The actual address is 1037 Salter Path Rd…read more A small 15 car parking lot with changing area and outdoor showers. Rather secluded and completely empty when I went there at around 6pm mid August Friday evening. I believe there are 2 areas for a small picnic and grill as well. Make your way up the wooden walkway and in a minute you get to the ocean, beach wide open for you after taking the steps down. There are shells everywhere washed up on shore and tiny little crabs burying into the sand. Only been there once but the waves were rather large that day, not good for kids. Could be different on other days, but were far stronger than at the Pier on emerald Isle.

There is a grove of Live Oak here that are gorgeous. Again - even if you are not going to the beach it is worth it to stop and see the trees. There is plenty of parking here and the services are kept up. The place is kept neat and clean. There are bathrooms here as well. I enjoy the outdoor showers as we can get showered off and clean off our equipment after coming in from the ocean before getting back into the car. The walk to the ocean is a dream across a well built and properly maintained wooden walkway. It cuts directly through myrtle and yaupon stands so you can see inside that incredibly interesting biome. It is a unique and wonderful experience for birdwatchers and artists. The walkway continues to rise above the dunes and the view of how a barrier looks in pristine state is received. Wonderful! The walkway continues down to the beach. There are stairs that lead down to the shore. Though it is difficult getting a wheelchair down there is a small deck at the top where, with umbrellas or other means, the view and breezes could be enjoyed. The beach itself is a great place to visit. The waters are clear. There is no lifeguard here so all caution should be taken. Riptides and occasional sharks occur here. At high tide the two 'shelves' that are close in will be obscured, so be careful. During turtle breeding season there may be nests near this location. I love to observe them even if I am not there during hatching. Shorebirds sometimes abound and porpoises, dolphins and even whales may be seen!

Great experience. My son has been super eager to go fishing and I wasn't sure what to expect from…read morethis type of excursion. We went with a large family group. The half day trip was 2 hours out, 2 hours fishing, 2 hours back. Unfortunately, as soon as the boat stopped I, and a few others, got sick. The crew noticed this and stepped in to help my son catch some fish while he was feeling well enough. Our group caught over 30 lbs of black sea bass and ringtail porgie.

A group of us booked the 6-person charter for the day on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Some members of…read morethe group brought their own electric fishing equipment, battery packs and all. I don't remember the Captain's name, however the First Mate's name was CJ. We paid to go out to the Gulf Stream to fish. We had a meeting before leaving the dock when we were informed that we would not be going out to the Gulf Stream due to restrictions which made the trip unworthy. Per the Captain, we went out 11 miles and dropped anchor and fished in that area. We were catching fish that we had to through back. I observed the FM claim a fish was too small & he threw it back in, but not before he stuck the fish to bleed it out. I did not understand that move. Anyway, another boat with 2 people on it went out 40 miles and all of their fish were twice the size of the fish caught on boat. One guy caught 55 lbs. of fish and the other caught 66 lbs. and more variety. Total, we caught 64 lbs. Bottom line is if we paid Gulf Stream fishing and didn't go but 11 miles offshore, I believe that we should have been reimbursed for them not holding up to their end of the bargain. Non was offered. While the boat was halfway full with fishers, half of them were puking their guts out by the time we arrived to our fishing destinations. And, some of them were seasoned fishers. Go in the fall. Princess Carolina was definitely a huge improvement compared to the other deep sea fishing companies I've been to. However, I have to knock off a star for the lack of air-conditioning inside the boat. There were bothersome flies everywhere doing their witchcraft in this hot-blowdryer-in-your-face heat. For the money we're paying for a trip, a/c should have been included. Other than that, it was a good trip. It was awesome watching the mobs of jellyfish in the ocean. The staff were friendly and helpful with releasing our fish from our rods. I caught a lot of fish on this trip but none of them met the legal minimum size to keep. However, my party had fun before some of them got sick. Fish will be filleted for you for fifty cents per pound.

When fishing got slow in one location the captain wouldn't hesitate to pull anchor and move to another spot. We caught our limit of tasty Vermillion Snapper. We were lucky enough to see a very large bull shark cruise past us. The boat was roomy and the ride was good. Fishing was so good we only used the cool and spacious cabin on the way out and back to port. Great value and a must trip with visiting family members. We are already looking forward to our next trip out.
