To Steven's credit, he has generally taken my calls, but the explanation has remained the same for months: the tops are being made, they are close, they are almost done. Because I live out of town, I have made three separate trips to the shop to check on the order in person. Each time, I left with little confidence that anyone could clearly tell me where my boots were in the production process. On more than one occasion, it seemed difficult for them to even locate the order. I make a point of supporting small businesses whenever possible, especially craftsmen and local shops. That is why this experience has been so disappointing. Custom work can take time, and delays happen, but communication and accountability matter. After 18 months, repeated vague assurances are not enough. Based on my experience, I would caution anyone considering a custom order here. For me, this has been a very frustrating and disappointing experience.
