This town is lucky to have stolen Peter from the bright lights of Vancouver to start this shop 1 year ago. The men of Penticton that frequent Okanoggin Barbers are more dapper that previously attainable and the women of town are blessed with the opportunity to gaze upon stylish men's haircuts meant for a far trendier place than this. For the first time in most small town men's lives, particular attention will be paid to receiving the hair cut and beard styling that will best suit the customer based on their head shape, bone structure and overall threshold for change. I hesitate to write this review knowing that it may mean longer waits to see Peter and his staff on future visits. Asked for a haircut and a beard trim. I had a natural beard that needed minor trimming. I received two, narrow stubble chinstraps leading to a Todd Hoffman-like cork of a goatee. Also a crooked neckline that includes razor burn. I have had many razor shaves, none this rough. When I asked how long to grow back the sides of my beard, she asked my name but I got no answer to my question. I lost my beard and I paid $40 for the privilege. I have heard Peter is good. I'm not prone to do this, but just wanted to tell the world what a find Okanagan Barbers is. Great people, fantastic service and just a pleasurable experience. Everything, from the choice of cold beverage to the hot towels and banter meant that the time in the shop was really enjoyable and I can't understand why any guy in Penticton or the surrounds would even think about getting their hair or beard done anywhere else. Every time we visit here from Calgary, my son stops by for a cut and my husband for a cut and a beard trim. Friendly customer service, prompt, great cuts and they know how to take care of beards. And their price point is quite bit less than the city but the quality of service is equal or better. Glad to see that every time we come here every chair is full!! Terrible hot shaves for all 5 men in our wedding party on 25 June 2016. They all had cuts, their faces were red and felt sore and sensitive for several days afterwards and 3 had patches of random hair left on their face. I complained and did receive our money back which I appreciate but I would hate for another wedding party to experience what we did on our wedding day. Our photos will now have my husband with a large patch of unshaven hair on his Adam's apple. I will never be able to re-do those photographs which I paid thousands of dollars for. read more
