I visited this Sephora store in Paris between 5:20 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. During my entire visit, not a single staff member greeted me or approached me to ask if I needed assistance. I understand that stores can get busy, but I expected at least a simple acknowledgment or offer of help. As a loyal Sephora customer who spends a significant amount at Sephora stores, I left feeling disappointed by the lack of customer service. A friendly greeting and attentive service can make a big difference in the overall shopping experience. I hope the store places greater emphasis on customer engagement in the future. read more

The Grand Dame of them all as I have been told. I have visited 6 times over the last ten years. Always a pilgrimage for the wife. As per my wife, they carry all the product lines versus a neighborhood Sephora location. Most arrondissements throughout Paris have a local version. Super busy. Always crowded. Apparently this is the biggest Sephora in the world (insert Oooos and Ahhhhs here). My friends and I went in hoping to find some cool French items but it was mostly what we can find in the states. That being said, they did have a few things we picked up here and there during our week in Champs Elysees. I bought a Sephora brand eyelash curler for 8.20 Euros, Sephora brand makeup brushes for 15.90 Euros and some John Frieda hair serum for 10 Euros. Ouch, prices are rough in France! The Mecca of beauty. Ok so even if you're not into makeup they have a lot of skin care and body products and perfumes you can browse. This is a world class establishment carrying only the finest products from progressive Korean beauty products to classic French perfumes. The brands source their ingredients world wide such as natural Springs in Japan. Still not convinced to visit? I believe this is the flagship store so it has everything and then some. There's even a little sushi bar inside but makeup on the conveyer belt instead of actual sushi. They're taking the whole consumer experience to the next level. One thing I absolutely adore about this particular Sephora is the amount of helpful employees around the store ready to help you with anything. Three things I learned from visiting this Sephora during a recent visit of a friend. 1. There's a men's section! I'm sure I sound dumb, but I always thought that Sephora was a makeup shop. This one had an enormous collection of men's fragrances, including some exclusive Armani fragrances only available at a couple other locations in Paris. 2. The staff don't work on commission and are really dedicated to helping you find the right scent. 3. Be prepared for crowds like you've never seen - this place is busy all the time. read more

I've been to many Sephoras and this is the grand daddy of them all, hands down! As you enter the store, it's like walking into the Beauty Version of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory with the red carpet and a huge, luxurious bottle of Jadore luring you inside. The location is perfect! (On Champs-Elysees towards the Arc de Triomphe, you can't miss it!) As any Beauty Insider or VIB should know, they offer a variety of brands. You'll need to check it out to see what's new in stock since they tend to change seasonally. Look for the gems that's not available back home! Besides skincare and makeup, Sephora also offers an array of perfume selections. If you're looking for a certain bottle of perfume, you'll most likely find it here. Overall, I love this place! Now, can anyone give me an unlimited line of gift card, so I can start shopping?! haha The prices seem about the same as back in the States, but they offer the VAT form (tax refund) that you can fill out in order to get your money back at the airport. The perfume selection is insane! Then again this is Paris so it shouldn't be surprising. The make up selection didn't seem that huge but covers all the major brands expected at Sephora. The place is a HUGE madhouse though. It's soooooooooo busy despite its size that makes it a challenge to walk and browse around. My favourite: Sephora body lotion Vanille Crème Brûlée. Gorgeous smell. Sephora is one of my favorite stores. During our time in Paris, I dragged BF to almost every single one of them. I wasn't particularly looking for anything but I love looking at the different offerings in each of their locations. By far, this is the largest Sephora I've been to with a huge selection of French brands that are not found in the US stores: Armani, Chanel, Laurence Dumont just to name a few. The Times Square Sephora is tiny compared to this one. This is the only Sephora out of all the ones in Paris that compelled me to make a purchase. There is something glamorous about the red carpet lined entrance before the store opens up to the rest of the makeup. I knew when I walked in that I would be spending a pretty penny with all the GWPs here. I decided on some baked Chanel eyeshadow that is found everywhere else except the US. The lovely French woman that was assisting me turned out to be the Givenchy rep which worked out because I wanted some blush and powder from her line that came with a lovely silver mirror GWP. She was super accommodating and spoke English very well. I asked her if a certain color would look good on me while her US Sephora counterpart will tell me things I want to hear even though it's not the best choice for me. She told me the color was too dark for me and suggested a more suitable one. I'll take honesty any day over brown-nosing. She was nice enough to apply the blush to show me how it would look. Again, her US counterparts only do so if I ask, not voluntarily like she did. If you want to feel pampered, this is THE Sephora to go to. It's just too bad that VIB points don't carry over into the US. There's also a sign that refunds VAT tax that we should have done since that would have funded a new Chanel purse. Oh well. C'est la vie! Edit: I forgot to mention that they had red carpet all the way from the front to the back. Nothing like a red carpet welcome, eh? Could not even redeem my free birthday gift as the sales lady had no idea what I was talking about. We get a birthday gift free in the states each year. I did see lots of product lines we have no access to in the states but the one item I did want and couldn't find in the states as its always out of stock was of course out of stock at the flagship. Go figure. I didn't find the staff all that helpful either. I have shopped in much better locations and nicer stores in the united states. I purchased an expensive lipstick at the Lafayette Mall Sephora. I opened it back at my hotel and found the tube defective. I grabbed an Uber to this store location to exchange the tube. I had my credit card receipt but not the itemized receipt. They would not replace the defective tube! I spent several hundred dollars at the Lafayette store and was given a couple samples and a candle "gift." When I left the store, alarms went off and I was treated as if I stole the free samples and candle. A manager came to validate the free gift to the guard! I was angry and embarrassed. I will never shop at Sephora again and will tell all my friends to beware of a company that has poor customer service and doesn't stand behind their products! read more

