been coming to see Kris since 2011, since then the cost of my medical bills have gone down substantially, think $300+ a month out of pocket for inhalers to $35-70 to see Kris! I started to bring my mom last year after a doctor diagnosed her with osteoarthritis and said unless she got routine steroid shots and took several medications she wouldn't be able to live life the way she was used to. I highly recommend Dr. Peterson. I went in for discomfort in my neck and tingling in my arms. Dr. Peterson treated the condition successfully but also suggested that he could help with my chronic acid reflux, for which I had been taking daily medication (proton-pump inhibitors) for more than ten years. While skeptical, I agreed to give it a shot, and within a month or so I was off the medication and feeling fine. Visits were initially about twice a week but have tapered off now to twice a month. I've been treated by Chiropractors in Chicago and NYC with good success, but I can honestly say the Kris here in Atlanta has been the best. He really knows his stuff, and is extremely precise with his adjustments, resulting in what I believe are shorter recovery times. Also Virgina Hill Chiropractic offers really reasonable rates! And they will always squeeze you in if you run into sudden trouble (i.e. throw something out). Both Kris and Adam are kind easy going providers who really care. I'm on my way back for my second visit. Until yesterday I had never seen a chiropractor and honestly I didnt believe in them. Well let me tell you I BELIEVE now. After reading previous reviews on Yelp, I decided to go see Dr. Kris. I have had sciatica that limited me from my very active life for two years. I have been through physical therapy, a chiropractor, tons of stretching, read a book on alleviating back pain, acupuncture - I tried just about everything short of voodoo. These efforts gave me improvement, but never completely healed me to the point where I could resume my active life. Upon moving to Atlanta from California, I found Dr. Kris on Yelp. I got drawn in by the "convenience" and alleged economy of the membership strip-mall chiropractors, and I ended up with a very painful injury that only got better when I was treated at Va Hill Chiropractic. I completely trust Dr. Adam to diagnose and treat and PREVENT me from getting into a condition where an injury occurs, and to make recommendations to help keep me pain-free. My body and my life just run better when I stick with Va Hill Chiro. Specifically, I really appreciate the fact that Adam diagnoses and adjusts what needs to be adjusted instead of using the "crack everything and hope something goes back into the right place" method used by other joints.
