I called Re-Tech and the tech told me he would re-insert the screen for no charge. Great! I wiped the phone and went to the store. The tech examined the phone and told me I needed a new battery, that the original was swollen. OK, $85 no big deal. I call for a pick up and I'm told that after installing the new battery, the screen no longer worked and I would need a new one. Not good! No thanks, say I, I'll just pick the phone up. I get to the store and I find that they have replaced the screen at no charge, since it was functional when they accepted it for repair. This was the right thing to do and I'm a happy customer. 5 stars.

We went in & I told the tech the problems that we were having , that it kept going on & off only that morning & that it was getting hot at the area where the battery is. Being a master electrician & working on UPS systems I knew it was the battery. I also know you can't screw up the computer buy changing the battery.The tech wanted to do testing on it & I told him it was the battery to just change it. He said he would deduct the testing from the quoted price. He turned on the iPad & it came on no problems. It was losing charge quickly so again it was the battery. He said he would run a movie on it to see how it does so I said ok. The next day he called & left a message that they do not work on that iPad model, I called back & he told me it was because of the screen. I went to pick it up & what he did was killed the battery. He ran the movie on it & drained the battery completely. Now I can't access anything on it because it will not take a charge. The dumbest thing about the whole situation was I told him it was a iPad 2nd gen (he should've known then they don't work on them)& also he could have looked up the model number & serial number that was on the back of the iPad to confirm it. But I guess these tech's aren't that smart & shouldn't be working on electronic equipment. I know apple doesn't repair older models just to get you to buy new ones. But you can buy other brands of batteries that will work. This was a dick move they did screwing up our iPad & then claiming they don't work on that model. This is a unprofessional company

It's a bit pricey and the store was pretty dead, and the customer service was really lacking. The staff weren't mean or rude, they just didn't seem to care or notice I was there. With the store being empty you'd expect quick help, but instead, I had to hunt someone down for the little help I had needed. On the other hand checkout was fast and the cashier was friendly I was grateful for this. If it wasn't that I was short on time I probably would have gone elsewhere. I do want to say that a few weeks ago I had a pre labeled FedEx drop off and this had been taken care of rather quickly and it had gone fairly smoothly. So if you know what you are looking for and do not mind paying a little more or have a FedEx pre labeled drop or a pick up it may be worth your time. There are other services offered so it is possible that I just came on a bad day and you may want to stop by if you need anything in Staples one day. I had my iPhone 13 cracked screen replaced at an "iFixandRepair" at the Silver Springs Walmart…read more The service technician was very professional and performed his task without issue, my "beef" is not with him. I did NOT have any other issues with the phone besides a cracked screen. What I was NOT told, (unless it was somewhere in the shop), was that the replacement screen is NOT a certified Apple component! The screen did not look the same as the original, not too far off but still not as good. Within a day or two, I started having issues during several calls. Screen goes black, cannot revive unless the other party hangs up. Phone intermittently shut down hard several times on its own. 30 days after it was serviced, (lost the receipt so I don't know how long the warranty was, if any), I attempted to do the 18.2 software update. Phone developed an unrecoverable error and software imploded on itself rendering the phone absolutely useless. Took the phone to an authorized Apple service center, nothing can be done, so I had to replace the phone. I service extremely complicated medical equipment so I know how the service industry works, and issues can arise that may, or may not have anything to do with the original issue. Still, I cannot help but wonder if the BOGUS, non-certified part had anything to do with my issues. Had I known this, I most likely would not have had the screen replaced. I would have rather lived with it cracked than to even have the sub-par screen I wound up with! TB2

The guy said he would put the screen I brought him on for $50. After coming back 45 minutes later the guy said that he tried but couldn't get the new screen to work. Then he added that when he tried to put the old screen back on it wouldn't work either! I took to someone more trustworthy who told me that he broke the pin connectors when he tried to replace the screen. I talked to the owner who said it's not his responsibility and that h would not fix it because I brought a screen to him. Oh my goodness! Please avoid this place at all costs! Go to ReTech instead.