I hear an awful lot about Sephora. In fact, every beauty journalist and blogger I know raves about it. And I happen to know more than a handful. But I just wasn't keen. I'm often not keen on buying make-up and stuff anywhere other than my local Boots. I do tend to stick to the same stuff, but I have excema - I stick to what works with my skin. I've got my favourite brands and they work just fine. But then I spotted the Chanel... The idea of buying Chanel perfume, in Paris on the Champs Elysees was so utterly romantic. And so utterly expensive. Not a little either. We were expecting me to make a saving. Instead we're talking about £10-15 more expensive than buying back in the UK. I wasn't impressed and I left empty handed. Which is just as well because I couldn't afford it anyway. Do not go here. They are very very racist. I went into this store to get a price adjustment for some products that I bought online that decreased in price (to simply return at the higher price and rebuy my products at the lower price). There was not a receipt included in the box in which my order came. I showed the cashier my itemized order confirmation for proof of purchase. She then got the manager, Isabelle, who was incredibly racist. She proceeded to ask me if I showed the products I had brought into the store with me to the security guards at the door. Who enters a store and displays what's in their bag? I said no why would I do that. She then proceeded to say that she wouldn't be able to tell if I had just taken these items from the store. First of all these are online only products, so how would I steal them if they're not found in the store. Second of all that is incredibly racist of you to suggest that I would steal something when you would not say that to a white customer. I would also like to point out that I spend $1000 a year at Sephora in the United States, which makes me the top membership level there. I was incredibly disappointed to receive such bigoted treatment and harassment in Paris, France. This manager, Isabelle, then proceeded to call her colleague because she supposedly could not accept my return and repurchase even though I offered ID, credit card information, and proof of purchase. It is sad to realize that despite what you act like, people will insist on treating you in a racist manner. I finally received my price adjustment, and was greatly upset as I left the store because I do not deserve to be treated like a common thief when I spend so much money at this store. Enormous and spectacular branch of the cosmetics giant. Could this be the biggest in the World? It seriously has to be seen to be believed - it is noisy, busy and packed to the roof with every possible brand and form of cosmetic, including their excellent and very competitively priced own brand range. You could seriously spend hours in here and be prepared to spend a fortune as it is almost impossible to resist the temptations on display! The staff are wonderful as well and tend to give away loads of freebies, which is nice. read more

The strip this store is located on is SO busy. It's full of tourists! I came here because I had a makeup explosion in my suitcase and needed to restock. It was pure craziness. I found what I needed and really couldn't browse because it was so packed. Maybe it was because Anastasia BH was there the day before for a launch? I suspect it's like this all the time. Sephora is Paris and Paris is Sephora, it's as simple as that. Sephora's Parisian flagship store in the Champs-Elysées catches everything about the feminine side of Paris including it's sights, sounds and scents. Sephora Champs-Elysées is built like a long, large corridor, of which the first 1/3 is dedicated to fragrances, the middle to color cosmetics and the last part to creams, soaps and other luxury items. The scent that hits one's nose when entering Sephora is a little startling at first, and the mad rush of foreign and Parisian women to and from counters and displays (and the dismay of their husbands that are accompanying them) is a little breathtaking. There is something magical about these shelves and shelves full of tubes of lipstick and pots of blusher which makes one admire the art of "making oneself up to be Parisian" and the effort that goes into the morning routine of the Parisian woman. This magic only slightly fades away when approaching the cash register, waiting to hear the roundup of your purchases. Like I told my boyfriend who was dragged along with: "It's like being kicked in the solar plexus, but I love it all the same". read more

Hot holy hell. Let me just say that I am a VIB rouge member in the US. I've also shopped at Sephora in various cites in Spain. This is not Sephora. First, you walk in to tons of employees trying to sell you perfume. Not fun if you have a migraine. Then, they seem to be playing zones as you ask a question of a worker who is literally doing nothing but standing there and she directs you elsewhere and continues to just stand there. Ok. Sure. The colorIQ is broken. They push higher end brands so you have to be really adamant if you just want a slightly different product in the same brand you currently use. They also have these laminated cards which you are told to take to the cashier. He tells you to take it to the girl at the beauty area in the center of the store. She tells you to take it to the cashier. What the hell is going on? Then you leave and security acts like you stole something (didn't) and searches you while letting other people who set off the alarm pass right on through. This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. Not the place to go if you get migraines. More employees do not equal good customer service. High pressure sales are not customer service. This Sephora is HUGE! It has more beauty supplies than a normal Sephora store. They even do your nails(that's new.) The staff were nice & helpful. It is clean & neat. Also it is convenient to get to from the Marriott next door. The only problem is that when you walk in you almost have a seizure(from the lights.) But, it's ok. Was there 4 weeks ago and tried to buy the new VICE 2 palette by Urban Decay.. the girl who was working there had no idea how it even looks and tried to convince me that the SHATTERED FACE CASE by UD is ACTUALLY vice 2 and even give me stupid look like I'm the one who is dumb. Another day i decided to buy new foundation so i went there and i was picking up right shade for my skin.. it was Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation which is not cheap at all so i didn't wanna waste my money on wrong shade... another girl tried look like big professional and helped me with the shade.. i told her the one which she is recommending looks too dark for me and she way like "no no no trust me i know it better this is perfect for you" when i was back home from my trip to Paris i tried it and OF COURSE ITS WAY TOO DARK! I swear i couldn't believe it. It should be one of the best sephora's but my experience was horrible.. they should send their employees on some trainings about new makeup stuffs more often!! read more
