YES! Situated off Mt Eden road so its a little away from the traffic rush. This place is almost always busy. Being an Artisan Bakery, you HAVE to try one of their sandwiches toasted. My faaave is the Reuben. Their barista does an awesome job with the coffees. They also have menu items including pizzas. One of my friends ALWAYS gets their soup cause she's convinced they always do an awesome job. I'm not that much of a soup person myself. My dad used to be a baker and he was pretty impressed with the bread (which doesn't happen a lot!) The only thing I disliked is that they don't have table service. Everything is ordered and paid for at the counter, which is a little inconvenient for large groups and results in long lines all the time.

I've been to Olaf long time ago just for a coffee. So I wanted to revisit this place to try their food. It was pretty busy for a Sunday late afternoon. My stomach was growling, so I quickly ordered even before my friend's arrival! Spaghetti carbonara (19.5) was interesting, but not to my likings. The spaghetti had a touch too much lemon flavour and the bacon was too sweet. I guess I was expecting a savoury flavour. However the Milanese pizza (22) was absolutely amazing. Heavy toppings of mozzarella and salami was heavenly. The waiter was happy to give us both Tabasco sauce and chilli powder to accommodate. Coffee was burnt so I've asked for another one and the second one was perfect. After a week, I couldn't resist thinking about their pizza so I was at Olaf again. A friend and I ordered the same pizza, but something was different. It was dribbling with too much olive oil that the slices were wet as well as being salty. I actually got a bit sick afterwards. Coffee was warm and under extracted this time but I couldn't be bothered to ask for a new one again. We also shared a blueberry tart and a raspberry & mint tea which was just okay, maybe because the blueberry is not in season. Better to come back for this in summer?

I love Olaf's. Olaf and his bakers bake the most incredible bread, once you've had Olaf's sourdough you can't go back, There is bread but then there is Olaf's bread. One of my favourites is the fig and walnut bread, this is amazing, I mean some of these breads we are talking, 20 hours of fermentation here. It is no wonder Olaf has won so many awards. But enough about the bread, just go buy some. The cafe itself is a nice place to sit and relax, whether inside or out, they even have a water bowl outside for the dogs. The coffee is coffee supreme, always good coffee here, or that I have had anyway. As well as a fantastic kitchen menu of which they will adapt for you if your have dietary requirements (thankfully I am vegan, not gluten intolerant) There is also a stunning range of pastries and other wonderful things available in the cabinets. Take home some of Olaf's preserves for your bread too, they are equally amazing.

Wow I'd heard about this place through the 'Hood grapevine but really didn't realise how special it was until I went myself. Unintentionally too - the car was in for a WOF and the kids I had time to kill in the village. As soon as I walked in I wanted to eat even though it wasn't eating time. This is gourmet cabinet food at its best - the Puy Lentil Salad with Haloumi is burned into my consciousness but sadly was all eaten up when I popped back in there today. Still tomorrow is another day. Olaf's is part bakery with one side of the room open so you can watch the bakers do their thing. I haven't tried the bread yet but I can tell you the Iced Coffee is out of this world. The kids had smoothies which were also just so much MORE - sweet, unctious, tangy, creamy - pretty much a meal, a drink and a dessert all in the one glass. But oh sweet Jesus the Iced Coffee. Served in a narrow vintage-esque milk bottle, it comes unsweetened and poured from cofee machine jug contraption to glass bottle at your table by the very cool (in a fascinating I-want-to-stare-at-you way) waitperson. The three of us couldn't help but stare because I've never seen such table drama over cold coffee. Anyway, she was maybe unnerved by the staring because I didn't catch what she said as she set down a wee jug but I thought I'd heard one of my favourite words "vanilla". I was right. Next to my sleek glass bottle and my coffee cup was placed a small jug of vanilla syrup. Although the jug was small the amount of syrup was not and I actually got more than two big cups of the most intense brain-zapping, rapture inducing iced coffee I've possibly ever had. I am so going back for more. And the salads. And probably the bread. And maybe the sweets.....

Olafs Cafe got amazing ambience, nice comfortable seating and great location. Coffee at Olaf was not good. The coffee was a bit burnt and it tasted horribly. After mixing for several minutes, I managed to get it a bring it to a drinking standard but it was still of very low quality. The food was over priced and its quantity and size was very small. Comparing to cafes such as Melba, Kreem, Frasers, Dizenoff, Salta, Bambina cafes etc. I personally won't be going here again.

