This was a lovely experience. Unfortunately, we didn't make it into this location. We arrived around 3pm on a Friday, and waited in line for almost 45 minutes without being able to go in yet. We made the mistake of planning someone else after this, so we had to leave the line and accept the loss of wasted time. Inside the store looks beautiful and I would have loved to see it. The next day, we decided to give up on the cool boutique idea and go to the location inside of Le Bon Marché (department store), which opened a little earlier. Although the ~experience~ wasn't quite the same, the person working was very kind and helpful and there was no wait when we arrived at 10:30am on a Saturday. They do all of the same engraving and customizing, and it was don't in about 45min-1 hour. It was worth going. This is such a great "souvenir" that makes anyone feel special and luxurious. It was also great for gifts. Worth the price to me for my loved ones to have something so special. The lip balms are adorable, too. I did also smell some perfumes and loved a couple of them, but didn't end up buying.

Such a wonderful experience! Strolling through the Marais we saw this outpost of Buly's and had to go in. The inside of the store is gorgeous with dark wood display cabinets. It has an Old World feel. The salesperson treated us so well. He was very knowledgeable about the products. We had a pleasant conversation with him about Paris. A lot of products were sold out as it was late in the day on a Saturday. We did buy the large brush! It's a real luxury item. The bristles glide through my hair. The brush or combs are engraved with your name. While we waited for the engraving, the salesperson wrote our names in calligraphy on a sticker. He also gave us samples . The brush was beautifully packaged.

Daunted by the line that literally wraps around the corner, I trusted the many friends and family who insisted that visiting Officine Universelle Buly is worth the wait. While I arrived at the shop only about 5 minutes after it opened, I still had to wait in line for about an hour. To pass the time, I was handed a catalogue with elaborate descriptions of the shop's products. Once I entered the store, I was greeted by an attendant, who was dedicated to my needs throughout the visit and guided me through the shop. We started with the combs and brushes, followed by chapsticks, and, finally, perfumes. I was able to hold (and smell) each of the products, and most of the products were customizable. The attendants were all incredibly knowledgable about the products, and despite all the attention, I never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything. I ultimately selected a comb for myself and had it engraved with my name (it only took about 20 minutes). While I waited, I smelled the perfumes and took in the grandeur of the shop that resembled a royal apothecary. I left the store convinced that it was worth the wait - it's both a tactile and luxurious shopping experience, surrounded by rich tradition and history. I'd recommend arriving at the store early and doing your research ahead of time to guide your shopping.

Ok TikTok you did your thing! In a real way. The lines for Officine Universelle Buly are seriously outrageous. I told my Mom I wanted to stop in for a personalized lip balm and comb but had no idea we'd arrive to a 90 minute wait just to walk into the store. Absolutely wild! What's even more wild, is little miss impatient (hi! It's me!) stood there because I wasn't leaving France without my engraved curly hair comb and my monogramed lip balm ;) I also picked up a special little gift for a friend and my Mom purchased a couple of balms for my sister and my brothers girlfriend. The experience was lovely once in, and moves swiftly after decisions are made. They didn't have the lighter curly hair comb I originally wanted so I opted for tortoise which the associate said she prefers over the other because the gold engraving stands out more. You have two choices for lip balm cases, ivory or black and a plethora of options for leather exterior where the monogramming is placed and pouches. All of our items turned out well. I'd recommend if you can stand the wait time. The gifts are very sweet and I can't stand a "souvenir", that just screams tacky! Beautiful store, gorgeous product line.

I came in here recently just wanting to browse, but ended to making an impulse purchase. This shop came highly recommended to me by our tour guide, the real Emily in Paris, so I was curious to see what the fuss was about. The shop itself is absolutely beautiful. Full of neat things to look at, there's something on every shelf that catches your eye. The shop people working the day I visited were extremely nice and friendly. They were also patient with me as I tried to communicate what I wanted in French. Embossing and engraving takes 5 minutes, and engraving adds 5€ to your bill. There's a calligrapher on hand that can add some flair to your gift's gift tag. Beautiful products and I will definitely be a repeat customer!

