We came here for the first time with family from out of town. There were 8 of us we rented 2 lanes 31 and 32 for the hour we payed for we got to play 30 mins of play. We could not even play a fool round. We continued to have issues with both lanes and all they would say we are working on them. 30 min we were down and when we asked to get that time back I was told no. I am not one to complain about 10 min but come on we paid to play for an hour we should have gotten an hour or at least compensated for the down time. I have never been so embarrassed with family after I was told this place was great. The management need to understand customer service. read more

This place is a super fun place to bowl with family and friends. They have food and an arcade as well! I liked the jukebox it made things a lot more fun because I'd run back and forth between bowling and playing my favorite songs for everyone to hear. The service was great the guy at the counter who gave me and my friends our bowling shoes was really helpful. Definitely worth the money and the trip. read more

Missy at the counter was extremely rude. We tried to bowl two games, and when the second game stopped at the fourth frame, she said she put a part of our group on one lane (with bumpers and kids) And we added them to our lane. So we have extra frames on one lane, and not enough on the other. How would we know that??? She needs to explain how she's setting us up so we can just bowl two games. She wanted to charge us for another game Times three. But after I pleaded, she said she would let us finish our game. She needs to do better at treating the customer and lose her attitude. read more

I have never experienced anything but professional and courteous service from the staff here. The lanes are exceptional, as far as bowling alleys go, but there are a few jams here and there. Still, staff is very quick to un-jam the return or fix the problem. I own my own ball, but my family has never had an issue with the house balls. Furthermore, though Oil Bowl has been around for as long as I remember, they work hard to keep it tidy and updated in areas where it really counts (scoring computer, for example). If you're looking for a life-changing experience, go to Vegas. Oil Bowl is a local bowling alley and I've never heard a complaint from someone that it wasn't fun. My only complaint? The parking lot. It has more holes than a mesh hammock. read more

Staff are out of line, they make up rules and prices as they please. First time going the person Josh behind the counter overcharged us, we went during the special bowling rate and were charged extra instead of the advertised price. When we questioned the difference, Josh told us it was updated and they had not changed the written price at the counter. We went back several months later and the SAME sign was there with the "old pricing". The second time we went to bowl we asked for a smaller weight ball as the 10lbs are heavy for myself and daughter, we were given one with out any issue or rules to follow. The couple that was assigned the lane next to us, asked where we got the smaller ball and we let the girl know that she had to ask. The girl came back and said they wouldn't give her one, so we offered to share the one we had received. A few rounds later the 8lb ball was taken by an employee during the middle of a turn from behind the pins. When we went to the desk to let staff know, Savanah stated they had taken it because it is only for people 10 and under. Baffled since myself and 18 year old daughter were given the ball 30 mins before. Savanah did offer to give it back, we declined as it became clear this was not about age (which is also discrimination) but about race. We are white and the girl next to is was not, so we could have the smaller ball back but she couldn't use it. This is appalling from an establishment. We will be taking our money elsewhere to bowl. Do better Oil Bowl! read more

DONT GO HERE!! If you want rude customer service and trashy attitudes from all the employees the oil bowl in Longview Tx is the place for you. And don't think that getting the owner is gonna help he is also very rude and unprofessional. Overall the establishment is awful and the employees all need attitude adjustments. read more

This is a fun place for the whole family. It costs $30 and hour for the lane and shoes for two people and then $20 per hour afterwards. Felt a little pricey but the lane I was was mechanically sound and I understand that things just cost more now then before. Plus, what else is there to do in Longview on a first date? read more

Fun place but could use some fixing up - like just painting the peeling wall (which looks awful in pics from my kiddos bday party). Staff is nice but they stay very busy. Ball or pins get stuck sometimes but staff is always good about getting them unstuck for you. Arcade and VR game is my child's fave. Check them out. It's a fun time! read more

besides run down and out dated..... my BIGGEST complaint is the lady behind the desk wouldn't allow my son to have 2 different size shoes... said she couldn't cause they are 'tied together'... I had to rent an extra pair. my son didn't want to say, but he has 2 size different size feet because of a war injury in Iraq.... doesn't matter ...why should it matter that someone needs two diff size shoes? read more

Machines worked well for us in our three games tonight. The service isn't the fastest, but not bad for the price we paid on a Monday night. $1.50 games made for a cheap night of fun. Plenty of parking and numerous open lanes made it a great place to bring your friends read more

Horrible experience yesterday!!! This business needs to make major staffing changes! Went yesterday with my family of 5 for my son's birthday. I had some cookies in a box I was bringing in unaware they changed the policy to not allow food or outside drinks. There was a bearded and very unprofessional-looking man outside playing on his phone that proceeded to educate us with an attitude about the policy. Would have never thought he was one of the staff. I was totally understanding but did ask if there was a refrigerator I could at least put them in while we were there since they were topped with fresh fruit. Again, with attitude, said I could ask someone in the snack area. We proceeded to walk in and then to my family and self I simply commented "I wonder when they changed things because you used to could bring stuff in." Not sure what the guy outside thought he heard me say (the door was still open) but he walked inside yelling "Get Out! Get Out! I was so confused and tried talking calmly to him but he continued yelling. My son came to my defense and then the guy yelled at him to get out as well. It was the most embarrassing moment in front of others that were there in this family-friendly environment. Needless to say, we left and will never be back. It is so sad because I've always gone to this bowling alley and continued to take my children there over the years. I have never been treated this way by staff at any business! It is sad that one guy can create the loss of good business. I'm floored that upper management supports this behavior from their employees because I was told this was not the 1st time this guy has acted this way. I took my family of six to have some fun. The ball return was not working and constantly delaying our opportunity to bowl. We were told if we allowed multiple balls to not return they were going to shut our lane down! So now we had to wait and wait for one ball to get returned. I asked to move to a different lane and they said they would if I paid for another hour. We left this crappy unfriendly bowling alley. I will drive to Tyler if we ever want to bowl again! read more

I wish the lanes were a little more up to date and the general interior looked a little nicer but it gets the job done. The staff are helpful, and friendly, and at least when I've been there and it's slow they still manage to mask any (understood) boredom. I just recently decided to try out their snack bar. The prices seem a little high but it's worth it. I got the chicken strip basket and it was absolutely amazing. The price to bowl for an hour for a LeTourneau student is a STEAL of a deal. $19.90 for an hour for two people is amazing. I definitely recommend thIs bowling alley for some fun read more

For all the leagues that bowl here I'm surprised more improvements haven't been made. The chairs were finally replaced with ones that don't have stuffing coming out. Some things are still in disrepair. The hot water handle in the men's restroom hasn't been fixed in years. The snack bar food is pretty good and have an okay beer selection.
