We were greeted and welcomed by Nick and Dianne. Dianne provided us with an in depth, detailed and informative guided tour of the gallery. Dianne explained and shared her vast knowledge and her passion for history which was evident in her storytelling and interpretation of historical information presented. Admission is free.

Visiting the museum is free and open from Monday through Saturday 10 to 4. My visit included 'Sunshine Cinema - Florida in film' which is on display until May 30, 2026. There was a $12 charge for this special exhibit. The docent walked us through the exhibit and shared a tremendous amount of background and information, she clearly has a passion for the museum. The museum hosts many History Talks throughout the year as well as permanent and special collections. There is plenty of metered on street parking nearby. The Historical Society of Palm Beach County is a hidden gem.

All the staff was very kind, knowledgeable and you can truly see the love they towards the animals. It was amazing to see the donkey walking around the farm and interacting with the guests. The children were amazed by all the horses and were thrilled when they found out that they could go for a ride. The event was filled with games such as ring toss, croquet and small inflatables to jump on. We all enjoyed the arts and craft section and puppet show. There is an amazing petting section for the kids were able to interact and brush the animals. Everyone left smiling expressing what their favorite part of the day was and thankful for the experience. Definitely will be coming back again. Thanks Delmar Farm for making today rememberable.

My girls 7 and 8 were Invited to join camp for a week for the 1st time by Claudia and they had an…read moreabsolutely amazing time there. Each day they did something different and exciting and learned alot about how to care for animals. From feeding them,washing them, cleaning their hooves and making horse snacks. Also how to ride with a saddle and bareback. It was an awesome experience that my girls will never forget and all the volunteers were great too. We had the best time here for our 11am standard guided tour. We drove 1.5hr south from Jensen Beach…read morefor this tour and it was so worth it. We had no issue finding the location, just know that you are to park along the road next to the fence. They will come open the gate to greet you are your appointment time. The restrooms are halfway through the tour, so go before if you can. It was just four of us on the tour, my husband and I and another couple. You get walked through their grounds, escorted by staff as they feed the cats. Some are hand fed, some with tongs. You are kept behind the perimeter fence(mostly 3-4ft behind the cage), understandable with children to prevent fingers from entering chomp territory. By attending on a hot day mid May I'd say we saw 60-70% of the cats up close by the fence, some of them were not interested in coming out of their cool spots with their fans blowing on them - completely understandable. In fact, if going on a hot sunny day, wear sunscreen and prepare to be in a lot of direct sunlight. I was not prepared and got burnt. For $50/person this tour is so worth it. We had so much fun and our guide did a terrific job sharing her knowledge of the cats and all the fun facts. She said she was fairly new, but you could tell the cats already trusted her. As adults my husband and I had an amazing time, I can't even imagine how much kids would love this place. The gift shop was great too, we made sure to get our souvenirs including tshirts and hats. Come support this wonderful NPO - not only do that have great tours but you can tell these cats are incredibly healthy and very loved. Their cages were so unbelievably clean I was so impressed.

The large gift shop had a lot to choose from at different prices. We came for the Wine Down event happening right in front of the Delray Affair in April. Wine, beer & soft drinks were available for purchase & I got to unwind & explore the exhibits. The WineDown will be open Friday & Saturday from 12-6 PM and Sunday from 12-5 PM. Proceeds benefit the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce & the Cornell Museum.

Last week, everything came together and we were finally able to stop by the museum after a nearby lunch. The museum is located on the corner of Atlantic Avenue and Swinton. We've passed by many time going east on the avenue. There is metered parking on the side streets. The museum is in the hundred year old plus Delray School House. We entered and were greeted by the docent/volunteer. She told us a little about the building's history and which classrooms were originally located where before the remodeling was done. She also told us that they have no permanent exhibits, and that all the art work in the building was for sale. If you were interested in buying something, you should inquire about the price of the piece in the museum store. The first floor was occupied with works by the American artist, Dorothy Gillespie. Although she was a painter, she also worked in many different media. She was well known for her creative, colorful metal works of art. One quote compares her level of metal craft and skill as equal to Chihuly and his glassworks. On the second floor -- yes, there is a big staircase, but we took the elevator from inside the gift shop/store -- are works by Chilean-born Gustavo Novoa. Approximately 30 paintings show colorful, luxurious jungle scenes with animals. The volunteer said his art reminded her of the lushness of Gauguin's paintings. On second floor, there is also an exhibit of mosaics from a Mexican school. They are portraits of famous people -- actors, singers, etc. You will recognize most of them. The tiny pieces are put together in intricate patterns to form the faces. In some of them, they incorporate other materials -- like a piece of jewelry as a broach, leather as clothing, etc. They are fascinating to view up close first and then step back to see the overall portrait. The exhibits rotate periodically. The museum entrance is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person which we happily paid. I'm glad we finally got a chance to visit.