Cake and coffee with friends is always a good sort of naughty treat.

Apart from the vast array of sweet treats, the lovely staff and the convenient location, Olaf's has beautifully prepared flat whites and comfortable seating. The prices are reasonable and it's worth waiting in line for it all. My two friends and I shared three cakes and sat in the sun enjoying people watching while marvelling over the cakes' decadence. Highly recommended for a good treat and a catch up with friends.

No warning of low alcohol beer!!!!!

At first, we…read morewere hesitant about eating at a food court as we imagined it would be like Taco Bell, Panda Express, Burger King, etc. But it turned out to be more like a modern food hall. It's inside a commercial building with over ten vendors offering a nice mix of cuisines: Vietnamese, Malaysian, Chinese, Mediterranean, and Korean, plus a few places for juice, açaí, and matcha drinks. We decided to try Eden Noodle, mainly because it had the longest line--which usually says something about how popular (and hopefully good) the food is. We ordered the pork ribs with rice noodles and the wontons in chili oil. We chose mild, but it was still quite spicy, so next time we'll definitely go for not spicy. The ordering process was super easy. You go to one of the three kiosks, grab a pager with a number, enter your order, pay, and wait for the buzzer to go off when your food's ready--it took about 15 minutes for ours. There's plenty of seating--tables, chairs, and benches--and you often end up sharing a table with strangers. That might feel unusual for Americans, but it actually reminded me of Hong Kong, where space is limited and communal dining is the norm. Overall, portion sizes were decent for the price, and the flavors were good--just a bit spicier than expected for "mild."

Having lived for a long time in China I felt up to the task, but was not sure how a restaurant with a somewhat corny name would perform. On arrival I was put at ease by the exclusively Chinese clientele and the Mandarin-speaking young staff, who didn't bat an eye at my speaking with them in Chinese. Though there was no seating available in the main dining room, seats were available upstairs so we sent up there. Decor-wise, the place is a bit lacking, but in a way that adds to the atmosphere. The menu is the attraction anyway, and it is extensive. Since the chef is a member of China's Muslim minority Hui nationality, there is no pork on the menu, but there is lamb aplenty. And being a northern-style restaurant there are loads of wheat-based dishes (noodles and dumplings) rather than rice. Our order consisted of the following: an order of pan-fried lamb-fennel dumplings (羊肉茴香锅贴); cleaver-sliced noodles with beef (刀削牛肉面)); eggplant with garlic sauce (鱼香茄子); peanuts in vinegar (醋泡花生); and one each of the lamb and beef Chinese "burgers" (肉夹馍). We had hoped to order lamb kebabs as well, but they were out (and while I'd have loved to have had the chicken gizzard kebab, my friends insisted on no offal, and there is a minimum of five kebabs per order). The only slight disappointment was the beef "burger", since the meat was a bit dry, and the vinegar peanuts were not as punchy as I like, but the other dishes were spot-on. And the prices are very reasonable so you can afford to try new things without a budgetary concern.

My partner and I both had a full meal each as well as a side of pan fried dumplings and I had a hot oolong tea. We were stuffed to the max (and we both like to eat) for $35. And at the end of it we both agreed we didn't need the dumplings (however we always order 1-2 entrées anyway). This place is VERY good value in my opinion. I had the three sauce chicken with noodles ($9.5 I think?) which was huge. The chicken came on a small hot skillet sizzling in soy sauce and oyster sauce with ginger and other herbs, and the noodles appeared to be the hand-pulled noodles in a soup with herbs. The fresh coriander in the soup merrier well with the three sauce chicken and totally it the spot. It was VERY Delicious. My partner had the chicken katsu on rice which came with 3 different sides of vegetables as well as a small cup of soup. Both of our meals came with a slice of orange, which surprisingly was a cool and refreshing palate cleanser after all the salty and spicy (I always add hot chilli, but of course after tasting the dish first) flavours from the dish. Word of the wise - if you like bubble tea and order any of the teas off the menu it will be very sweet (unless you have a major sweet tooth, then perhaps this is right up your alley!). You can always ask for no sweetening or half sugar like at other bubble tea places. Also if you don't finish it ask for take-away and they will happily seal it in a cup for you. Weird and wonderful - Taiwanese Meat Ball. I had this the first time I went to My Kitchen a while back now. This is for the adventurous only - it is not your standard Italian meat ball.