    - Candle in CAMPAGNE D'ITALIE scent - Bottle lotion in Lichen D'ecosse Parfum De Peau The store is steeping in tradition and the ornate EVERYTHING is quite intimidating.. but the staff were exceptionally helpful to a total novice in Europe!

One of the most beautiful stores I visited in Paris -you can see why they have been around since 1803! Just walking in felt like an oasis from the chaos of the city - classical music complimented and look & feel of the space. I almost felt like I had entered a time machine and had stepped back in time. Definitely had the feel of an old school parfumerie. The employees were chic, warm & welcoming. I loved all the details, thought & care that went into the packaging. A lot of the purchases are customizable and can be monogrammed on site. An on-site calligrapher wrote the most beautiful name card for mom, included with purchase. It's easy to spend way too many Euros in this place...but absolutely worth a visit when in Paris!!

I use a hair dryer and flat iron at least a couple of days per week because I have a thick, wild mane and despite it being straight, it's often unruly... unless there's a good amount of deliberate intervention. And because I'd prefer to use hair appliances that actually work to their full potential, I skipped buying a 'dual voltage' flat iron while still in the States and instead opted to purchase one in France. If you think about the math, it works out: 35 EUR for an appliance that you'll actually own for future trips to Europe vs. a single blowout at the same cost. Convinced yet? Actually en route to the Monoprix in search of said flat iron, I noticed Cyra Lydo and decided to stop in. And I'm glad I did: I had at least a dozen flat irons to choose from... everything from travel-size Babyliss irons selling for 25 EUR to high-end heat tools. I picked a mid-range appliance and was quickly on my way. Result = good hair days throughout the duration of my trip, save for the day I was drenched in unexpected downpour. Tip for American travelers: Don't forget that the maximum temperature is expressed in Celsius vs. Fahrenheit!

So early on in my trip, I knew I wanted to stock up on Caudalie items. I decided to get all I need from an actual Caudalie store rather than a pharmacy because I would get points buying straight from Caudalie and it would be easier for me to get VAT refund by buying everything in one place since the overall prices will even out (some items are cheaper in certain pharmacies than the actual Caudalie stores). When I got to the Saint Germain store, I waited a little while because I was told I had to wait for the technician. I figured it's because the technician spoke the most English. It wasn't a big deal to wait and gave me time to do some last minute price checks. When the technician finally came, I basically told her I have a list of items to get. She was super surprised of how organized I was. I had each of the item's name, the US price, the Euro price, and any special offer combos. She was also surprised at the price difference. For example, a bottle of the make up removal oil was around $22USD, it was just 12 Euros at the store. The technician helped me pick out everything on my list and made some recommendations of what I need for my routine. In all, I left with a little over $240 and she threw in handfuls of samples from shower gels to eye creams. She also helped fill out my VAT refund forms. The only bad thing I would say is that I get different advice as far as what I need from various staff. The inconsistency makes it hard to buy the "right" product because I never really know what the right products are! But other than that, I love the Caudalie products and this shopping experience was top notch awesome!

Les studios was incredibly professional in handling our reservation. OUR EXPERIENCE : Lola, our "nez", was fabulous. She gave a really interesting detailed explanation as to not only what we were doing but how and why in both French and English as there was another person in our tiny 3 person group who did not speak English. We did not feel rushed or ignored as rated our scents. Lola was also very patient -it took my daughter and I longer to create our perfumes following the recipe Lola created for us based on our scent likes and rankings- than the other person in our group who finished about half an hour early than we did. It was interesting as she thoughtfully asked us questions as she created our personal perfume recipe making sure to balance the base notes, middle and top notes of our unique scents. FINISHING UP: At the end she helped us come up with an interesting name for our perfume, made sure we correctly finished paperwork that would allow us to reorder our creations if we wanted in the future and gave us some very welcomed recommendations of a special cake place and other food recommendations. 5/5 all day long. Our experience creating perfume guided by Lola was amazing and I recommend you do this the first day you are in Paris as you will create a scent that will be tied to your Paris memories.
