Their dedicated staff work tirelessly in production to deliver truly memorable performances each season. Many people feel somewhat intimidated by opera, but they need not! You don't have to speak a foreign language, or be knowledgeable about an opera's history or composer, to feel a connection to the music, and the raw emotion and passion of the performers. It's a unique experience that is difficult to put into words. Additionally, for those who do want to understand more about the performance, the entire thing is subtitled! A screen hangs above the stage, projecting the English translation. I attended a concert version of Il Trovatore here (put on by the magnificent San Antonio Symphony and cosponsored by Opera San Antonio) and it was truly breathtaking. Performances are limited, so I recommend planning ahead. I'm already looking forward to attending Opera San Antonio production of The Barber of Seville next season (2016-2017). As I mentioned, I'm a fan of planning ahead, but that being said; they often offer great promotions and specials for last-minute tickets! There are MANY wonderful productions year round at The Tobin Center (Ballet San Antonio, Opera San Antonio, and San Antonio Symphony) so be sure to check their calendar! To sum it up: in this girl's humble opinion, a visit to Opera San Antonio is a "must" for any San Antonio local or tourist alike who appreciates art, music, and new experiences.

It was the perfect first opera experience. If you have never attended an opera before, or if you are a music connoisseur, I highly recommend the Opera San Antonio!

They visited our home in advance (at no charge or obligation) to get a feel for the place, select a place for him to perform, and confirm the music set list, which he had e-mailed to us in advance. Chris is himself retired from the Air Force and a former member of Tops in Blue, a touring performance ensemble made up of active duty members of the United States Air Force formed in 1953. Chris plays gigs as a member of The Azul Experience, a three-piece band. However, for our party, he played electric guitar and sang with a backing musical soundtrack. He arrived early and set up unobtrusively as we prepared for the party. He played well timed songs for the surprise and a touching tribute to my friend's career in the Air Force. The set list was quite varied and included everything from Kool & The Gang to Steely Dan. Everyone LOVED the music and he stayed after his performance to just hang out with us. The fee was extremely reasonable. If you need a fun musician at a fair price, look no further!

They had a bar open and some snacks available in the lobby. The seating seemed like the view would be pretty decent from most seats and plenty of ushers to guide guests to their seats. On the flyer it looks like Phantom of the Opera may be here sometime in 2026 so would love to attend! Parked in the garage located directly behind the theater, it was $10 for the duration of the show.

We had tickets to the show bought months ago. The 6 of us ate at bohanans a ross the street. Got to the theater around 720, the doors were open allowing people inside, They had little bags to lock our phones up. We had never experienced that before. Was most interesting. Shame that people cant follow rules and leave phones away. When the show was over, it became the only words can be CLUSTER F---, while the shows first customers were trying to leave the theater, the Majestic thought it a good idea to allow the 2nd shows customers inside the theater. Pushing out the 1st shows customers out side and back doors only to line up around the block to get our phones unlocked. This left many people so far from valet parking and not sure which way to go. Was truly not the way We have EVER ZSEEN THIS DONE. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE in so many ways
