It has now been six months since Off Leash K9 Training-Harrisburg, completed the training of my Goldendoodle, Ginger. Ginger is now 1 year old, and she remains a very obedient and respectful dog. She sits, lies down, minds her place, and heels when directed to do so. Because Ginger lives on a farm, I rarely give the command to heel. Yet when I take her to get groomed, and give the command, Ginger obeys. I only reinforce this command once a month (if that). When I am leaving the house to go somewhere without Ginger, all I have to say is "Ginger, I'm going bye-bye" and she makes no attempt to go for the door. Ginger loves to go for a ride in the car, and if I say "go for ride?" she goes right to the car, and waits for me to say "load up." Maybe it is just Ginger's personality, buy I usually only have to tell her once or twice not to do something and she stops doing it and does not do it again. She ripped open a pillow once, and I really scolded her by showing what she did and I said "No! Bad dog! Don't do this Ginger!" She hasn't touched a pillow since. Likewise, she started to chew on a rug in the kitchen. Again I showed her what she had done and again said "No! Bad dog! Don't do this Ginger!" She hasn't touched the rug since. Ginger also responds (begrudgingly) to ending play time, when I clap my hands and say (loudly) "Stop! We're done." If she attempts to beg food at the table, I can say "Lie down" and sometimes she will obey immediately. If she does not, I will say the command louder and then she usually obeys. If she still does not obey, I then say "Ginger, place!" and I point to where she should go, and then she responds immediately. I don't use the "place" command often, because for some reason Ginger takes it as a severe rebuke and skulks away with her feelings hurt to wherever I told her to "place" herself. However, getting Ginger not to chase the chickens, has been a tough task. It's the one and only time that I still need to engage the collar at a very high number to get her to stop. Except for chicken-chasing, I never have to engage the collar. Ginger is now getting better at stopping to chase the chickens immediately upon me activating the collar. However, but for the collar, I cannot get her to stop chasing the chickens, and Ginger definitely knows when the collar is on her and when it is not. Other than chasing the chickens, maybe I am just blessed with a very obedient and respectful dog, but I believe that the training that Ginger received from Off Leash K9 Training-Harrisburg, contributed greatly to Ginger's usual excellent behavior. It's been a week since our 1 year, 3 month old pit bull Miley completed her 2 week board and train. All I can say is WOW. She is now, truly, a GOOD GIRL! She goes everywhere with us and everyone who has seen her since her stay at K9 Offleash cannot believe the drastic improvement in her manners and behavior. She LOVES meeting new people but her idea of a "hello" was to jump up. She would often knock children over and we wouldn't let her near older people in fear of her hurting them. Now she greets everyone politely by sitting and waits to be pet. She LOVES to be outside, offleash, and gets the Zoomies. Now I can let her out and she can run and play but I know that when I call her back, no matter what is going on around her, she comes back. This is a very handy command for squirrel chasing! We can go for walks and even into pet friendly stores and she heels rather than pulling on her leash to drag me where she wants to go. She sits and "places" where I ask her to and she stays until I give her the "break." Inside, outside, anywhere. My biggest concern was that through her training, her high energy spirit would be broken; but she is still my crazy, wonderful girl in every way with the exception of the added manners. I did days of research before I chose K9 Offleash to train Miley; I can honestly say, all that research paid off. I could not have asked for a better trainer, a better experience, or a better outcome. We can not say enough about this company, the training program, and our personal trainer Rajon. We came to Off Leash K9 as a last chance, tried everything else and failed, option. We were amazed at our dog after the first training session. They were dedicated to helping us understand why our dog were behaving the way that they were, and to help train us to achieve the results we wanted from our dog. These folks are fantastic. They took a very disobedient dog that pulled on in his leash, kept knocking down his "mommy", nipping, running off and just plain being bad and worked magic with him. It had gotten to the point where mommy was seriously considering giving him up. After a lot of searching, I came across Off Leash K9 Training and did a ton of research and discovered that they have a very high success rate with all kinds of dogs. So after a little bit of discussion it was decided to give them a try Step in Rajon, in 2 weeks he took the dog and completely turned him around. I can't say enough about April & this training program! Our 2 year old & 3 1/2 year old Labs were so well behaved when they returned home after their training. Their response to commands is amazing & I can even walk the 2 of them together!!! A feat that was difficult for 2 people before training. It was obvious how much April loves what she does from the first moment we met her. She was so calm & listened to what our hopes were for the program. My children were worried that at the end of training we would have little "robots" & that their personalities would be altered. They are amazed at how calm the girls are but that they are still "Allie & Harper". Just remember that the work doesn't end when the training is done, it is consistency that continues the training at home. My girls know when it's "training time" as soon as they see the remote. I must say I had a dog that I didn't think would be easy to train. He was a rescue dog and after about 2 months I was ready to give up and send him back. Then I seen a video on off-leash k-9training and decided to give them a call and Chris was so helpful over the phone and made my decision easy to go with them. So when his two weeks were about up they said they wanted him longer because he was so stubborn and there was no charge for the xtra training. So after picking up Tucker and working with learning the commands from Chris we took him home. And I'm here to tell you his us an absolutely different dog and so loving and is very good with all the commands he was trained to do. My daughter is so happy and so am I and they said if he ever has a relapse we could bring him back for refresher course. These guys are fantastic! I sent my 9 month old Bavarian Mountain Hound, Levi, to them two weeks ago for the board and train program. We picked him up today & he is a totally different dog. He listens to commands easier, we were able to take him outside without his leash (& he didnt catch a scent and run into the field without listening to commands), & he didnt beg or try and steal our dinner! I cant wait to see what the future holds for our boy and family as the days go on!! This will definitely help with him being a therapy dog! I have a very energetic and young German Wirehair Pointer. Since I went through three sessions with Chris, Woody has learned to heel, come and place. I can take him downtown Carlisle on a busy day and walk him off leash without issue. I have done this several times. Additionally, I hike on local trails. For a GWP, this is the most distracting situation. He sees, hears and smells every possible creature. He really wants to hunt them down. However, I can keep him by my side despite the constant distraction. It was great training and the only issue is mine to own. I need to practice with him more often. This training was worth ever cent for our 16 month old Golden Retriever. We were at a point where Oakley ruled the walks and getting around the block took forever. The change in Oakley has been incredible and now we feel more confident in taking this 80 pound furry guy anywhere. It is up to the owner to practice and utilize all of the skills and suggestions the staff gives. We also like the fact that their training uses simple commands and fewer words than many others. I had a 7 month GSD puppy who needed basic obedience training. Chris and his team had my puppy for two weeks and when she returned to me at the end of those two weeks, I had a well trained and happy dog! She was the most obedient dog I'd ever had and was still a puppy! She was walking off-leash by my side, sitting and laying on command and so much more.
