A great time in an historic stadium. C Deck just ROCKS. A lot of tradition, to put it mildly.

Beat down. Poor Spuddy didn't see it coming. Mee-chicken State is still in Mee-shitgun.

This is my alma mater and my football team. There are many like it, but this one is mine. I got hooked when attending OSU grad school. I saw TBDBITL do script Ohio and the drum major did a back bend to touch his plume to the ground behind him. Showmanship at it's finest. Whoever thought of all that deserves a plaque. In 2002, my saintly mother said if OSU wins the national championship she will run outside in her pajamas and shout "Go Bucks!" We did, and she did. She repeated the act in 2014 when the Buckeyes defeated the Oregun Clucks. Now she is 92 and plans to do the same come January 2022. Muck Fichigan. Go Bucks!

The Ohio State University has claimed eight national championships in football. Outside of schools from the Ivy League, which won most of the championships in the late 1800s and early 1900s, the only schools to win more titles than Ohio State are Alabama, Notre Dame, Michigan, and USC (Southern California). Historically, the Buckeyes have been a powerhouse in college football and command one of the biggest programs in terms of student body, fanbase, and revenue. To date, Ohio State has also won a staggering 38 Big Ten titles, topped only by Michigan (42). During my lifetime, I remember both of Ohio State's national championships: 2002 (won January 3, 2003) and 2014 (won January 12, 2015). In 2002, the Buckeyes were led by coach Jim Tressel. Tressel was known for his sweater vest. Ohio State beat Miami (FL), 31-24, in an epic, double overtime thriller at the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. They finished the season undefeated at 14-0. Star players for Ohio State included quarterback Craig Krenzel and running back Maurice Clarett. For Miami, stars included quarterback Ken Dorsey, running back Willis McGahee, and tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. The Hurricanes' coach was Larry Coker. Coker led Miami to the national title the year before (2002 Rose Bowl, 2001 season). The 2003 Fiesta Bowl was a great matchup. Both teams came into the game undefeated and ranked in the top two in the AP and Coaches polls (Miami 1/1, Ohio State 2/2). Ohio State's 2014 title game wasn't as exciting nor was the matchup as intriguing. Both teams came into the game with one loss. AP No. 5 Ohio State and their opponent, No. 3 Oregon, were each 13-1. In 2014-15, the Buckeyes were led by coach Urban Meyer. Meyer had previously won two national championships at Florida: 2006 and 2008, both with quarterback Tim Tebow. Coincidentally, it was the Meyer-led Florida team that trounced the Tressel-led Ohio State team, 41-14, at the 2007 Tostitos BCS National Championship. In 2015, Ohio State became the first team to win the College Football Playoff National Championship. Ohio State routed Oregon, 42-20, and finished the season 14-1. The star of the game was Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott who scored an eye-popping four rushing touchdowns. The big name for Oregon was quarterback Marcus Mariota. To me, the most remarkable story from Ohio State's 2014 title run was the situation at quarterback. Cardale Jones, the team's third-string quarterback entering the season, ended up going 3-0 in his first three career starts. They were all big games: (1) the 2014 Big Ten Championship vs. No. 11 Wisconsin, (2) the 2015 Allstate Sugar Bowl / CFB Playoff Semifinal vs. No. 1 Alabama, and (3) the aforementioned CFB Playoff National Championship. Injuries to Braxton Miller (the previous starting QB and 2012 and 2013 Big Ten MVP) and JT Barrett (second-string QB, 2016 Big Ten MVP) paved the way for Jones. What a story.

Unbelievable venue to watch a college football game. Steeped in Tradition as you walk through campus you feel the vibe of a century old establishment and tradition. I happen to have a broken leg at the time so we utilized handicap parking at the Lane Street Garage which is nearby to the gates or offers a shuttle service if you prefer to ride. The band entertains before the game as well as a magnificent halftime show including script Ohio. Many folks say it's tough to get tickets but I found tickpick.com to have plenty of seats with no extra fees! Can't wait for the next game.

