She has handled every step of buying our first house and selling ten years later. She is professional, competent, personable, experienced, and overall amazing. Finding and buying a property in the Seattle market where supply is limited and demand is sky high…read morewas not an easy task, especially for first-time homebuyers such as us. We were glad and very thankful that we were introduced to Jonathan Castro at Coldwell Bain who was instrumental in helping us navigate and close on our new construction townhouse in this challenging real estate market. As someone who migrated to Seattle with a toddler, we were not familiar with the area's neighborhoods. Jonathan provided us a recommended list of areas to explore that may fit our list of highly specific needs and wants. He patiently gave us a tour of the different properties that we were interested in and gave us insightful tips on the pros and cons of each. He became a trusted friend and advisor who wanted his clients to find the right home that fits our lifestyle and budget. Jonathan professionally negotiated, advocated, and spoke on our behalf during the negotiations, multiple visits, and inspections with the Seller of our new construction townhouse. His attention to detail helped us identify and highlight areas in our property that required to be fixed before closing. He was also honest and practical with his recommendations and always thought about what was best for his clients. Overall, we were very lucky and thankful that Jonathan represented us throughout the buying process. We are truly happy with our experience and we look forward to working with Jonathan again for future real estate deals!

We were waiting for a call from them to personally pick up the check (which is how we arranged to get it). We finally called them at the end of the day because we weren't being contacted and got really bad vibes from the Mercer Island branch over the phone. I'm not confident we'd EVER see that check. Now we'll have to wait until next Tuesday - 4 days from now - to pick up a check from a Chicago Title office an hour or more away. I don't know what's going on with the Mercer Island branch but I would steer clear of them in the future.

Horrific service and multiple screwups and lies…read more First off they opted us in to their in-house advertising spam agency and we started getting all kinds of harassing calls and emails for products we didn't want. Eventually I got them to opt me out of this but it's crazy that you have to do that... This company almost ruined a huge real estate deal. Kim Chi was our agent and she decided to mail some time-sensitive checks (that were required for closing) across the country via slow snail mail with no tracking, and no insurance. Who does that?! Every other title and escrow company I've ever worked with sends sensitive documents via Fed Ex or UPS and gets tracking and insurance. After nearly a week and these checks not appearing anywhere we finally got her to issue an emergency stop payment on the checks so that she could re-issue them and we could drive them two blocks from her office to local branches of banks. She had originally mailed them to branches in Texas and eastern US. Her excuse was that those were the addresses on the statements. We had asked our lender to cut the checks locally to speed it up and while our lender screwed up by not specifying in the instructions, Kim knew that's what we wanted and her failure to be thorough and double check this is a sign of laziness and lack of follow-through. Kim also issued the stop payment on those checks without bothering to even call the people she had originally sent them to to tell them that they wouldn't be good and they shouldn't try to cash them... yes, a title/escrow agent really did this. We were traveling internationally following the real estate deal and were terrified of bad checks with our names attached to them attempting to be cashed while we were abroad and the credit and ID theft implications of that. Kim could care less. Getting this fixed was a huge struggle. While this was going on we were frantically trying to coordinate and communicate with her. Kim and her assistants chronically avoided returning phone calls or emails and eventually I started phoning from outside her office and noticed she was having her staff LIE on her behalf and claim she was out or was busy. I'd walk in 10 seconds later to see her sitting there chatting with the other employees. I told them I was furious with the negligence, laziness and dishonesty. I wanted to speak to their supervisor so they gave me the number and email for Sara Bennett who we tried contacting for several months and who ignored our contact attempts. Eventually we got another name: Angie Balconi. After a few phone calls and emails Angie apologized for what happened but when we said we wanted a refund on the fees we paid Angie went silent. All in all this was a miserable experience. Go with anyone else: Rainier Title, Fidelity, etc.
