The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on lot of businesses and public places since a consumer mindset to buy anything outside of essential or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with it has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. We wanted to find some place for a nice evening walk and ran into this in Google maps. It was a 30 minute drive from our place, to get here. The parking had a lot of spaces and wasn't too busy. We took a nice walk by the beach. The beach was closed by fences in a lot of places warning on the high lead content the water would contain. The roads, children play area and the side gardens were well maintained. Most of the people were weary of the pandemic and wore masks, but not everyone. The overall distance would be a good 2 mile walk that was not hard and was enjoyable to do by the bay. read more

Eww. I was looking for a local spot to spend some time by the beach and found this park on Google maps. It's beautiful enough when you get here, how can you go wrong with an ocean and good weather. However, the moment I saw the EPA hazard sign that you can see in the photos, it was like finding a hair in a five-star restaurant. Turned me off to this park completely and I just left. They need to clean up their act. read more

This is a great little local park with a beautiful boardwalk/paved trail to walk. There is a nice pier although signs advise against fishing here. The playground is huge and looks very new. The sand/rock areas are fenced off. There are signs posted everywhere to keep off because of lead contamination Aside from the lead issue this is a great spot if you're in the area. There is a deli close by and the ice cream truck was hanging out by the parking lot when we went. read more

I'm surprised I didn't stumble upon this place earlier. It's a nice little mini beach away from the shore. There is a boardwalk you can stroll on or plenty of space on the sand to sit and watch the sunset. We love taking our dogs here for short walks. There is also a fenced off playground nearby if you want to bring your human children! read more

This little park has a lot to offer. The small parking lot can fill up pretty fast so sometimes you'll have to find parking along the street. Immediately you are looking directly at the waterfront. To your left there is a wooden walkway, to the right there is a paved walkway, in the center there is some benches with checkers/chess boards on them, and behind you there is a basketball court. The wooden walkway has a few spots with benches so you can soak in the view of the landscape. Along with this, there are three jetty's that you can walk out on (and fish). If you go all the way to the end of the walkway, you come to a paved path and it ends up at the other end of the park. There is a satellite police station there and a beach to soak in the sun or just mosey about. Going back to the other side of the park, the path is paved and in the beginning there is a decently-sized playground and a gazebo near the end. If you keep going past the gazebo you will come out to the other beach. This one isn't as nice, but it's great to get away from the other people there. It's also full of rocks and washed up items. It's a great little park. I should mention that you should not go in the water. It has elevated levels of lead! read more

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon in summer to try some crabbing and it was quiet and peaceful. The first 2 jetties had a few people on them so we walked down to the 3rd one and joined a lone fisherman. We walked the winding boardwalk, enjoying the views. The boardwalk looks great and there are benches throughout in case you need a seat. The playground was large and looked great for kids! The only disappointing thing was that people leave their trash and it is all stuck between the rocks of the jetties. My PSA is clean up after yourself! read more

I absolutely enjoyed my visit to this park! The water views are nice, there is ample parking, and the park is very close to some stores and restaurants (e.g.; pizza parlors). There is also a bathroom available on site (next to the Old Bridge police building), as well as porta potties. I came here on a nice Saturday afternoon, and I enjoyed walking around the boardwalk, admiring the breeze on the pier, and walking around the park trails. On a Saturday afternoon, there was a good amount of people there walking/jogging around, walking their dogs, and playing with the kids on the playground. The kid's playground has a cute pirate theme, and looks clean and newly-painted. There was also some people fishing on the pier. It was also cool looking across the water and seeing the Outerbridge and the Verrazano Bridge. The downside to this park is that in select parts of the beach and on the rocks by the pier, there is plenty of garbage. It is such a nice park, but it is such a mood killer seeing cans, candy wrappers, and plastic bags in places where nature is supposed to flourish. Other than that, I would definitely visit here again. read more

i love this spot for walks with my dog. It is well lit in the evening and there are a lot of people on the fishing piers and boardwalk. The negative is the people who visit. Perhaps if they provided disposable waste bags. I always have them on me, but some people aren't quite as respectful of public property. Overall its clean, but the fishermen need to clean up after themselves too. I have seen a few stray cats and just last night there was a skunk so be careful with your dog. Overall it looks great, they did a very nice job cleaning up after Sandy. Now for the people who visit - respect the beauty around you and clean up after your dog and self. read more

the new post hurricane sandy damage boardwalk looks complete, but is still not open as of april 2014, some dumpsters with construction refuse still around, i assume/hope it will be ready by memorial day. there are a couple of fishing piers/jetties to walk out on and a bunch of benches on the boardwalk and in the concrete walkway connected to the boardwalk by the parking area, which has some restrooms and a children's play area.. definitely a pleasant enough place to go stroll around or fish or hang out or whatever if you are local, but nothing here is really a big draw to make this a destination in and of itself unless you are in the general area for other reasons. read more

I went there to see how the fishing was. The place did have some garbage laying around the rocks. I did see a dead cat next to the boardwalk. Have no idea what it died from. If you go after dark you can see rats on the rocks by the jetties but thats just nature. The place is ok could be better.
