I've been coming to this office max for years and have always left a happy customer. Most of the time I don't need help with my purchase but every time I am here I am always greeted and approached by one of their friendly associates. I like this Office Max because they may be the only brick and mortar retailer that carry the Zebra sarasa retractable gel pens in 1.0mm. I would give zero stars to this company if it were possible. I placed an online order for a banner on May 2nd and elected to pick it up in-store. The computer told me my order would be ready for pick-up the next day by 6 PM. The following day I got an email saying my order would be delayed by one business day. On day three, when I did not receive a text message about my order being ready, I went online to chat with customer service. The agent told me my order would not be ready until May 9th. I informed her that was not acceptable because my event was on May 8th (Mothers Day), and the whole reason I ordered from Office Depot was that they were going to have my banner done the next day. The agent informed me that I would have my banner BEFORE my event on May 8th and that she would contact the store and have someone reach out with a revised pick-up date. I NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE. I went by the store in Woodstock where I was supposed to pick up the banner on Saturday. They told me that my order had just come in on their system the previous night and that it was not ready. I was not a happy camper! They said if I waited twenty minutes, they would rush to print the order, and I said ok and sat down to wait. The manager came over with my banner and said, do you have a copy of the print file on your phone. I said no, and he showed me a pixelated banner. He explained that he could not open the print file attached to the order and had just used a jpeg to make the print. He said if you stand away from it, the image looks fine. Because I needed the banner, I told him I would take it, but he would have to refund $50 from the purchase price. He said I couldn't do that. I told him to keep the banner because I was not paying $90 for something that looked like that. It's unprofessional looking. Then he got mad at me because I was mad. I told him to cancel the order and that I would NEVER shop at Office Depot again. What is messed up about this whole thing is that they said we made a mistake. However, NO ONE EVER APOLOGIZED for all their screw-ups. I should have known NOT to order from Office Depot because the last time I needed printer ink, I checked online to see their ink prices. When I got to the store to purchase the ink, the price was $10 higher in the store. The guy at the counter said you have to ask to get the online price. WHO DOES THAT? This is a horrible company with horrible customer service. I will NEVER shop with them again. read more

Still a huge fan of this location. I use the online part due to my needs. They always have my order ready super quickly. They also call me if there is any question about my order. I haven't had many calls as they understand what I need though my online ordering. Each order has come out perfect! You can use Ebates to find a coupon which I have done every time. I save a ton of money every time I use it! This time I saved $30.00 on a large purchase. The customer service is always great even if you have to wait a bit. Store clean and they have huge isles. Enjoy shopping here . Couple of things which make it difficult to return. Pricing is higher then Walmart and location is not a quick in and out experience. read more

Writing this from the checkout line of the store. One poor employee is manning copy/print and the register, while five managers/assistant managers are talking to one elderly woman about what printer she should get. It took 10 minutes in a line of 3 people to pay, and it would have been longer if another customer hadn't asked a manager to check us out. The manager was rude. This store is a joke. The printing/mailing station needs minimum of 3 employees servicing that counter alone. Waited over 20 minutes just to get waisted on. Told they'd be ready after noon the next day. Came back a day and a half later. Not only were they not done yet; the clerk had us waiting while making copies of something on their machine. Never said, sorry they aren't ready. When asked what he was making copies, he said it'd only take a few minutes to have them made!!! They make sure one, two or even 3 employees greet you when you walk in but that's just lip service. Oh also, they ship FedEx but insure only up to $1000. If you want more coverage than that, they can't do it. They don't tell you that before you fill out the info. on their computer. At the bottom of the entry screen it's says, "If insuring for more than $1000, see associate." Which basically means nothing; since they then tell you they can't do it. They send you to the closest Fedex location. read more

If you work in customer service you have to realize you're required to be personable. This specific store has young employees who mumble, never smile, and talk about how they don't want to do things that other customers inquire about. read more

OMG! I tried to wait patiently for help at the copy desk, but 30 minutes listening to the two employees whine about the computer while dealing with two customers who are looking for something is just too much. Save your time and your hair-go to FedEx office up the street. read more