When I first moved to Columbus from California in 1989, I was cordially invited to experience the Buckeye's home opener against Oklahoma State. Having grown up in Philly and weaned by the Eagles in the hallowed halls of Veteran's Stadium year in and year out; having lost my voice at every home game in the early '80s at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse (when the Orangemen had a real team); having endured two years as a Raiders season ticket holder in the soaking sun of the LA Coliseum - I actually thought that I had experienced football at its best. Well - I WAS WRONG! As I sat in my seat in the very first row on the corner of the end zone at the open end of the cathedral called Ohio Stadium, I took one look around and said (in awe), "THIS IS FOOTBALL!" The game hadn't even started yet. Needless to say, the Silver Bullets creamed the Cowboys that life-changing September afternoon. That was my official indoctrination into the lore we Ohioans know, live and breath as Buckeye Football and I've been hooked ever since. Need I say more? If you're a Buckeye, you know the story. If not, get to Ohio Stadium before you die. This is where legends are forged. This is where time stops during a classic OSU/Michigan game. This is where boys become men. There's nothing like it in the world and I'm damn proud to be an adopted native and loyal fan of the greatest college football program in the world. "O-H!"..."I-O!" GO BUCKS!

I was provided an opportunity to purchase discounted tickets through my employer and was able to take my 3 year old to his first ever basketball game- and to top it off, the game vs..Michigan! We were seated at the top in section 334 but quite honestly, the schott is set up like nationwide- there are no bad seats! My son enjoyed the entire game and was able to see perfectly fine! The staff was friendly and helpful, very clean and nice crowd. If you plan on dining at concessions be prepared to pay $4.25 for water , $7 for personal donatos pizza (just $2 extra). Although we ordered two donatos personal pizzas and they did not taste as good as when donatoes makes them. They weren't cooked long enough. Normally my son finishes all of his but he said "mommy it tastes nasty"..bummer!

When I was a kid I watched roller derby on TV. It must have been a big thing, to be televised and…read morehave a special place to play with a banked oval arena, etc. It seemed to go away for a long time; the last few years it has been coming back, and now the Ohio Roller Girls have been around for ten years. I started hearing about them a couple of years ago, and finally went to my first game last night. It's in the Ohio Building on the fairgrounds, that weird round building in the center. Since this is flat track derby they basically taped out an oval on the floor. Seating was bleachers, a few folding chairs, and just sitting on the floor like you did in grade school. I definitely recommend coming early to grab a seat of some kind; 2-3 hours of sitting on concrete doesn't work for me anymore. It looked to be cash only; we got our tickets online, but had to pay for fairground parking and concessions so I blew through most of what I had. T-shirts, etc., were available and they did take cards for that. There's a flyer with brief rule explanations, and info on the players, teams, etc. It was hard to figure out what was going on at first, but watch a bit, read the flyer, and maybe search online for some guidelines. Once you have some idea what is going on it looks less like chaos. Basically, one skater tries to push past the other team and go all the way around the rink. The other players try to make a path for her, and block the other team. So. The game. Fan-freaking-tastic. Women skating around- and they can skate well- shoving and twisting and falling. They have pads, but jeez, you have to be sore after all that. We played a team from Toronto, and while both were good the Ohio Roller Girls were way better. Watching them pivot and slip by a wall of players while flying around on skates was impressive. One especially, The Smacktivist, seemed able to magically avoid or slip through any blocking. The announcer was good (though sound quality was iffy so I couldn't always tell what he was saying.) The fans were enthusiastic. The players were competitive. It was a blast to watch. I tried to talk Sweetie into trying out, but she passed. We had a great time.

The players would just stop and wait for the player to come back around... We rarely say the players make if 3/4 of the way around the track, which is where we were sitting. The second game was much more engaging! The players seemed to be more advanced and seemed to play the entire track. Overall, we may not go back unless there's is a reason to be there.
