Ohana Therapeutic Massage specializes in offering a variety of massage services that can be combined to offer a unique massage experience for each person: We offer Therapeutic Massage, Myofascial Release, Pregnancy Massage and Biomat services. Since we believe every massage should be customized for the client, we call all our traditional massage services "Therapeutic Massage." It can be relaxation based, or rehab based. Each session combines relaxation massage techniques with deep tissue, trigger point release, and/or muscle energy techniques to get you the most relieve possible. We offer the John Barnes' approach to myofascial release. This gentle, hands-on technique uses sustained pressure to sink deeply into your tissues. That way we can address the root of the restriction, rather than the symptom. Pregnancy massage is massage modified to mom-to-be's needs. It's therapeutic in nature and uses either pillows or the Body Cushion system to support her changing body. The Biomat is the perfect massage primer. It uses Far Infrared rays to create a radiant heat, penetrating 2-4" into the body. This deep relief is perfect for those with arthritis pain, high tension, or those looking for pain relief who don't like being touched.

Established in 2012.

Ohana Therapeutic Massage was opened in 2012 by Paula VanBaalen, LMT. When Paula first started, she was a solo practitioner in the back room of a hair salon. As her clientele increased, Paula realized that the Iron Range needed more massage! So in 2014, Paula expanded Ohana Therapeutic Massage to a multi-therapist clinic in it's own space on Howard Street. Our facility, which is bigger on the inside than it appears to be, has four themed treatment rooms. Currently, we have three skilled massage therapists on staff to help you reach your health and wellness goals.

Paula received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Massage Therapy in March 2009. During her formal education and continuing education classes over the years, Paula has studied a wide variety of pain and stress relief techniques, including: Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Pregnancy Massage, Hot Stone Massage, John Barnes Approach to Myofascial Release, Active Myofasical Therapy ~ The Diamond Method, Reiki, and AromaTouch Technique. As a result, Paula uniquely creates a session completely customized to the results you are looking for.
