We had the best time here for our 11am standard guided tour. We drove 1.5hr south from Jensen Beach…read morefor this tour and it was so worth it. We had no issue finding the location, just know that you are to park along the road next to the fence. They will come open the gate to greet you are your appointment time. The restrooms are halfway through the tour, so go before if you can. It was just four of us on the tour, my husband and I and another couple. You get walked through their grounds, escorted by staff as they feed the cats. Some are hand fed, some with tongs. You are kept behind the perimeter fence(mostly 3-4ft behind the cage), understandable with children to prevent fingers from entering chomp territory. By attending on a hot day mid May I'd say we saw 60-70% of the cats up close by the fence, some of them were not interested in coming out of their cool spots with their fans blowing on them - completely understandable. In fact, if going on a hot sunny day, wear sunscreen and prepare to be in a lot of direct sunlight. I was not prepared and got burnt. For $50/person this tour is so worth it. We had so much fun and our guide did a terrific job sharing her knowledge of the cats and all the fun facts. She said she was fairly new, but you could tell the cats already trusted her. As adults my husband and I had an amazing time, I can't even imagine how much kids would love this place. The gift shop was great too, we made sure to get our souvenirs including tshirts and hats. Come support this wonderful NPO - not only do that have great tours but you can tell these cats are incredibly healthy and very loved. Their cages were so unbelievably clean I was so impressed.

This was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend. We had a private tour with a very…read moreknowledgeable staff member who gave us the backgrounds on all of the different cats they have on site. We went in the hottest part of the day. It would be better to go when it's cooler. The cats would be more active.

Each turtle has a display with their name and story. A small cafe is located on the upper level. Plenty of seating options on the back side of the Center. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center does great things and is a must see visit.

The staff is always so nice and greet you when you walk in and the admission is FREE unless you'd like to make a donation which is greatly appreciated and helps the local turtles and sea life. Kids will have a great time! They even have a children's play area on the upper deck. Very interactive! The outside area is shaded with canopy's and has many tanks filled with turtles, sharks, fish, and stingrays. It's amazing to see and get up close with the beautiful creatures God has created. They have guided tours and there are many volunteers near the tanks to answer all your questions. Very nice, dedicated crew. My favorite is the gift shop. It has a bit of everything you could want and makes a perfect place to get gifts and souvenirs for your family, friends, and yourself. I got a beautiful necklace, a beautiful collar and leash for my puppy back home, and a postcard for my friend. Everything is priced really fairly and it is a donation to help the turtles at the marine life center. I would recommend getting there early or when they open. Parking is HORRENDOUS. It always is usually especially with spring break. You might be waiting awhile for a parking spot. If you see someone starting to leave or backing out wait behind them and give them room to back out and then pull in to their spot. Parking is the only thing that's stressful but you can eventually get a spot. This is a must visit place for the whole family. I love Loggerhead!

We came prepared, filled out the application honestly, and foolishly thought that would help. Cute, right? We listed our current pets two cats and two birds. Our application was denied because we didn't list my dog who passed away years ago. Apparently, even your dead pets need to be "up to date" on their heartworm medication. Who knew? If only we'd brought a Ouija board to confirm her last checkup. Then came the next brilliant excuse: our application was "inconsistent" because the home we live in is owned by my grandparents. Imagine that a family living... with family. How suspicious. Clearly unfit to adopt anything more demanding than a houseplant. After a week of waiting and an hour drive, it became painfully obvious that A Second Chance Rescue doesn't actually specialize in second chances. What they do excel at is inventing new and creative ways to say no. So unless you're the absolute pinnacle of canine perfection with ghost-dog medical records in flawless order and a textbook living arrangement don't waste your time. They'll deny you and act like they've done you a favor. In the end, A Second Chance Rescue is a joke. The kind where you stop laughing halfway through because it's just sad.
